Why the fuck do I deal way less damage when underwater? Seriously fuck this retarded aspie game.
Why the fuck do I deal way less damage when underwater? Seriously fuck this retarded aspie game
Anything moving through water is going to be slower than moving through air, be it a mellee weapon or projectile. Stop being a cunt
But what if it's a magic attack?
Have you even equipped a decent underwater weapon?
Remember when everyone thought this game was going to be about dragons?
>hurr durr real life physics durrr
Phuck oph phaggot. We're talking about video games here.
Probably because you don't have a very good water weapon? Your weapons are different for water combat, depending on your class; trident, spear, harpoon etc.
underwater combats practically been abandoned
I don't even think the new class with the expansion even had a full set of working underwater skills when they released it
Ranger spear and harpoon. The only useful skill is the piranha skill. Fuck every other.
Also underwater on the whole is fucking boring and slow.
The jellyfish skill is ok
They're not even capable of balancing normal combat. Water's been completely abandoned.
>phuc oph phaggot
seriously, what the fuck is wrong with you?
please super kys
What was the point of adding it if it's shit?
>super kys
wow dude
Because the game is garbage. It literally doesn't even matter what gear you wear. You can wear a level 1 white weapon and compare it to a level 80 legendary and then calculate the difference between stats. It's like a 12% difference.
Just another feature you can list on the back of the box.
I never thought the combat itself was that bad, but the questing and shit related to underwater areas was crappy. Hearts is a terrible system to replace actual quests.
Also, I felt like the aggro range and leash range was completely fucked underwater. It felt really inconsistent a lot of times.
It's been about dragons for the past 2 years.
>It's like a 12% difference
But that's 12% more damage!
>mfw people thought this would be the WoW killer back in 2010-2012
Salad dragons don't count, because we've already had to deal with salad shit for a long time as well.
GIVE ME JORMAG
can you met qts irl in this game?
no furry faggotry
no.
was that dot necessary
At least play the game before posting
That recent shark event made me realize it's been months since I last fought something underwater in this game
It's Primordus now, we're going to the ring of fire islands next week.
>Comparing Level 0 vs Level 80
nice bait
It is, but it just displays the disparity of how much your gear doesn't actually matter. You can wear as much ascended items you can fit on your character and you still get your ass handed to you in PvP by a level 10 just because of softcaps. You also lose 100% of the fights if that same situation would be a 1 vs 2. You kinda feel like you're not progressing after having spent hours on your character.
Go ingame, equip a level 1 white weapon, then compare your stats to a level 80 legendary, you retard. This is LYING to you.
109 - 121 strength applies only if you're LEVEL 1. Your get gets up and downscaled depending on your softcaps. Go equip jewelry with +120 power. Now exchange it for one with +20 power. The effect? Wearing the +20 power amulett gives you +96 power, where as the +120 power amulet somehow only gives you +102 power.
So much abandoned stuff in this game.
>Playable Tengus + Dominion of the Wind (data mining early builds of the game was showing it)
>Playable Skritts (control three of them at the same time)
>Entire zone north of Divinity's Reach
>Several HoT legendaries were abandoned to channel devs toward the new story season
>Underwater combat is abandoned since 2011
>SAB. Will never be finished, was the brain child of a dev that left the company long ago
I comparing the weapons the guy I was quoting said have 12% difference.
Nothing gets upscaled retard.
Fuck that shitty fucking shark, took me 3 times to kill it.
>Nothing gets upscaled retard.
You're fishing with too much bait, retard.
I thought this region is not playable in the game?
>I comparing the weapons the guy I was quoting
But he said a level 1 and a level 80.
That sword is level 0.
Check and mate, nigger.
did you never play guild wars 2?
This game is shit.
>It doesn't matter what gear you have
/thread
no progress braindead game that you play for achievement points because thats the equivallent of gearscore in gw2.
>not posting your stats before and after because you know you're wrong about it
It wasn't but we sometimes get new maps with the Living World updates.
youtube.com
Do you have a decent underwater weapon?
Don't tell me you kept some level 5 spear and expect it to compete against max level exotics.
Good job deliberately not focusing on stats, eventhough that was the main point.
Or did you slowly realize how utterly useless gear is and that you bought into a meme?
The skills of the weapons are shit. That's the point.
