Takahashi has said that another game in the Xenoblade series would be another typical JRPG-style game like Xenoblade Chronicles again, therefore Sawano would probably not return because his forte isn't in composing typical JRPG-style soundtracks. That, and the fact that bringing in Sawano for XCX was because Monolith wanted to try something new with XCX, not because they want him forever soundtracking their games.
Takahashi also says that the Xenoblade series has always had a different genre for each game, implying that this is what will continue to happen with each Xenoblade game, therefore counting out a sequel to XCX.
>TT: While Xenoblade Chronicles was a true story-driven JRPG, we took a rather different approach with Xenoblade Chronicles X. You could say it doesn't really feel like a typical JRPG: what really sets it apart from other JRPGs is that the game world - the planet Mira - is really vast. I've heard that some Japanese users who played Xenoblade Chronicles X said they enjoyed a more story-driven type of game. So if we have the opportunity to make another game in the series, I'd like to made another typical JRPG-style game like Xenoblade Chronicles again. gonintendo.com/stories/248139...s-continuing-t

>absolutely massive cliffhanger in XBX >no follow up
They'd better fucking not
Andrew Fisher
I love that first track. But the second track.... holy shit. It starts out so well but as soon as the lyrics kick in it falls flat on its face.
Leo Moore
It's not a cliffhanger, it's just a "this story never truly ends..." Ending to complement the open-ended nature of the post-game.
Mason Smith
I thought Chronicles and Chronicles X were both JRPG's. Or is he saying Chronicles had a focus on story, X had a focus on exploration and the next game will be focused on something else?
Parker Morales
Sometimes I pray for Sawano's death before bedtime. I just want him to disappear.
Jonathan Hall
>Xenoblade series has always had a different genre for each game No You mean the Xeno series?
Jason Young
Yeah he's talking about Xenoblade being a true JRPG-style game because it was story-driven.
Charles Cruz
The first one is kind of boring, second one gets you pumped up later on in the song.
Nicholas Williams
Good decision.
Fuck that hack for ruining what is otherwise a decent game.
Evan Hill
>Another Xenoblade more like the first
Sign me the fuck up.
Shame it's stuck on such a shitty platform.
Dylan Sullivan
He just said "Xenoblade series", so clearly he's talking about the Xenoblade series since that's the series he's currently involved with and the series that is on Nintendo consoles being interview by a Nintendo website for Nintendo readers you thick cunt
Nathan Morris
>Takahashi also says that the Xenoblade series has always had a different genre for each game This makes it sound like there's been more than two. I liked XCX, but I loved XC, so I'd be happy to see a game more like it again.
Ryder King
All platforms this gen are pretty shitty tbqhf. Either way you lose.
Aaron King
One can only fucking hopen it goes back to Shimomura. The whole Sawano Vocal tracks thing was interesting for like maybe a year, now everything he does just kind of clashes half the time and doesn't even feel like he's composing anything to fit with what it's supposed to go with at all.
Kevin Robinson
Would you play a Xenoblade Chronicles X port for NX?
>60 fps >1080p >Additional music from other composers >New weapons, techniques and abilities
Ethan Bennett
Sawano has done fantasy music before. >implying you will ever escape him
Elijah Perez
Me too, pal. Me too.
Brayden Nguyen
No
Christopher Gonzalez
I didn't mind Sawano's music, some of it sounded kind of good, but yeah I would be happy if the composer for the first Xenoblade would come back. The tracks in that game were superior.
Landon Walker
>boob slider >uncensored costumes >Jap voices
If you add the above, yes. Also finish the story.
Jeremiah Myers
>leave XCX on a fucking rushed ending with a cliffhanger >the next Xeno won't be a sequel to it
Kill me now Sup Forumsros
Lincoln Campbell
It literally just sounds like shitty Aldnoah Zero music. That's what this brings to mind more than Xenoblade
Nicholas Davis
Shimomura's only wrote a few songs.ost of Xenoblade music was written by ACE+ and Minami Kiyota
I want ACE+ back. Loved to see what they put together for another Xenoblade game
Jeremiah Mitchell
Sawano wasn't even bad, though.
The NLA themes were trash, absolutely. But every other track in the game was serviceable at worst, with most of them being good.
Ethan Howard
I know this is a thread about shitting on Sawano, but I figured I'd post this because I'm so happy.
Fucking finally beat Telethia Endbringer niggers! Just as the sun se
Matthew Bailey
No, but I might be tempted if they remade it with an expansion pack grafted on that fixed design issues and completed the story (without needing Lin and Elma for everything).
Cameron Morgan
Yeah exactly. Just sounds like juvenile melodramatic anime rubbish.
Jose Campbell
blade and blade X are the same genre what the fuck are you talking about
>monolith wanted to try something new for XCX
no they wanted to try something new for XC hence why it's the only fantasy game in a sci-fi series
It's a cliffhanger dude. The hold being empty, no humans anywhere, everyone on the planet knows english, no one can leave the planet, Lao being alive There's so many threads left empty and even introduced in the ending that it's bullshit if we dont get a sequel.
Mason Hernandez
nice, it took ages for me to grind the materials needed for augs, then I ran out of fuel a couple of attempts.
