bloodborne is probably the weakest in the series

Fallout 4 just because it probably ruined Fallout. Next titles will probably continue the trend of no RP in an RPG series and shitty dialogue/writing.

Skyrim is awesome, and one of the best games of its generation. Fallout 4 is a monumental disappointment that barely qualifies as the best game of its year. Skyrim just had the better world, better music, better quests, better artstyle, and was, in general, a highly compelling game to play from the get go- something that Fallout 4 lacks. There is also the fact that Skyrim struck the perfect balance between nuance and accessibility- things were 'dumbed down,' so to speak, but there was incredible depth there too, for anybody willing to put in the work. Fallout 4 has been dumbed down so much (the new conversation wheel, the leveling up mechanics), that it barely qualifies as an RPG any more.

Fallout really feels like Bethesda's stepchild. They always seem to find a way to fuck up the lore and the overall atmosphere and feel in both Fallout 3 and 4. In the end I suppose all their games lack quality content, probably since their main thing seems to be open worlds full of locations that you can explore at any time at any order, and that is just a side effect. Their games always seem to end up being a hoarder grindfest and never seem to go much past that.

I can still turn on Skyrim and have fun, Fallout 4 is phoned in garbage on the most basic level.

Fallout 4 by an incredible margin. Skyrim is just so dull. Terrible characters, no plot to speak of and quests that were so boring and aimless I honestly think they were made for a laugh to see if people would actually go ahead and do them.

Skyrim is a game made for mods, a hollow shell completely devoid of personality and character handed to the community to see if they could salvage something from the ashes. Fallout 4 is a great game even without mods and made much better with mods, as it should be.

Morrowind: amazing, Oblivion: passable, Skyrim: please, just fuck off

Every complaint you have about fallout 4 can be levied against Skyrim. Skyrim isn't a better rpg at all. It does have better music, but apart from that they are both shitty games that want to make retarded people feel like they are playing an rpg.

I've decided that I just can't get into Bethesda games. I've given Fallout 3, Fallout 4, and Skyrim all a chance and I just can't get into them. They probably are well-made games, but I can't find the hook. Which is odd because FPS and RPGs are among my favorite genres. I'll probably skip the next Fallout and Elder Scrolls.

Both games ruined their respective franchises, and were targetted at people who never even played the franchise before. On top of this, both were technical messes. While I enjoyed them both, they are both far from good. Comparing these two games is like seeing which of two chinese bootleg knockoff toys closer resembles and actual product.

A better comparison? Morrowind vs Fallout NV. At least with those games you can make some interesting arguments about mechanics and the structures of quests and such.

All that aside, to actually answer your question, I did enjoy Fallout 4 more than Skyrim, but not by much. Basically it was like picking the shit sandwich that had just a teeny, tiny bit less shit in it than the other one.

It was the settlement building that made FO4 slightly less shit than Skyrim, in my opinion. Again, that really isn't saying much

For its time, Skyrim was actually GOTY, the graphics were stunning and the gameplay wasn't a slouch either.

Fallout 4 by far, like it is not even a challenge. Say what you will about Skyrim but at least it still holds up today thanks to mods. I've never seen such a broken game that modders had to come out of the woodwork and patch the game to improve the performance because Bethesda couldn't be bothered to do it themselves

At least at its worst Skyrim is tolerable, Fallout 4 becomes a borefest once you are aware of how the game works

Fallout 4. Not even close.

Skyrim was semi-enjoyable despite being the shallowest release in the series. They still created a world that was fun to explore (draugr dungeons aside) and had a backstory/setting that was somewhat intriguing. Fallout 4 has none of that. I don't care about some fucking baby. I don't care about some shit covered settlers with raider problems. Why is there a Super Mutant encampment right outside the main settlement?
