nope

better than the FF movie but still shit

Flawed but I liked it.

It supposedly had 40mins worth of cut scenes and it definitely showed.

It was okay. The only scenes that were bad in all honesty were the ones with Garona (Absolutely cringe) but it was surprisingly good in other spots and I liked how much exposure the Orcs got.

I'll wait to see if there's a directors cut of the film that gets released. I hear a solid chunk of the best material was left on the cutting room floor so hopefully that gets restored.

>better than the FF movie
Nice bait. I don't even like FF but the FF movie managed to entertain me. Meanwhile, I couldn't even finish this trainwreck.

hell^no
it was so bad david bowie died after seeing an early version of it.

Not even a little bit.

Yurpors confirmed plebs.

Normally I'm apologetic towards video game movies

but this shit was awful. I expected more.
Those fucking awful set up cliche action movie trope lines and the delivery oh god

It's a big fun sprawling fantasy feeulm.

it was bad in a way that is hard to describe

the movie is allright by generic fantasy movie standards

but by video game movie standards it's a special kind of awful
you could make a full 7 part plinkett style review analyzing everything mismanaged in the film

and the strangest part is that the badness comes from the creators loving the damn thing too much, making the movie completely uneventful

for example:
the scene in goldshire
1. makes no sense (why is the king in a commoners inn
2.why isn't the king in the keep when the kingdom is under attack
3.why did they need a location change for such simple dialogue
4.why dont we see any street shots of stormwind now instead of an hour into the movie
and so on

but then you remember, goldshire is important to the fans so you gotta shoehorn it somewhere

this way of thinking got us this weak sauce story

And lets not forget the stupid scene in dalaran!

they fucked the canon with having it be flying from the start just so wow fans can go "I remember that!"
but then they made the entire scene poorly explained and almost irrelevant
khadgard couldve learned that phrase from reading that book or just have a fucking vision(its magic, you can literally do whatever you want) , we didnt need an unexplained detour just to have an old lady mumble some exposition at us

"but you gotta have dalaran!"
"cause its iconic!"

I cant imagine how many hours were wasted modeling and animating the cg for the city just to have it last 2 seconds and actually be damaging to the overall story

>dalaran
>flying
REEEEEE, havent seen the movie yet, but they did this? fucking bullshit

It was okay but wasn't Lothar supposed to be killed like a dumb bitch in a 30 seconds ambush in Warcraft 2?

unwatchable trash. worse than a videogame cutscene both in appearance and writing

CGI Orcs were more alive than the real human actors.
Lore wasn't just retconned, it was completely changed for no fucking reason.
Worst part of Warcraft lore to make a movie of, Orcs and Humans alone are boring.

It was bad for fans and it was bad for people unfamiliar with the source material because it doesn't fucking explain anything. I will say this, Gul'Dan was the only saving grace.

Its awfulness was overhyped. It was just mediorce.

It was so lore-breaking, my friends would have to keep me from jumping up in chair several times. Shit was fucking infuriating, they messed up EVERYTHING.

And none of the changes did they movie any good either. The only scene I kinda liked is Gul'Dan saving baby Thrall, but then again, it all sounds so absurd now I'd rather erase it all from my head.

normies only know about dalaran flying
they would have had the same reaction you are having now if they saw it on the ground

this technically a wc1 movie
where lothar appears for 1 mission and doesnt do anything, you need to rescue him

oh okay, thanks

Jesus Christ no. I actually know the lore and still had trouble figuring out what the fuck was happening and why from the movie.

They really just threw the audience into the deep end without explaining shit and then did everything after that poorly as well.

Highly fucking debatable and I'm assuming you're referring to Spirits Within because Kingsglaive was 1,000x better than this garbage.

>Hey Lothar, Fhaggar here wants to fuck me right in my green orc puss

What did she mean by this?

normies ruining shit again, they cant keep getting way with this

Sorry to tell you this but..

Is there a three-hour version of Warcraft?
>No, there's not. A lot of people ask me, "When is the director's cut coming out?" There will never be a director's cut.
>With a film like this, where there are so many visual effects, every concession that you make you lose those shots.
>They cease to exist because the effects work never gets done. Some of it's not even at that stage.
>You go through a writing stage right up to the deadline of shooting the thing. [You lose] ideas in the writing process.
>Then sets change for whatever reason and notes come in. You're changing things around a three-and-a-half-year process.
>You get these little changes which are constantly course-correcting you. So there is no possibility of there ever being a director's cut. It's purely in my head.

Director's cut isn't happening user

My brother liked it. But he never played the games. I kinda liked it. But they changed up way too much.

Execrably bad. They ruined the lore completely. I couldn't finish it, quit around halfway through. I'd rather watch the pain series than this shit, it would be less painful

No, it's shit. Sadly because I wanted it to be good. Fuck modern Blizzard.

Screw his pretentious explanation. Will there be an "extended" cut at least?

Other than some nostalgia injections like the musics and locations such as Stormwind there wasn't all that much to it. Could've done with less eye-laser mages and I don't agree with the focus on the orcs, but that's just the setting. The movie was mediocre, I don't regret watching it.