Don't you need to beat it again though?
Levi Fisher
They said in Iwata Asks that they wanted to try something new with the music
Carson Harris
I didn't mention anything about music, I just pointed out how OP is retarded
Isaiah Kelly
>I love that first track. You're going to learn to hate it if you actually play the game because the lyrics are blasted during cutscenes when characters are talking.
Jaxon Green
Same here, took me a long fucking time to grind for augs. I don't even think I want to start a new game now that I know what I know. What skell did you use?
Also, by beating him again do you mean that sidequest The Nopon Heir?
Parker Lopez
It won't be bullshit because the story and characters sucked dick.
Michael Williams
>cliffhanger
People keep saying this but I'm not seeing it. It was vague and shit but it was not at all a cliffhanger.
A cliffhanger ending would be if they got to the lifehold core and then the credits rolled before you actually saw what happened inside. Or if Luxaar nearly killed them and then it ended while they were still in peril.
What we got was not entirely conclusive, but it was intentionally meant to have the player come up with their own answers. This is fairly common in story telling.
Either way, it was still a definitive ending, and a direct sequel would likely not do it any favors. It would either be something expected and thus boring, or it would be something super wacky and people would hate it. Very little room for them to bundle it up nicely and still leave people happy.
Luis Peterson
He's talking about how one is fantasy and the other is science fiction.
Jayden Jones
>open-ended
a new character appearing out of nowhere is not an open ending, it's a cliffhanger
Jaxson Richardson
That is true. I still wanna know more about the planet and why humans crashed there and shit. There's some good build up for a backstory with Elsa but they never follow through. All that game got is a huge fucking world but no story or soul.
Ryder Powell
>no Xenoblade X sequel I just fucking got invested into the characters and world of Mira, come on. This ain't even like Shulk's story that ended, this one had a literal cliffhanger.
Jack Brown
Good. Sawano dropped the ball hard. They hyped him up as if he was going to replicate the Unicorn Gundam soundtrack and he gave us Kill La Kill instead. The abomination of an OST was the worst thing about XCX.
Bring back Shinomura and the gang. Sawano is fucking trash.
Samuel Torres
No. But if they added an actual ending in, I'll wait for a price drop.
Ayden Clark
>Sawano will not return for the next Xeno game >this also mean there is a new Xeno game in production
Leo Wilson
Thank fuck. Someone has some brains.
Jose Johnson
There are 3 times you need to fight Telethia
The tyrant version, the quest version(just need to knock enough health off to end the fight), and the world boss for multiplayer
Daniel Moore
Ares 90, I think it was to do with Orphe, that went exploring and got killed by it, so you don't have to fight it, but I know the feeling, but doing a new PT does mean you see stuff hinting the Elma spoiler you wouldn't have noticed the first time around
Nathaniel Nelson
Par up Ace+ and Revo to create the GOATAT jRPG soundtrack.
Zachary Mitchell
I mean this was already known since January at least.
Hunter Collins
>keeping all of that unsightly shit up on the HUD
I keep forgetting it's there by default. The only things I kept on mine were the essentials: time, map, fuel and mission. All of that stupid online garbage and button tutorials were thrown in the bin the very day I booted up the game.
Congrats on the win, though. I just got the Ares 90 the other day, so I still have a way to go yet.
Asher Russell
How the ever living fuck do I kill the nemesis version?
I can never time it right to fight it when its RP is low enough to kill it off.
Luke Ross
>The Xenoblade series has always had a different genre for each game, with the previous game being fantasy, and now turning to science fiction. I hope we will be able to continue the series like this, exploring lots of different settings, rather than being confined to a specific genre. I don't know how to feel about this, but just imagine the possibilities >mfw noir styled Xenoblade
Levi Harris
Actually Kill la Kill gave XCX, he wrote the XCX ost first :^)
Daniel Roberts
The nemisis version you get the loot if you drain the health bar once and just fragments each bar afterwards. Only thing you get for getting the last kill is xp
Parker Johnson
>Wild West-styled Xenoblade
Evan Nelson
t. muhamad
Ryan Roberts
I'm talking about getting the achievement for killing it. Not just draining it's health bar once.
Logan Mitchell
Oh, there's an Orphe quest that has to do with Telethia? Didn't know. I would like to play through story again one day, but holy shit, just knowing what I have to do again to beat superbosses. If I do start a new game I don't think I want to attempt superbosses.
Thanks user, it's fleeting but the feeling is so great. Prepare for a long journey though, it takes you dozens of hours of grinding for mats. It's either that or you're waiting for Plume/Zero to spawn.
Landon Nelson
Good. XCX was absolute dog shit for many reasons, but the OST stood head and shoulders above the rest in the department of pure unadulterated dog shit. XCX is literally the only game I have ever played on mute because the OST was THAT bad.
Bring this god among men back. Xeno games deserve him.
Liam Myers
>Musical Xenoblade
Jayden Morales
post best party member
Camden King
All soundtracks he's done since Kill La Kill have been the same kind of Mika Kobayashi shrieking vocal shit that barely fit the segments they get used for. He's never going back to the style he used for Unicorn nor is he ever going to try to match anything to what it's going to get used for anymore.
