How did Nintendo manage to go an entire generation without making a single good Mario platformer?

I don't know, they even made sure to make Mario Sunshine not a launch title so they had more time to fix it, and yet it was still garbage. Why didn't the Gamecube and GBA get any good Mario Platformers is a great question, OP.
NSMB U is mediocre.
3D Land is pretty good.
World is great.
NSMB2 is just plain average, uninspired and dissapointing.
>nu-mario artstyle
3D World is great and Luigi U is too if you aren't a disgusting casual.
Make that two generations.
>3D World
>not good
I can understand the NSMBs and 3D Land, but 3D World is easily the strongest out of those games and good.
They're all good. 3D is actually very good.
They're just not great.
Luigi U is literally just more of the same shit from U, its not difficult at all.
Don't know how this meme got started.
