Simple, streamlined, instantly recognizable, and colors are used to distinguish them from each other.

What did people think of Sonic Riders? It's an okay racing game, but it's too easy I think. There's not a lot to do after finishing the story aside from doing challenges, but I can't really be arsed trying to 100% complete them. This goes for both games.
I'd be interested in a third game, maybe. I do think the series has a bit of a balance problem though, power characters underperform in my opinion. Their gimmick is a little useless after all, knocking things out of the way to make short cuts is fine and all but it doesn't really benefit if someone else can use it too

I liked how a lot of the characters had the same stats, or they all had a default board that had the same stats. You could pick your favourite without having to worry about losing functionality. I kinda wish there were more crazier board options though.

That's one of the benefits I like about the Archieverse after the reboot. All the new characters look like they could fit right into an official Sonic game.

Compare the stuff pulled directly from SatAM from anything original to the comic at all and there is a huge difference in quality. They are so afraid of the dark ages of the comic now that every new character's design is very "safe" and looks exactly like Sonic as far as their body just as pointed out. Except unlike game characters, their silhouettes aren't distinct, and are often cluttered.
