Think of it like Forza 6 apex. It's basically a beta test to see if the engine can work on PC without too much trouble.

They brought custom games and forge, probably to see the reception for the game and get the community growing while they fine tune the engine.

I suspect they'll port some more Halo stuff by next year and make them cost money now that this will get more people using Windows 10 and already aware of Halo coming to PC.

You can't load AI units and there's no multiplayer, correct? If that's true what do you do? I suppose just navigating the environment in the highest settings you can handle could be interesting for a little while. Is there anything beyond that?

AMD CPU's (basically anything not the FX-#### series) won't work because they don't have SSE 4.1 instruction set (I don't know what this means either).

I have an 1100T/380, so although my setup barely beats the minimum requirements, I can't play it. Realistically, I can't complain too much because my CPU is 6 years old. But I am slightly disappointed. I suppose I'll play it in a year or two then when I upgrade.

I'm not the one who made any of the maps (yet), shitbird.

Yes but if you hold down whatever key is used to switch back and forth between Spartan and editor it should make the lighting better. At least that's how it works on console.

Spent like 8 hours making a map all night with a friend on the alpine map, put a bunch of trees and cover and cliffs and rocks and shit all over the place for a sniper duel type game where you only have one life and have to sneak around and snipe the other person before they snipe you. Coming from only using halo 3's forge, all the shit you can do in this one is fucking CRAZY.

the map we made is actually fun as fuck, felt like fighting the end in mgs3, one of our rounds lasted like 20 minutes

It's 10gb of language files and shit from the campaign you can't access as usual. They should really think about cleaning up the install.

When you can barely fit 10-15 games on your HD, it becomes in issue. This is part of the reason why I stopped pirating so many games. The install size is too big to make it worth my while.

That's what I thought when I started using this. I wasn't expecting much since it was free and I thought everyone shat on Halo 5, so my mind was honestly blown when I started using this.

According to reddit, you can also even put custom images onto map previews. No doubt that will be abused like Halo 3.

Phil Spencer literally said he rather put 343 to work on Halo 6, and have them port that one to PC, than port all of Halo 5.

Has only a couple good levels, the convenent has muh two scarabs fight which is garbage because you can just pew pew them with the hornet. Worst story of the first three, with stupid shit like miranda flying into window etc. Shitty levels like floodzone. Redone brutes are worse than they were in Halo 2.

i wish the movement didnt feel so fucking clunky. i dont remember halos movement control like you're moving through molasses.

Halo 5 has great movement m8, assuming you don't mind sprint. Only one that feels like molasses is 3.

i could not for the life of me do anything in terms of movement besides run linearly. i dont mind the jumping forcing me to commit to that jump arc but theres no fucking way im going to be able to do literally anything in terms of dodging. the movement doesnt feel good at all. maybe the FoV isnt helping it. ill just wait.

What do you mean run linearly? I assume this is problem from keyboard movement vs continues stick movement.
For dodging you just side strafe, crouch, boost, or jump.

run in a straight line. crouching does not shit for dodging on KB+M, side strafing takes a good half a second to register so by the time you actually start strafing you're already getting shot to hell, when you jump you're in a very [predictable arc. boosting is literally the only option and you can do it once every 3-5 seconds or so. its a single dodge in a fight that is going to end very quickly. it doesnt feel good. it feels like whoever sees who first wins. like it always was, but with less time to do anything about it.

Is it just me or do custom levels look like shit? I downloaded a fanmade Sidewinder map and it looks like shit, even compared to the original ones. It's not even that the maker did a shitty job, but all the level editor maps look out of place.

I think you have to apply backgrounds or something, the stuff is just flat colors but the sandtrap map I played on was practically like Halo 3's somehow..

just tried it. turned on raw inputs, made sure accel and smoothing were off. even after doing those things, mouse input has some weird shit going on, skipping pixels or something. 500 dpi, 2.0 sens, no other game I play has this problem. i knew they'd fuck up the mouse input.

They should really add some texture options or something. I get they wanted people to be able to make WHATEVER they wanted, but all of them being flat colors like TF2 cp_orange kind of sucks.

Was anyone else able to run it at just below the minimum specs? I was able to run it on my i3-4330 8GB 750ti rig at 900p. But wasn't able to read what FPS I got since it's a UWP app and I don't know how to get an FPS overlay on it.
