Decided I want to get into pic related, because it seems to be everything I want from a strategy.
Only other Paradox games I've played are HOI4 and CK2. Any hints/tips/quick guides? I'd rather not watch 3 4 hour videos.
For CK2 I remember being told "go Ireland after 1066, figure it out from there." Is there an equivalent for EU4?
Jackson Richardson
I learned most from playing Ottomans.
Aiden Thomas
pirate it
Michael Lee
I installed it, tried to board my units in ships and just couldnt, it was so frustrating i uninstalled.
Juan Powell
Can I pirate it with all dlc?
Parker Perry
EU4 is trash. literally RNG simulator the whole game is filled with massive bullshit. go play play EU3 or Victoria
Ryder Johnson
haha wow
Xavier Evans
EU is shit since they allowed adding development with mana and entire estates bullshit. But if you absolutely have to play it go for either ottomans or muscovy. Both IMMENSLY overpowered (muscovy especially) and you will be strongest no matter what you do as well as away from european microstates fuckery.
Hudson Cook
I have it pirated with all the DLC. Of all the map painters it looks great and pretty casual-ish, I intend to try Victoria II after this.
Is there any merit to playing a smaller nation? Uniting Ireland looks like it might be fun.
Josiah Robinson
Ireland in Vicky2? you wont achieve much.
Benjamin Ramirez
Thinking about re-installing it tho
Can someone tell me how to fucking board fucking units ?
Caleb Young
nah, in EU4.
Jace Torres
click on unit and click on boat. make sure boat is at sea though.
Jackson Lewis
they have like 5 provinces. if you plan to conquer entire great britain in the name of ireland then sure go ahead. if you intend to stay on hibernia hoverer dont bother.
Easton Garcia
1 transport ship = one unit
There are 4 different ship types Heavy ships which wreck everything Light ships which trade and are good in numbers Galleys that are cheap and get a boost to combat in inland seas like the med Transports ships which transport troops
Joseph Jenkins
Select you transport ships (Starting ones are called cogs) then press the button that says "Transport units". Then, when you have the boats leave port, they will take as many units from that province as they can carry.
Don't do what the other guy did because it takes ages and I'm pretty sure they take attrition damage.
Nolan Clark
i swear to God i clicked furiously on both and it didnt work Wow thanks man, i didnt try to leave port with my boats after clicking "Transport units", fuck
Asher Sanchez
eh muscovy can end you up fucked if novgorod allies with poland
sure most experienced players could easily deal with that but a new player would be fucked in that situation
Owen Martinez
>muscovy can end you up fucked if novgorod allies with poland lol no. poland is busy with teutons which always ally with hungary and you(muscovy) if you want. by the time poland manages to deal with all the shit around them (if they even manage) muscovy is already number one on the planet. in real live russia only became relevant after swedish deluge and only became world power after polish paritions. in EU4 however muscovy can ignore europe and just mop up mongol shits and still have more development then properly led ottoman empire.
Ethan Nelson
Yes, you can. You can even buy the base game and just pirate the DLC, but honestly the multiplayer in any Grand Strat game sucks so the base game isn't really worth buying just for that, and Paradox doesn't deserve to be payed for continually casualizing games, bloating them with needless $2 DLC every four days, locking Vanilla content behind paywalls because "lol we updated it and we can't be bothered to separate vanilla mechanics from the new updated DLC mechanics," and just generally being the scummy jews of the video game industry.
Tyler Reyes
Go play Ottomans, they're retardedly powerful.
Also, whenever you peace out, make sure there aren't too many powerful countries who might coalition you, and that you don't go over 100% overextension. Check the two red numbers in the peace deal screen.
