Well for starters they had a bunch of dev's who never played the first game or even did research on it.

This was blatantly seen in PvP in the first few months although I can't speak for later but I also heard the story degenerated knee deep into Mary Sue self insert shit pretty quickly.

I enjoyed the first part of of LS 3 and I'm somewhat hyped for the Mursaat and the Ring of Fire to be back.
Guild wars 1 and 2 are the only MMO's I've been able to enjoy other than EVE and GW2 keeps adding quality of life things that turn me off other MMO's when they aren't there

Game has been on the downslide since launch, you're just slow to realize it.

They honestly should have had the LS Season 1 villain be an ex-pact sylvari-hating general who denounced the pact as unqualified to deal with the dragons and started up a new pact that with 100x more facism and public executions of sylvari

Pretty much the same here. I didn't even play most of the living story. because I got into dota at the time but Jesus that was a shitfest. I still sympathize with the frog post but even taking that into account it's leagues better than WoW ever was. Elementalist by itself is worth playing the game for but the biggest thing was no sub fees. You can just on and off it instead of having to go full shitsocker to do anything but the legendaries.
Do AB meta with a booster 3 times and you're good to go for the rest of the campaign. Even just doing the map chains shits XP. Also learn to abuse LFG to find mobs and just tool along with them. The game got a lot better for me after I learned about that. I went from barely having the masteries to full masteries baring the legendary crafting one in a week or so.

GW2 had potential as a casual MMO, but MMO players are sheep that don't know what they even want, so they followed the raiding audience back to WoW even though almost none of them do any serious raiding. Even now GW2 still has more content for casual players then WoW does.

The MMO community is hands down the worst in gaming and the genre will never evolve because of how delusional they are.

Certain part of the game have areas that effect the graphic in such a strange way. This use to happen in Charr's city before it was fix.

Sylvari story is over. You kill Traeherne and you tell Caithe to fuck off at the end of HoT. It's getting slightly better.

The exp is easy as fuck to get. The mastery points themselves you have to "buy" the masteries themselves with are the problem.

The new mastery is 500k exp which takes a round of AB meta which is like 20 mins. Leyline gliding is next to worthless on Bloodstone fen. If you don't at least have updraft though you're fucked. Ley will be useful for Ring of fire though because there's going to be a big track going around the whole island like a monorail apparently.

Flamethrower kit Engi and Fire Ele are what keep me in the game. Purging with fire never gets old.

If you actually do your research, you'll find that after the initial launch of GW2 almost all senior development and writers left.

They were largely replaced by progressives, who were not qualified for the position, and did not have any prior experience with the guild wars universe.

This clearly shows in how the game has degraded and wasted away after all these years.

Engineer is the best class by far though most normies stay away from it because you actually have to do more than auto-attack

take Archeage, and remove the energy/crafting gear sets. Replace with dungeons/raids and NO PUGS.

Runescape classic but with better stylization and boss/dungeon content so hard they didn't bother to test if it is even possible. Have almost everything done server side and reveal almost none of the inner workings of the game to the end user.

All the Dev's left to go make Gigantic at Motiga. Then got fucked by Microsoft. Now it's owned by perfect world.
