they should have made a human character
>has gun
>dies easy
>hunger is average
>can't run fast
>not very strong
>can find ammo
>eats everything but gains less from plants
There were human characters
It looks like a great game. Too bad it didn't go multi-platform. I still want to play it.
what is this?
Are you retarded? It was made by sony, of course it didn't go multiplatform.
Chris' blood
Bought it a couple days ago, but haven't played it yet. Is it that good?
wtf?
I loved this game. Every animal played differently, the gameplay was simple but still challanging, the side-scrolling presentation (instead of over-the-shoulder camera) added to the arcade feel given by the short playthrough times and scoreboard, it's one of the few modern games with same-screen co-op and it's really fun to play with friends, and the progression method of playing as one animal to unlock the next (instead of just collecting points to buy the ones you want) made you play outside your comfort zone and change your style.
Also, dressing up the animals was really cute.
Finally, screw the hippo-unlock challenge so hard.
You actually can play as humans in Tokyo Jungle. Salaryman is DLC, and you can unlock Caveman in the main game. Check a walkthrough to be confirm, but I think you get it from beating the story missions.
Let me take care of this
>That moment when Robots and Dinosaurs starts roaming the streets
This game was super rad.
oh cool. What did he play like? might buy if it sounds fun
Was a ton of fun to play couch coop in this game. Shame it didn't get ported to PC or PS4.
I played it the other night on my vita with PS3 Remote Play but the input lag was horrible.
Game is underrated as fuck.
isn't it available on PS Now which is on PC?
What was the point of keeping it on Sony's consoles only?
This isn't the kind of game that sells consoles.
Neanderthal was over powered as fuck. But he can't breed so after you own the whole map there isn't anything left to do
What does he eat?
You, usually. Seriously, Neanderthals were OP as fuck, they destroyed most creatures 1v1
>What was the point of keeping it on Sony's consoles only?
>It was made by Sony
Are you retarded?
Neanderthals are carnivores, and Salarymen are herbivores.
I love Tokyo Jungle - I just wish Sony didn't make me fucking rent it on PS4 - I was prepared to drop STUPID MONEY to have my own little dog adventure, but no, I gotta stream and rent it
>Salarymen are herbivores.
Haha, "grass eaters," haha.
I used to speedrun the story mode. Do not ask why. No, there were no real skips or techniques.
It's a radical game, though.
Music was great.

Herbivores > carnivores
Game was most fun playing as chicken and rabbit.
The developer is literally Sony, "Studio Japan" is just a name to differentiate them from SCE proper and the other Sony divisions. Just like how Nintendo has different names for their studios, like "Nintendo EAD" you may as well ask why a Zelda game isn't on the Xbox.
Studio Japan made Ape Escape, Gravity Rush, and Ico / Shadow of the Colossus, among others.
why
for the great bear
>replaying story
Man, fuck the hyena mission.
Game was a blast doing Couch Co-op.
Also playing as the Robodog late at night was chill as fuck.
good game. still odd why it was on ps3 though. is that gonna sell consoles?
see
The fuck did the salary man do? Did he just snap necks and kick shit?
Not gonna lie, a sequel would get me to buy a PS4.
How do you unlock him?
any gameplay for the caveman?
Just type 'tokyo jungle caveman' into YouTube, you retarded hyper nigger.
Just another one of sony's more unique ideas, like ape escape and patapon.
I bought the game years ago but the box is completely in Japanese.
I haven't actually put it in my console yet, is this normal or did I buy the wrong one?
It only got a physical release in japan, it's not a text heavy game though you should be able to play it fine
Tokyo Jungle only had a disc release in Japan. USA and Europe was PSN download only.
Hope you can read Japanese.
>Tokyo Jungle 2
>all the species of the first game (including DLC), plus more
>new mutation feature caused by chemical hazards like radiation from a destroyed nuclear plant
>open world, encompassing the entire Tokyo prefecture
>3D camera
>evolved combat mechanics (multiple attack types, signature abilities, strengths/weaknesses)
>able to form alliances with other animals who can also breed so you can do a single playthrough with multiple animals (able to switch between members of a litter at will)
>couch co-op, Souls-esque online invasion/co-op system when playing online (or more like Journey with unannounced drop-ins/outs)
Would literally be GOTYAY
>the box
Yeah your game is in Japanese.
It was not released physically outside of Japan.
Should I buy this game then?
Was looking for a couch coop game to play with my 10-year old brother.
Yeah, it's fun.
>Open world
It's really good for co-op.
You each pick your own animal, so you can back him up with a stronger animal if he chooses a weaker one. The controls are relatively simple (attack, jump, dodge, sneak, and lunge attack), and combat never really gets too complex, just be ready to run if you're overwhelmed or face an enemy too many sizes larger than you.
Also, it's a high-score type of game, with persistant unlocks. It's made to keep on replaying and slowly get better. In fact, a cool feature is that every time your animal changes generations, your earned stat increases get permanently added to that species, so next time you play you're a little bit stronger.
Oh Barry!
I mean, the game's already open world, but you're limited to very specific paths.
I'm talking like, being able to fully explore the city, duck into alleyways, climb up buildings, that sort of thing.
To better illustrate my idea, I would like for the game to let me move from Yoyogi to Dogenzaka without having to move backwards through Yamanote and Shibuya.
>the same company that makes a fuckload of mobile games
>hurr why would they make games for another platform?
also if you haven't guessed the answer is money
fun little game, never could get very far. I feel like it was insanely harder in co-op.
I love that game
Off topic kinda but speaking of games on consoles only..
>why
Yeah it was a great game. Wish there was a second one.
Really hoping for a Tokyo Jungle 2 announcement at Sony's panel this year
I really want another game like this, except with nothing buy insects/arachnids.
I really wanted to love this game because hearing it had a very classic arcade cabinet feel.
But I realized it's a very 50/50 game, where you either liked it or you didn't.
I fell down in the latter. The story missions were all cute and unique, but the gameplay itself was all the same boring 3 steps of find food, fight off rival, find your mate with the droning music in the background.
I bought it for a dollar on PSN several years ago. Never played it though.
>not on PC
>Sony exclusive
Trash.
I thought the game was a neat little arcade run, but it got boring real fast.
My girlfriend, on the other hand, got dragged in deep to the point where she unlocked everything in the game.
what in the world
why is he so weird and agile
Because you touch yourself at night.
It got released physically stateside as well, but it was part of a bundle rather than standalone like the Japanese version.
Was there ever a Vol. 2?
Doesn't seem like it. There were other collections though like ThatGameCompany did a Flower/Journey/Fl0w one, and I think there was a Pixeljunk collection as well.
Fucking love this game. Coop was pretty fun too
I remember playing this with this song blasting.
