Better question. Why did they come with manuals in the past?
Video games aren't that hard to figure out.

These days you dont need them. They literally all play and control the same.

I can pick up most games today and figure the controls out within seconds, and the story is always railroaded to you so you dont need much anyway.

You didn't need them in the past either unless you were retarded. In which case you couldn't read so it was pointless.

Because publishers are cheap-skates.

Why aren't there more games with mouse girls in them?

better game design removed the need for them

>better game design

more user friendly game design

Shovel Knight on 3ds actually comes with a manual. Ended up reading the entire thing before playing the game, albeit partly due to the fact I was downloading the update with Plague knight cause why not get that done with and out of the way. The manual fit the game, I forget exactly, you can probably guess what I mean, it was written kinda middle-agey I think. Not exactly the most useful thing in existance, but all the character descriptions and the style of the instructions (as opposed to just a does this, b does etc.)

Real video games do

Name one that came out in the past 5 years.

>buy resident evil 6 on
>P
>S
>3
>open case, pull out manual
>its literally just a manual cover with warning text and setup instructions written all over it
>play game
>no tutorial whatsoever
>hunnigan tells me she'll send me a digital manual
>never does
>have to go online and find the actual manual on the internet just to know the other half of what the characters can actually do
>once I know i'm now stuck with really fun characters in a really unfun game
i should never have fallen for the re6 meme

The Witcher 3
Shovel Knight on ps4
Disgaea 5
guilty gear Xrd Sign
Nitro Busterz
BlazBlue

But are any of those manuals... in COLOR?

all of them are.

woops actually tw3 isn't

Simply too lewd to include

aka better

because american children cant read

Nazrin is a mouse.

MOAR

...

Nice

Sauce on artist?

gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=list&tags=5240mosu

manuals have been subsumed by unskippable tutorials

Thanks my man

ass

So is this now a mouse thread?

...

w-what is this called?

could you imagine printing these manuals out 1 and a half or 2 months with the disc before the game actually comes out? Everybody patches so much shit in the last minute these days the manual would be outdated on arrival

...

...

theyre an unnecessary expense. companies are satisfied with digital manuals. no need to print a million little books in color.

I personally dislike the change, I dont like having to power on my console with the right game in it to get to the manual.

Why did you stutter?

My breath was taken away.

Save the treeeeeeeeeeees, man.

Yes

...

Because the games rarely have anything in depth enough that needs explaining in a booklet. Not to mention they are able to fit the stories in the game as well so that basically gets rid of all need for it.

whatever happened to that qt mouse stealth game anyways

I dont think rats was their tails when they're happy.

Video games are so easy now they might as well be automatic
