Started playing NOLF2. Seems like more of a stealth focused game which is a bit disappointing. The ability to lean is nice though.

Also it blew my mind that the drunk guy in every mission of NOLF 1 was the mastermind of H.A.R.M.

Dark Forces 2 and oh boy did they make most of the guns look like shit

Pretty sure there's mods to improve the weapon models and textures if that's your thing.

I always thought this game was on the Doom engine so I never tried it.

What are some good FPS games that take advantage of verticality? No Quake.

Well, it depends on the level. NOLF2 had parts which were even more action focused than NOLF1 and parts that were literal stealth only.
I think the game is pretty great up until super soldiers.

Good answer. Level design feels very experimental in Jedi Knight, like they went crazy with the possibilities of full 3D so they made big towers and sprawling aquaducts and shit. My stomach would probably drop out if I played it in VR.

My pick would be Alien vs. Predator (1999), in particular the alien levels that have tons of crawling up elevator shafts and on the ceilings of big rooms. They almost feel like Descent levels with how vertical and twisty they are.

The mouse smoothing is absolutely retarded. Is there a way to fix that? Setting it to 0 didn't make it any better.

Serious difficulty is a meme.
With the bloated amount of ammo they throw at you it ends up being easier than hard difficulty most of the times, SS3 did it way better.

It's really easy though, despite just playing on Normal right now. I'm pretty sure the comics give Jackie way more powers though?

TSE has OP weapons like the sniper and flamethrower, TFE Serious is legit significantly harder due to the increased damage and enemy spawns.

TFE had cannon and its ammo being way to easily available in later stages of the game.
Final level is literally a joke because you can just cannon everything.

they did a fair bit of it in dark forces 1 but the limited ability to look up and down made it aweful

I wish I knew. I've been dying to replay NOLF1 but the mouse makes it unplayable.

NOLF1 worked fine with me when i set mouse smoothing to max and turned down my DPI

I hate the movement gimmicks like sliding and shit, if it wasn't for that it would have been perfect

disagree, love the level design and use of multiple floors in Dark Forces, the limited up/down looking never bothered me

Going up was fine but going down I was never sure if I was going to fall to my death.

Brutal Doom, with the custom made campaign for it. Its amazing all the effort it went to that campaign, with all the details and stuff.
After im done with it, ill play some Hellbound or maybe any other Doom 2 wad.

Halo 5 does a pretty good job, 5's gameplay in general is surprisingly really good

You still get some weird jittering occasionally though.

PC players went back to BF4.

I got the 1st and 3rd(or 4th) issue of Darkness, along with other comics, as collateral for a drug trade years ago. Jackie is a fucking badass. If I had more money at that time I would have kept up with the series.

I tried to get into crysis 3 but I just can't. Crysis 1 was better in every way and the alien design was great but they fucked it all up with 2 and 3.

Topping the boards, can't tell if it's just the fact everyone else sucks or not though.
Seems like I aim decent enough though. It's a pretty good testing ground for it, especially if you set up joystick movement and use the left thumpad as a movement method. Surprised how good it is at navigating Xen. Played that Tomb map just fine too.

same devs as project reality which I used to play a shitton of.

I get major lag spikes on an intel CPU now and I don't know why.