It was so bad I forgot it existed until you made this thread again. Thanks, asshole.

I'd say it was pretty solid and sets up for a trilogy quite well. Biggest issue was the editing. It feels, and is, like a film with almost an hour of cut footage in it. It just transitions from scene to scene almost randomly and you barely get a chance to get to know quite a few of the characters.

Hellscream doesn't even talk in the final product. You just see Grom chilling in the backgrounds here and htere

I've never played any Warcraft games either and I enjoyed the movie way more than i thought I would. Felt very TV fantasy cheesy in a good way.

It was bad. The orc parts were pretty good, but all of the human parts were shit.

ive been warcraft fan for more than 15 years, watched movie with another warcraft fan and my gf who doesnt care about games much.

each one of us liked the movie. its solid 6,5/10. guldan and orcs were pretty fucking cool

Movie would have been so much better without her

Yeah I think the hate the film gets is really overexagerated. People always want either a masterpiece or trash these days. They don't realize that back when movies were something people would go out and see all the time a mediocre or average film was basically what you saw and hoped to see. Bad films are bad, but the grand majority should hopefully be average or slightly above average. This film falls along those average lines, and there's nothing wrong with that.

>guldan
Fuck, you just made me remember. The final duel was atrocious. There was no good reason to do a complete retake of it, showing the same fucking things just to be extremely explicit. It only made guldan look like a fucking child throwing a fit. They could have scrapped the first duel completely, you would still see the orcs caring about muh honorable duels and it would have been so much better.

Extended with what? There are no cut scenes exept the Hellscream one. And that one is included on the regular disc as a bonus scene.

Are you retarded. THEY DONT DO EFFECTS ON SHIT THEY DIDNT DO.

WHY WOULD THEY PACKAGE NON EXISTANT CRACKERS IN A CRACKER BOX IF THERE ARE NO CRACKERS

I honestly liked it more than all three Hobbit movies combined. It just needed a longer running time for the humans. It was obviously rushed in that regard, with large parts cut.

I would love an extended edition, and I hope somehow a sequel is made. I was expecting shit and I was pleasantly surprised.

If LotR is a 10/10 and the Hobbit is 5/10, I'd say this is a 7/10.

>They never take the 5 seconds it would take to explain why she looks completely different from all of the other Female Orcs

They explain that she's a Halforcan.

Also, I saw this movie with my girlfriend who knew NOTHING about Warcraft besides it's an MMO, and she had no problem following who was who and what was going on. No clue what the reviewers were on about.

I dont remember any such mention. The only thing that I remember that could've hinted at her heritage is when Gul'dan asks her to translate for the Draenei slaves

I think the film implied she is Medivh's daughter

Transformers is better than The Hobbit trilogy. SO not really saying much there.

As someone who never played a Warcraft game and knows jackshit about the lore, I highly enjoyed it. Made me want to play the original rts games

I liked the movie but i didnt like this

>Garona and Lothar initial relationship. Lothar was literally thinking with his dick, what the fuck? she's a fucking prisoner, calm down. Once you talk to her, you have the permission to do look at her and try to look cool and stuff
>Lothar relationship with his son was so undeveloped that nobody cared when he died
>Medivh should have died like in the game, with his head chopped off. It could have been like, in a lucid moment, "DO IT KAGHAR, IS THE ONLY WAY" or some shit, and boom.
>The duel between lothar and Blackhand was too short. Remove Kadghar filler and other stuff and it could have been a way better
>Lothar, while he was supposed to be cool, he was WAY to cool. Like, i cannot eat that shit of "let me jump into a bunch of orcs because fuck you, yeah im so cool omg"
>When Garona came back to the horde, it should have been as a rockie, like "i know you killed their king, but we havent forgotten your treason; You are forgiven, no more, no less", but no, she was a leader already. I understand killing the enemy's king is a big honor shit and stuff, but c'mon, orcs arent that stupid or at least they shouldnt.

I know people are like "but muh lore", but c'mon, you are grown ups, you KNOW that a videogame story cannot work in a movie without making changes, the storytelling works differently. The lore changes werent that bad honestly, and while i agree that dalaran shouldnt be flying, is that big of a deal? i mean, it would be cool to see Archimonde bringing Dalaran to the ground, with flying frost wyrms destroying dalaran or something. It can be cool and i wanna see that.
Really liked Gul'dan, really like the orcs in general, and the humans were ok. Im not into movies too much, so i dont know if the acting was good, but in my opinion it wasnt that bad.
Also, it needed stronger music, i wanted OST from warcraft, or at least put more attention to the music. I dont remember any memorable track.

they literally call her halfbreed at the start of the movie

then when she is talking to lothar she says her mother was burned giving birth to her

then medivh tells he met a woman in a faraway land

get it?

(no this is not speculation, the director confirmed garona is medivhs daughter)

im really hoping they make this canon just to further shit on med'an

The lore is fucked yo.
wow.gamepedia.com/Curse_of_Flesh
>"It's a condition that affects titan creations. Th' titans fashioned their creatures with stone, mostly, or other mechanical means, so they could carry out their assigned duties tae th' world without fear o' deterioratin' or gettin' weak. But there are beings o' great magic an' malice that hate th' titans, and they sabotaged these creations by turnin' their bodies tae flesh like th' other creatures o' Azeroth."

