I don't hate the game, but its overhyped, the writing is cringey fanfic shit, and half of it is plagiarized. The fanbase is horrible though.

I'm appalled by how bad the fanbase became. However, the game has plenty of flaws on its own, so the fans never need to factor into my criticism of the game.

I just played through the game a month ago after my friend recommended it. I enjoyed it and it felt deep. One of the better games i played recently. It also got me into playing earthbound so thats nice

The game is nothing special, once you've done all the runs there's nothing much else to it. The fan base like all others just ruins it for everyone with a real functioning brain. And don't even get me started on MatPat's bullshit.

Just the fanbase. The game has flaws and shouldn't be held as some indie game gold standard, but I personally enjoyed most of the six hours I put into it.

I really enjoy the game and had a good time playing it. Thats better than what I could say for 90% of other games i've played. But the fanbase is incredibly hard to deal with. I can't even talk about it like a normal game. All Sup Forums threads are shitposted into oblivion with arguments about the game, tumblr and reddit is just shitty fanart, and the /vg/ threads are a mix between both. I work as a sub at schools sometimes. A few weeks ago I was subbing a 5th grade class where like 10 girls kept on making the same papyrus and sans references. I asked if any of them actually played the game and all of them just sayed they watched some youtuber played it. Either people those girls are 98% of the undertale """fandom""", or an extremely vocal minority.

It's a fun shmup rpg. The fanbase is shit, just ignore it and play. Good story, good characters, fun combat, and has 3 main endings, all of which are worth getting.

The game is lukewarm to me. I just don't see the appeal, I like the fights and all as a neat little game to play but the story just bored me. The characters go from uninteresting to annoying when you actually look at them. Being non-violent isn't really novel to me as someone who doesn't play a lot of murder based games, and who always played the talky bard or pacifistic healer in D&D. It both looks and feels like a fan game of Earthbound, music I will admit is nice though. So yeah, not my cup of tea, and I can't see how anyone can stand most of the characters, considering the autistic skeleton, the weaboo, stock caring mom, and generic pity villain.

Fanbase just confuses me more, since every time I've encountered them they either seem to literally be the character, or don't even know what the hell the character they love is. The rabid nature they tend to have is shit too, since I've been given shit for saying stardew valley has better characters than it. Though considering characters who are easiest to read appeal to a large audience I can see how it happened. Oh yes I also hate furries and pedophiles too, seems to be a lot of them in that fan base.

I loved playing the game with Sup Forums when it first came out. Then the fanbase just started getting crazy after a week or two.
