Concern is a function of the state of available information about the project.
If a project looks good, but gets delayed, then it's not a big deal. The team needs more time to finish the project.

If the project looks like a disaster, then it's a big deal, because it means all of the time spent working on the project was wasted and there's very little chance that in one year they'll be more productive than in the previous two years of utter failure.

Both Starcraft and Half-Life missed their release milestones, but those games turned out good. Meanwhile Daikatana missed several and it was released broken.

Also, you do realise that 3 years is by no means a long time when it comes to game development time, right? Most games take 3-5 years to develop.

And stretchgoals makes it pretty guaranteed there will be delays usually since they add extra work which can complicate the development further. Furthermore, you retards do realise that the problem with MN9 was not the delays, right? The game came out.

The problem was that MN9 was a shitty game even after the delays, while Bloodstained even as an early E3 alpha was better than MN9 as a finished product.
