If they can make VR fun, then fucking radical, it would be pretty gosh darn neat. But from what we've seen, the slow down of game development, the existing game being wagglin' throw the ball bullshit and it's 699.99 price tag, VR isn't worth it right now you dozy cunt.
Owen Baker
>No replies because it challenges the narrative poorfags have built.
Austin Martin
I'm waiting for the vive 2. I want foveated rendering and a higher resolution. They better hurry though.
Elijah Clark
I don't like first person action games to begin with, they never feel like they control right, so VR does nothing for me
Fine by me if others like it
Matthew Nelson
it still wont take off with a heavy price tag. You also still have to consider people don't want to play an upwards of 1-2 grand from scratch just to experience VR
Juan Jackson
>people don't want to play an upwards of 1-2 grand from scratch just to experience VR So get what's compatible with what you have? If you don't have a i5/970 at this point and you thought you were ready for PC VR you're fucking retarded anyway tbqh.
Isaac Sullivan
Onward will probably set the standard of how movement in VR works until they figure out something better. It really is great.
Lincoln Morgan
>fun again ..... Wut
David Green
>paying $2k+ just to play 1 game Yeah, no.
Jeremiah Evans
so you dont think the FPS genre as a whole is stale ?
Jack Watson
What if they just made Virtual Reality arcade machines?
Nathaniel Richardson
How does movement in Onward work?
Kevin Jackson
And dont forget you need a huge ass room as well just so you can move your hands and not hit something
Zachary Hill
No we need more fps than fear and riddick instead of cawwadootys
Wyatt Davis
This will give tbagging a whole new meaning
Plus the VR sex is going to be great with real people
Whoever makes a VR game where you can join anonymous people and talk/fuck them with your avatar is going to be a billionaire.
Jordan Adams
>I am not supporting this at all, but THEY BETTER HURRY
Cameron Powell
utilizes the trackpad on the controllers to control movement
Jayden Jenkins
>My face when someone was thrusting their pelvis in front of my face in the Dota 2 VR spectator room during TI. It's not that easy to ignore, because they actually have to get in front of your face and do the motion, it's not the same as someone pressing a button, I was legit uncomfortable, then I started doing it.
William Carter
did you get a boner?
Blake Hernandez
I'd only get it for something like thief or arx fatalis
Even that at maybe a 20€ price tag.
David Mitchell
Nah, got bored and started watching the game.
Jaxon Butler
So we're .hack now?
Luis Price
So it basically controls the movement with a controller?
Motherfucker, that's revolutionary. Goddamn, VR IS the future. Tell me again why every shitty VR game isn't doing this?
Logan Rodriguez
>Tell me again why every shitty VR game isn't doing this? "Muh motion sickness" Literally.
Ethan Foster
As a massive FPS fan I'm excited as fuck for VR
In 10 years' time when the tech is actually properly developed and doesn't look like a fucking Android Unity 3D game made by Malaysians
Julian Torres
I know it sounds retarded, but no other VR games have tried it, it's just either you can only move within your play space or do that retarded teleport trick.
William Ortiz
thing is the game in OPs vid was developed by ONE man, imagine what a studio team could do even now
Ian Moore
just like fps on the wii was a HUGE HIT
Chase Parker
? We're not talking about the Wii though?
Kevin Phillips
>muh vr
Enjoy wasting 900 dollaridoos in garbage.
Tyler Scott
>yet another "I want to justify my $600 paperweight" thread
Xavier Rogers
it is but it's to expensive, it needs a commercial version
Jace Morris
>tfw the virtuix omni flopped hard because they jumped the gun and didn't design it around the vive Press f, motion sickness joystick movement is all we'll get
Jaxon Sullivan
My only real complaint about VR is why I can't use my Vive as a monitor. I should be able to play any game with it without having to have it run on my headset and my monitor. I can understand now having the head tilt shit, but you can't tell me that simply running it on the headset is such a chore.
Bentley Butler
So finally a VR game that doesn't lock you into a tiny space or do that retarded teleport shit? Did the guy making that just say "fuck motion sickness, use the thumbstick/pad to actually move around"?
Noah Reed
>>it makes FPS >>fun again >>new and interesting >>innovative >>something people want to try out and play
I disagree I think the biggest problem in games now is lack of design. No one cares about game design, so they make shit games. Lots of people don't really think about game design very seriously. They think it's all ideas, and think of design in a really basic way. I'm just afraid VR is another excuse to forget about design and to continue to make shit games (albeit ones that are novel for a little while) I think VR is exciting, but until devs actually design good games, I think it's likely to actually hold them back and won't be more than a gimmick. If developers were even close to reaching the ceiling of design potential in non-VR games, you'd be very skeptical of VR, and seeing the games being made for it now, you'd think it was a massive regression.
