Super Mario Galaxy was good, but I was disappointed by how it got a sequel so soon. Especially because 64 and sunshine have been gathering dust in nintendos vault

the only real platforming was limited to the non-fludd sections and singular shine sprites on certain levels. Most of the rest was cleaning shenanigans and puzzles.

The game is shit, Mario is not a collectathon in a small handful of levels. Mario is a linear platformer with 50+ levels each with a start and finish. Stars gives you invincibility not unlock more levels, coins don't heal you, two hit's and you're out, fool. Where's the damn timer? 3D Land is the best since it's actual 3D Mario. 3D World was okay since it let you play with other characters and borrowed heavily from SMW's aesthetic. Galaxy games were great in their own right, almost a compromise between the 64 style and the current style. I'll give 64 a pass because it literally invented 3D platforming and it was good for it's time but Sunshine can fucking disappear forever.

Super Mario 64 Multiplayer got it to work somewhat, Sunshine Multiplayer will probably get it working in some form over time.

Mario has been in platformers, rpgs, board games, mini games, racing games, sports games and 3d platformers. There is no definitive Mario experience, because he's done it all.

Each 3d Mario game was great and an instant classic. Just because your retarded head can't function properly to understand it, doesn't make it any less true. 3d land/world is much more bland and generic than the other 3d games, and more akin to the 2d platform games.

It wasn't a worthy successor to 64, but it was a great game nonetheless. Galaxy innovated much more and arguably was more of a 64 sequel than Sunshine, at least in terms of having an imagination and inventive mechanics that pushed Mario in new directions rather than half-new like Sunshine.

If the whole game would have been those challenge courses it would have been good.
