Borrow game from friend

>borrow game from friend
>play it for free
>0 cents given to developers
Perfectly A-OK

>pirate game
>play it for free
>0 cents given to developers
OMG FUCKING PIRATEFAG STEALING GAMES REEE

lol moralfags

But isn't that more like your friend giving the developers $30 (assuming full price) for the two of you since there was still at least one sale?

the developers make a profit from your friends there is a difference you're a faggot

And the person who shared the game bought the game to share it online. He still made a sale.

Fuck off. It's the same shit.

>case 1 - devs get money from friend
>case 2 - devs get no money at all
lol, pirates are retarded when they're trying to justify their wickedness

Friend Buys game: Developer gets money off that copy of the game
You borrow copy of game: Developer still got their money from that copy of game
You pirate the game: Developer does not get money from that copy of the game

...

...

Where did the pirated version come from, thin air?

>You borrow copy of game: Developer does not get money from you. Lose a sale

Fixed that for you.

>1 sale - 2 people play
>1 sale - 15000 finished torrents
Gee I wonder whether you're really retarded or just pretending.
Anyway I really, really hope that everyone sees the light as you did and only one sale for every new game happens while the rest of the players pirate it.
Surely that's the way to get more and better games in the future.

Exhibit A - A purchase was made, then the product was transferred. Only one person gets the game at a time per-purchase.

Exhibit B - One purchase is copied thousands of times and provided to just as many others with no additional purchases.

>buy a game off eBay
>better than pirating

>piracy is only bad in the large scale

Okay, so you're saying stealing 50 cents from a cashier is okay, but stealing $100 is a big no-no?

So if I have a friend that has the game I can just pirate it then? Would be no different than borrowing it from him.

What is the concept of grand theft?
at least it wasn't a food metaphor

If you were following a long, you would realize it's completely different. When you borrow it, the game is TRANSFERRED to you. It's yours. You have the copy now, he does not. He can no longer play unless he buys another copy or decides to take his game back. Similarly, you cannot play anymore after that point unless you go purchase your own copy.

>This denial

So, how many people can "borrow" the friend's game before it's considered piracy? 3? 10? 50?

If the friend lends it to my friend's friend, is it not piracy? If he lends it to another kid after me, is it not piracy? If he lends it to me and I play it with friends, is it not piracy?

Fuck you and fuck your double standards.

Yeah, they also make profit from copy that someone bought, cracked and made into torrent, your point?

lol not applicable to all games

sounds like you're a fan of unnecessary DRM

>it's a piratefags try and rationalize digital theft

Just shut the fuck up and admit that you are a scumbag that doesn't want to pay.

As many as you want, because it's fucking borrowing. There's still only one bike the whole fucking time.

lol wat? How is it not applicable to all games? And what does any of that have to do with DRM?

Situation A and used game sales are pretty much the similar.

The only way the game benefits is through rentals or buying your own. Period.

Digital game sales also mean more money goes straight to the source.

Look when you lend your game to your friend you lose the game and ability to play it

Piracy you both have access to the game and unethically gave the code to the game to others

>piracy is theft

If I was pirating the game and selling it for my own profit, I'd admit it's theft.

But in this case, fuck you. I'm just borrowing some games from a friend in Australia and another one in Switzerland.

>So, how many people can "borrow" the friend's game before it's considered piracy? 3? 10? 50?
You don't have to make up retarded scenarios that never happen in real life.
Borrowing game is never considered piracy. Devs got money for one game and only one person is playing that game. Just because it's different person sometime that's unimportant.
Also there are ways to prevent borrowing completely or partially through various activation schemes if the devs desire.

I never said borrowing equals piracy. Where the fuck did you get that from?

Borrowing means the guy loses his ability to play the game and gives it to you

>Buy game off GoG
>Send copy to friend
>We can both play the game
>This is A OK

>Someone buys game
>Gives me a copy over a website
>This is piracy

>burrow disk from a physical friend
>install game
>give disk back
>play installed game
>a new person is unethically playing a game without having bought a disk

>burrow virtual disk from a sharer online
>install game
>delete virtual disk
>play installed game
>a new person is unethically playing a game without having bought a disk

What's the difference?

>>burrow disk from a physical friend
>>install game

Doesn't work like that

Why do people even give a fuck about what others download? How much of a first world pampered princess do you have to be to act like a moral piece of shit about such a meaningless thing?

I hope you also pay for every single music you've ever downloaded, not use any kind of ad-blocking software ever and instantly close any kind of thing that has unauthorized copyrighted material in it.

And why do people even care about justifying themselves to these manginas? You're just managing to be more pathetic than them.

>omg let me justify myself to this 12 year old literal nobody in an anonymous board!

Grow some fucking balls and just download whatever the fuck you want whenever you want.

Jesus, I miss the old days of the internet without these fucking post-2000 normie pussies swarming it.

>You don't have to make up retarded scenarios that never happen in real life.
What real life do you live in?

>Borrowing game is never considered piracy.
contradicts
>Also there are ways to prevent borrowing completely

Nice flawed logic.

What about those games you install and play without disk?

Scenario 1 almost never works because the game has copy protection and checks for original medium.
Some games lie Starcraft allow that to some degree so you can play multiplayer with friends with only one disk.

How does it work, genius?

I'm not going to justify to you why or when I'm justifying shit to others, you disgusting fence-sitter

>and instantly close any kind of thing that has unauthorized copyrighted material in it.

Hope they start with Sup Forums.

>Stop right there, heathen! M'Lady company whose dick I suck demands a fee! I am Her white knight!
>has a folder filled with reaction images from copyrighted material he keeps plastering everywhere

>What real life do you live in?
The one where a guy who brought game doesn't have a 200 people waiting list from friends who want to borrow said game.
>contradicts
Preventing borrowing = more sheckles for greedy. It doesn't contradict that borrowing != piracy at all.

>I'm n-not g-gonna justify m-myself to you! L-look how I am b-being such a c-contrarian!!!
>keeps justifying himself to others instead

Sure showed me, princess.

You're jealous because you're not remotely fun enough to justify myself to.

But preventing piracy also equals more shekels for greedy. There's no moral distinction to them between the two. They just campaign more heavily against piracy because it's easier to justify it to fags who don't know better.
