>inb4 you can't OC your CPU with that mobo you double retard
OCing on this one was unlocked in a BIOS update.
Now that this is out of the way, I'm in dire need of more RAM and an SSD. Possibly a bigger HDD, but I get by. Maybe a decent sound card, too. Perhaps a bigger screen.
nah, i can run shitty console ports fine
I desperately need a new graphics card.
Just kidding, I never even fucken use this fucken computer lmfao, I play all my games on console and just use this for work
OP here. I pretty much play anything new on console, but for older stuff pre-2010 I use the PC. Most of the games I get into these days are exclusives, and I like having the option to just buy a game without worrying about which system it's on. Idort God for life, friend.
how's my PC desu
I need validation
I'm gonna upgrade my GPU next.
its shit
Really strong. Could probably max out a lot of stuff at 1080p, or on high at the very least.
I desperately need new CPU and more RAM, GPU can stay.
What's preventing you?
I recommend a 480 to future proof. 480 is the new 7870.
Other hobbies and pessimism about current state of gaming industry (no new games worth playing).
>no new games worth playing
A curious idea.
Can't max out shit anymore, but don't want to dro the cash to do so
shitty situation
>480 to future proof
>a mid range card
>future proof
So would my craptop be able to run space hulk deathwing?
Dunno if I should get a new screen.
4k is too demanding, 1440p feels like a stop-gap measure, I'm pretty confident that Volta/Navi next year will finally make 4k a reality.
No
I have the distinct impression that at this point the bottleneck is my mobo and I can't really upgrade anything without upgrading everything.
Can anyone confirm/deny?
Confirm. The only 'upgrade' path open to you is 6350/8350, which is a waste of money.
I need to upgrade my monitor but I don't really feel like spending the money for it
Its basicly a shitty prebuilt I could barely safe this generation with the gpu. I still can run most games 1080p 30 fps or just supersample from 720p but i think the neo will kill this build or at least force me into sub 30 fps, 720p resolution.
Haven't upgraded my PC in some years, besides my GPU. How can I upgrade my pc? I have a 1920x1080 monitor/tv, using it as a tv temporarily till my new tv arrives.
It's ok but I still prefer consoles for gaming over pc.
Cool thanks. I'm ok with this
I've had a plan to completely redo my computer late 2017ish but with how slow things are progressing tech wise... I feel as I might leave it how it is. In every game I have, the first thing I do is turn off things like motion blur, bloom, AA (odd personal preference) just because they're annoying to me and that alone bumps me way over 60fps. I built this computer right as the first batches of i7 cpus hit the market and with a stable 4ghz OC, is there even any "must have" PC games that will be bottlenecked by this?
Other than storage and the GPU, everything is how its been for the 7 or so years I've been using it.
I have 3,000 Canadough set aside for a rebuild but I'm constantly asking myself... why...?
Yes.
Kill me pls.
Don't have speccy installed but my CPU is long overdue for an upgrade. Its a first gen I7 860 2.8ghz.
Its been great for the 7 years I've had it but its starting to be a major performance bottleneck for newer games.
I have $200 saved up. Should I get a 3GB 1060?
The 3gb 1060 is a fucking 1050, don't bother
Get the real 6gb 1060, you'll thank yourself
Just filed a claim on the 970 class action lawsuit page
Hopefully it won't take too long to get my $30
gtx1070 coming in next week aww yiss
...
Thought about getting a 1070 laptop. This one has served me well for close to 5 years now.
>Black Friday '08 special emachine
8 years
1070 desu senpai
...
Not if he's staying at 1080p. Would be a waste
I'm too lazy to download a program to view the full specs, so
pcpartpicker.com
here ya boys go
>computer fucks up a while back
>get new hard disk because old one becomes unreadable
>unhook my two 1TB hard disk and hook up a single 1 TB
>reinstall everything fresh
>since then hav ebeen having memory crashes and random freezes (usually caused when trying to load an extra large image or something)
>as far as i can tell everything is hooked up properly
>cant run intensive high end games without it crashing to desktop after 20-60 mins
>beeping into whirring sounds and shit anytime I access folders
help me
oops forgot spccy
Were your two drives in raid or something before?
...
rate me. pretty ok?
I bet your PSU is as cheap as your computer.
I made her from scratch like 7 years ago or so and the hard drive that failed was an old drive from even further back atleast 10+ years
dont think i ever turned on raid.
I just hooked up both disk and could use both freely
my PSU is an antec620 btw
About to buy GTX 1070 on Newegg. A bit nervous about spending $400 for just one part, its my first time building a PC too. Hopefully this thing can run games at 1080p 60fps for years
Can the rest of your system keep up?
I don't have anything else yet. It's my first time building a pc, I plan on getting an i5 6600k too.
This shit expensive as fuck, I literally have no cash after just buying 2 parts
Don't buy it in pieces, save up and get it all at once.
If you buy it in parts and pieces it's just sitting there collecting dust and wasting money not doing anything
By the way, how much time does it take for parts to lower in price on Newegg?
For GTX 1070 and i5 6600k, will it take more than 6 months for those to drop? Because I don't think I can wait that long. Maybe during the holidays there will be a sale but not sure if that applies to all GPUs
rate it
Don't expect gpu prices to drop. You might catch some other parts on sale, but usually only like $5 off or something
Prices usually only drop when new shit comes out, and right now everything is current gen so discounts aren't as good
What's my bottle-neck?
>970
>1080p @ 60hz
pleb shit
Power Overwhelming
Nothing too bad
It would help if you could overclock your cpu. Rest is fine
>i5
lol
thanks. i really didn't know.
The king of i5s. Nothing wrong with it.
IM GOOD I LIKE TO THINK BUT I WOULD LIKE TO SWAPOUT MY 750TI WITH A 1080
The only reason I have anything relatively recent is because I had to replace my 8800 gt about half a year ago because it was dying. I have a dire need for an upgrade.
i5 6700K is better
i9 6900k is even better
Not by much.
the fuck are you doing with all that storage?
>69
Nice.
>Anyone else in dire need of an upgrade?
tell me about it nigga
>can't swap out gpu without getting a new motherboard and psu
>can't get a new cpu without a new cooler
>hardware prices are astronomical in my country
>Can't max out shit anymore
>playing unoptimized AAA games
Where do you live?
Poland
I guess I could get stuff from germany or uk if i bulk buy
