Despite being overall decent, it's poorly advertised
Evovle is just a shallow, mediocre game. this is why people don't play it no more even after being free to play.
Battleborn will be the same thing, while it has been overshadowed by Overwatch, the game itself is fundamentally flawed and i doubt it will recover.

Not him, but I can: it looks like the physical manifestation of eye cancer. No matter how good the gameplay, I would refuse to play something as abhorrently looking as Battleborn even at gunpoint.
As expected, Evolve is bad game and this is why it couldn't sustain most of its players.
It's really boring. But Left 4 Dead was fun. Maybe becasue it was fresh?

I can think of many reasons why battleborn is shit
>spawn on the map
>run behind the monster for 15 minutes, even with the new upgrades and trapping shit and whatever else they added
>have one or maybe two battles with the monster for 1 second where the monster awkwardly flops around hitting air most of the time
>time runs out and we win

>spawn on the map
>monster tries to fight
>we kill him easily
It's really not fun. Shame, because it's a good idea, it looks great, feels good, but it's a very badly designed game.
You can tell they smoked shit during development, and apparently never stopped.
what do you expect no game can keep people playing forever if you dont add stuff, also it's not an mmo of some type so every game loses player base when newer games come out.

Evolve's 4v1 just doesn't cut it (or even make sense if they wanted a competitive game)
You can do a lot of crazy shit in left 4 dead that's keep you in the game... like hunter mechanics. It was good, there's even a gamemode builded around it.

I mean, that game was obviously a stillbirth to begin with, but I don't know why lately everyone seems to assume that games have a lifetime of years.
That was only ever really true for a few selected games that had some kind of almost endless progression.
1. There is a fairly strict meta and it becomes too formulamatic
2. Games are heavily decided on your weakest link.
3. Matchmaking takes way too long when most games are fairly short
4. You get punished hard for goofing off
5. Possibly too denanding fir most steam users
Meanwhile buggy as fuck games with horrible endgane metas like DBD survive, so who knows why Evolve died. I can tell you DBD is fun as fuck if you're into horror/stealth and you aren't completely screwed if your teammates suck or you pick a meme build. There is also a lot of mindgames that happen to keep the broken ass game fresh. People start faking popular strategies and exploits (like faking to being a bot) to meme on players.
Good business model does not make up for bad game design.

Team Fortress 2 will always be better then Overwatch. TF2 actually takes skill to be good at.

the community makes solo queue a nightmare, more than any other game I've played so far, hell even LoL, Dota 2 and CSGO solo queues aren't this bad, it makes you wonder if people have actual IRL handicap sometimes
