I am legitimately dumbfounded in regards to how you would actually need all that to beat the Cleric Beast.

Christ. That boss is optional anyway. It's not that difficult to learn from your mistakes against Cleric Beast since it's literally designed to teach you about dodging and attacking. You don't wait for an enemy to finish attacking before you attack, you get the fuck out of the way of it's attack and do a few of your own while it recovers or starts a new attack. Use the dodge and be aggressive, the enemies are designed to fuck you if you wait for openings so what you're meant to do is make your own and play aggressively.

....why would anyone attack the boss's giant arm? he uses it to attack you, it must have no weakness then or else he'd be hiding it

Orphan is all about getting a good pattern, just keep doing it until you get a pattern that isn't spamming kill moves over and over.

Because if you do enough damage you'll cripple it. Think and play aggressively; if a boss is using it's huge arm to attack then don't try and avoid the arm, try and break it to weaken him and get some sick crit damage.

Are you retarded? The fucking Dragonrider from DaS2 has more hp than Cleric Beast, and it's in a way slower game.

Next time you come across a boss, spend the first attempt not trying to win, but to learn it. Evade constantly; don't bother attacking. Learn what its patterns are and its attacks are. Keep an eye out for anything that tells you "I could attack now and not die". Then, keep doing this until you know for a fact that opening is not a trap and is in fact what you should look for.

Die, then do this again, until you really have it down. Then on the 3rd attempt slaughter the fucking thing because the fights aren't timed and you took your time to learn the enemy and overcome it, as most are wont to do.

Doing this breaks the game into Easy Mode, though

Don't listen to , Cleric Beast can oneshot you if you try going toe to toe with him. Stay behind him at all times and take the fight slowly, when he's at 1/4 health start spamming molotovs to close out the fight.

That's not the same situation, guns kill in one hit, not against a boss.

I mean, Mikolash was a professor after all, and was actually probably pretty popular with his students if he convinced all of them to wear that banging head wear.
