You faggots will argue about anything
You faggots will argue about anything
both are nice games
I like both
The whole Castlevania franchise is bullshit.
what if
we combined them
Both are awesome
Super Metroid is the superior game!!! Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!
both great games
Both are shit
>patrician choice
Super Metroid
>faggy emo choice
Symphony of the Night
Metroid would probably lose to Baron von Kino.
There's nothing to argue about, user. Everyone knows Super Metroid is the better game.
Two of my favorite games. I have no need to compare them.
Some kind of... Metroid...Vania
botha re shit
Better music and mechanics: SoTN
Better overall game: SM
SotN has more content, better music and more variety.
Super Metroid is great but SotN is better.
Both are okay
Except one is neglected by its company, the other is probably fully dead or being "resurrected" as a pachinko machine
go away u trole
But Super is objectively the better game. This is common knowledge.
One is super boring, the other is trying too hard to be edgy.
Does the former have erotic violence?
...
Nope, they're both fantastic games and I'm honestly extremely saddened that both franchises are dead.
....woah
aria of sorrow is better than symphony of the night tho
Metroid Zero Missions is better than everything else in that list though.
but that's wrong tho
fist me irl
Is OoE a good starting point?
No it isn't.
OoE is SHIT.
lewd
Dawn of Sorrow is better than Aria, other than the shit anime artstyle they used in DoS.
you have officially lost your mind
Neo Strider is pretty damn ace bro.
Ori, on the other hand, is overrated as fuck. Good, but not "AMAZING" like everyone seems to say it is.
Strider in meh tier
nigger you have bad taste
I could define a whole genre...
All Metrovanias are 2D Action/Platformers. But not all 2D Action/Platformers are metrovanias.
Case in point, something like Shantae is not a metrovania. Its more like Zelda 2.
are souls games/soulslike the proper evolution of castlevania?
For metroidvanias or the castlevania series?
If you mean castlevania i'd say look at this user's pic
If you mean metroidvanias, don't start with la-mulana. It's a great game, but I wouldn't recommend that as your first metroidvania.
Yes.
No? You don't get powerups and shit in those games. Just levels and equipment.
Both
Only an S-class faggot would say otherwise
Super Metroid is better if only for the reason that grinding isn't a factor at all really in the game unless you are desperate for missiles or something.
SotN RPG elements sort of bogged down the gameplay a bit, but other than that its a great game.
Yeah I can't really think of another formula that would make for a good 3D castlevania game aside from maybe better platforming sections and more whip/magic focused combat.
Both are great, but I like SoTN a little more.
I will fucking fight you for Pirate's Curse's honor.
OoE is my favorite Castlevania but no, start with SorN or the Original or something.
Yes.
I haven't actually played it. I'll do it now.
Have fun, user
Maybe but there'd have to be a lot more exploration. Lots of hidden powerups and such. If Nintendo announced a new Metroid game made by FROM but had a more ranged based style of combat with the speed of Bloodborne I'd consider buying it.
Granted it couldn't just be Souls with a Metroid coat of paint. A lot more care and adoration for the franchise would need to go into something like a third person Metroid to make it good and I dunno if I care to see anyone try anymore. Nintendo sure as hell can't do it.
Both are in my top 5 favorite games of all time.
More or less. I think the Darksiders games are closer, but there're only 2 of those.
There's a reason we call games the copy them metroidvania games. Cause they both top tier.
And SotN has an utterly bad balance. The only "boss" worthy of this title is the one before dracula, the rest is complete shit. The difficulty ruins what could have been a masterpiece.
>inb4 Metroid is the same.
If you don't look for the E-tanks, SM can be a bitch at times.
La-Mulana is metroidvania for geniuses with working knowledge in dead religions and obscure folklore.
I keep saying that, but Ori has not its place in the great tier. It just hasn't what it takes to be at this place. It is a great platforming game, but a bad metroidvania.
>Trinkets in places you never have to come back
>Bad backtracking
>no bosses
>is Rayman Origins X SMB
>The map is very straightforward
It fails in most mandatory fields to be a "great" metroidvania.
*Locked in places you never have to naturally come back to .
> strider in meh tier
jesus christ talking about shit taste
>if you don't play the game properly it's better
I hate when this autistic logic pops up for any game
In SotN, there's pretty much no way to play the game without being overpowered and that makes it worse.
I don't care I wasn't talking about SotN I'm talking about the autismos that say a game has to be played a certain way
>muh no death run
>muh nuzlock
You mean it literally defines every game where you can move around freely and there are upgrades.
I was not talking about avoiding the E-tanks on the path, but about looking for the hidden ones.
Yeah still retarded, looking for shit is part of the game
Beating it as fast as possible is also part of the game