Basically everyone was once a robot (yes robo gnomes) until magic happened.

Why would Medivh fuck a full blooded orc?

>they literally say she's a half-orc

nice

It was a bad movie and I have been a Warcraft fan since Warcraft 2
>the intro with the orc vs human was a homage to the Warcraft 3 teaser trailer but it was made worse
>Garonas shitty tusks gave the actress a shitty lisp
>editing was crazy, no scene was given the time to let the atmosphere sink in
>choreography was lame, the biggest insult to injury is that the GoTs Battle of the Bastards aired a few weeks after the movie and blew the fuck out of the war scenes of fucking warcraft
>stupid decisions like glowing eyes were just awful. I only use forsaken and Belfs and I never realized how stupid glowing eyes looked like
>the locales were so barren, drab, colorless and boring. Playing Legion makes me hate the scenery of the movie more
>modernized dialogue was awful. Warcraft never had good dialogue but it was consistent in that it feels charming it always tries to sound epic. All the characters in the games talk like they are filled with pride no matter how stupid te plot gets while in the movie most characters were so mellow
>That whole shit they did with the cube in Dalaran. What the fuck was that?
>lamest infernal ever. My god it looked awful
Its a damn shame because I really liked the directors previous 2 movies.
In this day an age there is little room for mediocre works. In a few clicks of a button I could watching masterpieces made by master film makers or I could be watching the most critically acclaimed modern tv shows. There is a lifetime of great works I could access right now. Why would I settle for mediocre shit?

he didnt really have a choice

Is it weird that I think have consensual sex with an orc is disgusting but getting raped by one is hot?

no.
spirits within was a complete pile of shit with no redeeming qualities and a plot that made absolutely no sense, go fuck yourself

>>lamest infernal ever. My god it looked awful
its a golem
its from wc3

It was green
It was shit

> plot made no sense

It was perfectly clear what was going on. Stop baiting.

Movie is too slow, and then Garona ruins it later. Its a necessary step though for future movies.

nah
its this thing with a little fel

it was meh
(meh is still enjoyable)

Saved

It certainly wasn't great, but I didn't hate it. I thought it was good enough to be entertaining.

...

>spends the first 15 minutes alienating normalfag audiances with cgi orcs until we eventually get to the protagonist
>make big changes to the story for movie purposes
>leave out huge pieces of the plot
>don't even have a satisfying conclusion
I just don't understand.
It could have been good just simplifying it to a basic movie formula or it could have been really faithful and been ok. Also the direction was just generally awful.

>>spends the first 15 minutes alienating normalfag audiances with cgi orcs until we eventually get to the protagonist

normalfags loved that shit
you're an idiot

moar

Garona isn't Medivh's daughter, how would he fuck an orc when they're at the other planet? in original lore they fugged and made Me'dan, who I've heard was rectoned out of existance, is that true? So now canonically he didn't shagged Garona?

nope
she is his daughter
the script and the movie novelization confirm it
a scene was cut where medivh calls her his daughter

ok :3

They did it to themselves after JAWS and they were even warned back then it would fuck them.

Not our fault. In fact, they are so retarded and unwilling to face their retardation that they've lashed out at pirates about it and tried to maintain complete and total control over the market instead.

Straight up textbook retarded.

jokes on you faggot that's my wallpaper

...

prove it

lemonparty? really?

EDITING, very often, a lot more footage is created than is actually needed and trimmed down to create a coherent movie with a good pace.

Absolute trash.
And trying to justify its terrible quality by saying it was made for the fans is insane. You don't have to know seventy years of comics to watch the Christopher Nolan Batman movies.

It was pretty good for a CG movie.

I know fuck-all about Warcraft lore, so I don't know how faithful it actually is.
I did feel like the plot didn't quite fit with green orcs being infected with Fel and brown orcs wanting to be green orcs.
I loved the fight scenes and the orc traditions, but I feel like they could've done more with the whole orc tribal thing.

Medivh was utterly just a poor villain because he turns evil by getting infected by Fel during a fight.

Otherwise, it was very watchable, if not true to the roots of Warcraft.

Oh and I forgot to mention that this character felt like someone who the movie would've been better without.

She's there only as a plot device doesn't contribute anything else to the story other than keeping it going at points.

maybe this is more appropriate to your tastes
:3

Not related but it took me 17 years to realize that the only good matrix movie is the first one and why.

Why, user?

Because sequels are simply action movies without general idea. A lot of cgi and other special effects, cool fights but it's just a bunch of wow moments glued together.
The original movie is good mainly because of it's first half.
The world looks normal, there are some terrorists and hackers just like in real life, feds and cops chase after them. But it turns out they are terrorists because they know the truth, the world is controlled by ai and it's just a virtual simulation. This is what makes it a good cyberpunk movie, the plot with main character uncovering the major conspiracy.
