I like friendly teams like that

>crates

>Wow!
>Wow!
>Wow!

>dodge towards ball and miss
>it slowly rolls into your goal
>What a save!

>tfw playing 3v3
>the other team scores a goal in the first minute since no one stays behind to protect
>I stay back to goalie
>my other 2 team mates are retarded and keep getting the ball to our side instead to their side
>Have to set up the ball and score it myself
EVERY GOD DAMN TIME

>Start game

>Exit game

Such is the life with chat disabled. fuck the spam

>in top 5% in unranked mmr
>everyone is nice and forgives mistakes
>haven't played ranked much
>decide to rank them up a bit
>down in challenger
>every few games you see people telling each other that they're shit or to kill themselves or something

For what purpose?

Do you guys have any stories of salty people in RL? Here's one
>Losing 0-5
>One minute left
>Guy keeps insulting me
>Within 30 seconds, I manage to make a comeback, and ultimately beat him 7-5
>He begins claiming that I was hacking
>Respond with
"Whatever man, you lost. Deal with it."
>Claims he reported me for Cheating.

How about the new update? Rumble mode is fun as hell.

Wait how come my game doesn't look like this?

That's the crate opening screen.

Yeah but I never have gotten a crate or key

>making shit up

Haven't played since hoops, is this in? Do you get crates and keys as drops like you did with hats and such?

Fuck crates and buying keys, devs let the players down by going that route.

You can get crates but keys are bought

the challenger elite to rising star skill gap is real. every game is a literal crap shoot. made some real progress towards breaking out tonight though. feel like it should be smooth sailing once I get midway or higher into RS, people should pass more accurately/consistently/stop just dishing the ball out to mid willy nilly.

tl;dr post ranks get swerve stay salty

Of fucking course they are

How am I making shit up?

Pretty sure it's not p2w so who fucking cares

That never happens you nigger faggot, go kys kike.

Post stats

It's ranked so it's srsbsns

>420 wins
dank. how'd you break your OT goal count?

Could have at least said you got to 5-5 and then won in overtime, seven goals in 30 seconds and won tho, fuck off.

Have they said anything on a private tournament mode? I'd be interested in doing one on here, but there'd be no way to easily coordinate it both quickly and securely.

I'm bored as fuck does anyone want to play hoops or something unranked?

no but they added team colors and such. family share is still private lobby capable at least i'm pretty sure, just make a throwaway for hosting the lobbies if you're paranoid. alternatively google sheet for usernames and let people lobby among themselves. challonge or toornament for brackets. about as easy as you'll get probably since in game brackets would still need everyone to be buddies on steam or use the private lobby password system.

...

No idea. Looked at my stats once and got confused, but left it like that.
Also, my garage shows the new item exclamation permanently.

They at least made it so items aren't connected to the steam marketplace and the crates drop seperately from regular items
So you can at least ignore it without any consequence

Just rage quit from a ranked game.

How do I "git gud"

Rumble is a lot more fun than I expected it to be

max out fov and practice

practice
practice practice practice

Do those training things.
Especially aerial if you want to stomp noobs

...

I did.

Some people just play so awkward I can't counter it.

Lucky goals from kick off happen all the fucking time.

I just feel so stuck right now.

listen to Fatal1ty here.

realize that every excuse you come up with is bullshit and you just have to git gud

Takes 100s of hours to git gud

Just play unranked for a while so you don't get mad for losing and tilting just makes you play worse. You'll find when you go back to ranked you'll be better than before.

FUCK I KNOW.

I KNOW IT'S NO ONES FAULT BUT MY OWN BUT FUCK.

I JUST CAN'T GET BETTER.

kick off problems resolved by: get big meaty hit square in the center of the ball, land on your tires, watch what the fucker is doing coming at the ball and try to counter it.

awkward fixed by: make strong decisions. they're awkward because they're not doing shit. do shit, do it right, do it fast. if you can't do goal shit, do pass shit. if you can't do either of those go fucking defend and dick stomp some guy on the other team's pass at full boost pads. ez.

Spike OP
Plunger OP

where do I get crates? are they just random additional drops?

>Just rage quit from a ranked game

Start by not doing that.

>Join a Game
>Puts me a in a Game
>0-6
>Losing side
>30 second left
>Wait and lose
>Join another Game
>Puts me on the Losing side again
>0-4, 50 second left
>This goes on for a hour

I really fucking hate this game

>join another game
Why didn't you stay for a new game?

>open crate with steam cards money
>heatwave decal
>finally I get something rare so I can sell it on the community market
>tfw no community market

Fuck. It doesn't even look that good

Just leave the game retard

just stick in one fuckin lobby dude. or play ranked.