Christopher Campbell
Is there anything NOT related to story, music and party members that you would like to see in the next Xeno game?
I know going from XC to XCX, having the option to sprint was highly requested. Being able to break appendages off of enemies was a cool inclusion, too.
Brody Cruz
...
Ian Green
Thank fucking god.
The man CAN sometimes make great tracks but it is always ruined by how he just seems to have a fetish for shoving in shitty vocals.
David Harris
>no matter what, there are still mechs and gnosticism
>noir detective story >WITH MECHAS TO FIGHT GOD >wild west story >WITH MECHAS TO FIGHT GOD >musical game >WITH MECHAS TO FIGHT GOD >hospital drama >WITH MECHAS TO FIGHT GOD
Nathan Wright
Is he another Shimomura? Shimomura can't let go her KH style
>That third spoiler Doesn't Elma answer that in Chapter 5 by saying "IT'S SOMETHING ABOUT THIS PLANET"?
Bentley Bennett
Glad someone else thinks this.
Based on all the scifi conventions they used, I felt like it was pretty obvious that the data of the computers was integrated into the planet itself, the same way the planet's capable of conveying thoughts and feelings as communication between races that don't know one another's language.
A sequel would already have all these alien species present, conflicts resolved, life being lived. About the only thing you could do is follow them rebuilding machinery they already built once (especially easy with all the extra alien help) just to make human bodies, and have them say "Well yeah, the planet stored our computer data" which we already know. To make a video game conflict, it'd have to be something really contrived like fighting the consciousness of the planet itself, despite almost every property of the planet being passive in XBX.
Logan Jackson
>mecha hospital drama pls fund
Carter Mitchell
>Horror Vampire setting a la Bram Stocker >WITH MECHS
Blake Collins
Sawano's field themes are way more memorable than a bunch of XC's though. You can't tell me that Sylvalum and Oblivia aren't on the same tier as Satorl (night) and Gaur Plains. Honestly, I think if he was added to XC pack or if the producers restrained him a little more it would have been one of the best OSTs out there.
>Wild West >Mecha I don't think I can express just how hyped I would be for that.
Luis Martinez
>Survivial Horror with Mechs >limited fuel supplies >zombies will sometimes spawn inside of your Mechsuit while you're away so if you don't check it you might have to have a close quarters encounter with one >zombies can scale your suit and bite you while you're driving >having to fight a colossal undead monster without your suit because you thought you could use your mech to escape >yfw there is no escape
Michael Butler
>Sawano would probably not return because his forte isn't in composing typical JRPG-style soundtracks.
I find that kind of strange since I think Sawano is at his best when his music is going with essentially a set piece.
Grayson Adams
They could take Yelv's dangling plot point and use it to justify getting out of the magic space bubble and finding other people while aliens react to disguised robots warping in from another dimension to say hello.
Sebastian Diaz
I would play it on a pc emulator with hd textures.
Luis Hughes
I'd like to see something not quite a sequel, but taking place in the same universe. Perhaps another of humanity's arks going more Space Opera, a la Macross's Colony ships. Through them we'd hopefully get answers about the war that lead to Earth's destruction and humanity's place in it, while they look for a planet to colonize. They could also perhaps hear rumors and whispers about Mira and the White Whale as well.
Colton Morris
So you think that's interesting enough to write an 80 hour story about? Just some whispers and rumours and a little travel into space?
Hudson Fisher
I don't see a problem with the HUD, minus the chat window.
Blake Hill
Music was fine.
I want the cutscenes and animations fixed.
Henry Flores
His stuff sounded out of place a lot of the time in XCXs cutscenes. He wasn't given any descriptions of the scenes really and just wrote some "sick" Sawano drops. No thanks. It sounds cheap.
Asher Hill
> playing X without the online Oh user...
Eli Collins
XCX has a ton of "oh shit!" moments, so I could see that working.
>taking your mech through the city >get out so you can investigate some abandoned building >suddenly a stampede of zombies floods out of the building >shitting your pants, you run back to your mech >open the latch >a zombie is inside >it flops out and latches onto you as the horde draws in from behind
Parker Diaz
>large influential sci-fi series of a space station hospital that services all species >full of sci-fi hospital drama
Someone introduce Takahashi to Sector General
Leo Long
You can't replace that man. It's not possible.
Luke Watson
Nothing of value would be lost. Tha game itself won't be worse.
While you're at it, bring back the lovely British dub full of British stage actors and chuck out the generic American anime dub voice actors.
Logan Moore
We never get answers, she just thinks it's strange. Which it is. How come every race on the planet knows and speaks english. How come the names of things are english. What is the fucking deal with Mira. WHY WONT YOU TELL ME YOU FUCKING HACK JAPS.
Yelv's plot point isn't important though. It's just a matter of going "Ok, we have robot bodies controlled by data to act human. How about we see if fake data works too?".
Pretty much a prototype run of replicants from Bladerunner. Now that conflict's over and they have the means to make human bodies again, all that could lead to is manual labor, but once mimeosomes are out of the picture, that's a bit too obvious to implement.
