Even putting in funding, its a better business venture after the somewhat flop that was Surge, though that's mostly the fault of Ciel just being a mess implementation wise. Why they thought a goldfish sim, split into chapters, that you had to pay for each, and linked heavily to its sequel, is beyond me. Then theres KT's whole idea of "oh you dont need to have played Ciel to understand Surge, its fine, really!" when we got it.
But maybe he really did think this was the better venture, either way, shit sucks.

Because unfortunately slice of life, the main genre where modern anime totally crushes it with great shows, is barely a thing itself with like 1-2 shows a season if you're lucky. Why they don't take every romcom or harem and delete the male MC is beyond me; would simultaneously get rid of the faggotry, retarded misunderstandings and annoying melodrama while also tripling the amount of slice of life shows, which are almost guaranteed masterpieces so long as Kyoani's name isn't on them, all in one go.