I'm just tilted... I need to go hard and stop complaining.

Rank 1 dreams boys.

youtube.com/watch?v=P48abml48JM

Yes. They're on a seperate drop system from items, it takes longer.

>Join game
>0-4 with 1 minute left

>not leaving the moment goal difference is 3 in favor of enemies

>buy 10 keys as they were £6 when the patch was released thanks to a mess up
>had 1 crate in 9 hours of play

Figure out what you're worst at and practice that. When you get better at that, you'll quickly find the next thing you suck at. Practice that and so on forever.

The only thing that stands me apart from my friends who play often is that I practice and they dont and it shows.

Also, no excuses when shit goes wrong. Period. Learn from your mistakes (or your teammates') and don't let whatever happened happen again.

>get up to star last season
>absolutely fuck up my placement in season 2
>start in fucking silver in both 3v3 brackets
>finally make my way up to challenger elite
what a fucking struggle

Why is RL full of passive aggressive faggots? Every time the first goal hits, it's nothing but "Nice shot!" spam or people leaving the match even if it's one minute in.

>20 keys remaining

>tfw every one of my friends suck at this game
>tfw only played this game for 5hours and I'm already a pro

Good practice things to do?

Obviously do the Training every so often.
Free mode to practice dribbling.

Anything else to do?

tl;dr sirlin.net/articles/playing-to-win

Tell me about it
If you fuck up placement and get anywhere below silver star then it's a fucking mess to get out of

Save replays and look at the mistakes you made

>Losing
>team-mate ragequits
>start winning
Feels so good

>Play hoops and score 8 goals in a match
>Still can't into aerial saves

at least you have a good outlook on sucking as well....

Focus down things you suck at. Use the Rocket League Trainer mod if you want, lots of good preset practice shots people have made. Seriously check that link out about playing to win, too. Should help you frame your mindset for srs bsns.

playing rumble after a shit ton of ranked is fun as hell Tbh

>Get to 52% win rate
>Start getting high level fucking players against me.
>Absolutely get dominated and fall down to almost 50%

Is this some forced 50% bullshit? I'm not incredibly amazing at this game, but they suddenly decide to match me with Masters and Legends that fucking rape my shit?

rocketleaguetrainer.com/

download that. It's a godsend for practicing.

Try a few of the starting shots it comes with and you may find something you want to improve on. Wall shots are a good starting point for learning aerials, though.

If you really don't know what you need to improve on, you simply haven't played enough and ranked is probably not a good idea.

they just have deeper bags of tricks. start learning the nuances of what the do to fuck on you, and turn it around on some other sorry losers. the vicious meta cycle.

This is every game ever. They always want people to only have a 50/50 ratio

Rumble is better than I though it would be.
It's like a stress free version of normal games where it's all about fun and wacky shots and nobody cares if they win or lose.
I like whipping the ball around with the plunger and seeing the quickchat go nuts

>face against a team of good players
>want to play them again so I can get better
>they all leave

masters and legends dont mean shit, i've seen some retarded as fuck high levels. its the high ranked people you have to watch out for m8

I always do free play when I start up the game to practice dribbling and wall hits. Even 5-10 minutes each time really helps in the long run.

Also play some 1v1s as they punish you for fucking up so you learn what not to do pretty quickly. It also improves your ball control.

mine could be a lot better Tbh

good
fuck gambling

Rumble is great. I'm so invested in this game that I thought I would hate the new 'party mode' but they picked some really neat tools for the powerups.

I don't feel so bad about bailing on ranked as soon as I hit Rising Star now that there's a new game mode.

>playing 4v4 with bros
>we miss some easy blocks against another stack, still warming up
>still win 4-3
>other team starts talking shit, telling us to rematch and that we suck
>we score three goals in the first minute
>they all leave except one guy
>last thing he says is "you people play too much"

>That one guy who just sits in the goal post all game

Not bad.

My win ratio is about 65%.

Have one of your teammates ram him and put him out of the game for just long enough to make a goal

It's not that difficult

I'm okay I guess

>above average maybe
>keep my title off so nobody can judge me

you know that the moment you hit expert you're throwing that shit on though, right?

Why don't we have a general for this? It's currently #6 on Steam's most played games at 76k players and it's only a year old.

Newer stats

>expert
>turned title off so people can't belittle me for playing bad at that level

>win games
>climb in rating
>play against higher ranked players
>lose games
>lose ranking
That's how any MM system works

Not enough to talk about
Rocket league has the benefit if being super clean and gameplay focused but that means there's not a lot to discuss on a regular basis besides telling people to git gud

No Sup Forums/yotsuba flag

>git gud
That's a whole lot to talk about though.