And with no ability to make a decent build yourself, you're just stuck with the same shitty ass skills forever.
That's not Lazarus, is it?
It's weird that GW2 takes the exact same formula as Guild Wars (not much statistical character progression, end game is cosmetics) and fails so hard where GW soared.
Maybe it's the lack of very deep build customization
it's definitely the lack of build customization at all
>binding skills to weapons
This killed the game.
Yes it's him.
youtube.com
Since the end of Heart of Thorns it seems the devs remembered that the GW lore is more than salad romances.
>Make a game where you individually have impact due to your build depth, gameplay and strategy
>Make a sequel that has none of those
That and the fact that this game has level scaling. I don't understand why Arenanet thought it was a good idea to have that. "The chosen one has killed the big bad evil time travelling dragon... but if he chooses to go to a level 1 zone he can get killed by 2 deer who gang up on him". That's just mind boggeling why this exists alongside a 1-80 grind to fulfill the story mission requirements, eventhough level doesn't fucking matter at all. Do it like Guild Wars 1, where 1-20 is the tutorial and max level the real game starts.
Remember when everyone thought this game was going to be good?
Guild Wars 1 was good, we've had expectations that the quality would be the same at least.
>want to play Longbow Ranger
>realize I will be using the same five weapon skills the entirety of my playtime
>most utility skills are useless/extremely niche
The only remotely fun class is engineer, and only when you build ridiculous and stupid 4/5 kit builds.
>Tfw GW 2 have top tier Waifu races
>Tfw they're stuck in a shit game
Dude you're being way too harsh on GW2. You can jump in it!
Who is this?????
>mfw there are kids today that will dismiss a game entirely if it doesn't have a dedicated jump
I think I read a review once on steam about Guild Wars and they gave it a negative rating because they quit 20 minutes in because there was no jump.
It's even worse, two of your utility skills will be two signets, one you never press, and one you rarely press
To be fair you wouldn't hit level 20 in Prophecies until like the Crystal Desert
Ironically the only thing that was fun in this game were the jumping puzzles. Most of them were very creatively done.
this game sucks
You can hit level 20 before leaving pre searing Ascalon
Well, if you play legimately through prophecies - which I did on release and it was amazingly fun - then yes, that's true. I think I was around level 18 when I was legimately playing through it for the first time when I hit crystal desert.
1-20 prophecies is more like an introduction to the game and once you hit 20 you get introduced to the real threat of the game. Alternatively you can get rushed to your doppelganger in a hour, which instantly levels you to level 20. There's a shitload more content if you're 20 and some addons even require it. Where as GW2 you have this mandatory 1-80 grind for story and whatever other grinding bullshit they introduced with heart of thorns. It doesn't serve a purpose, where as it did in gw1.
yeah but it would take literal weeks of death leveling or half a years worth of daily quests
The "without grinding" part of that claim was implied
This game has shit pvp.
Pve endgame consists of doing shitty daily fractals and weekly raids.
Class balance is total ass. You just stack dps classes to ignore game mechanics still because anet is a shitty dev.
I don't remember prophecies having daily quests, holy shit my life has been a lie.
They were added in 2011
Past it's prime then, whew.
You now realize they added only 4 new regions in the first expansion which took 3 years to be made after the release of the base game.
GW1's first expansion came 1 year after release and added tons of new regions, then Nightfall came only HALF a year after that and likewise added a shit ton of content.
Arenanet is finished.
dunno the year it was added. you do some shit for the vanguard and you get 1k exp.
On top of only one class and less than a hundred skills, compared to two classes and hundreds of skills in each expansion
Yeah yeah, GW1 sucked too. I remember what I could read on forums and in the chat in Lion's Arch. It was a shit pseudo-MMO for those who couldn't pay for WoW, the gameplay was shit because you could not jump and you were stuck by everything that wasn't a flat surface. Oh and instanced maps were stupid. But I enjoyed it since day one and until the end of 2009.
Well I'll enjoy GW2 too and I'll see it becoming the best game ever while we'll be shitting on GW3.
>Yeah yeah, GW1 sucked too.
(you)
>while we'll be shitting on GW3.
That's optimistic, considering that any game that has went f2p so far has never gotten a sequel. Pretty sure what's left of ArenaNet is running on fumes.
>gameplay was shit because you couldn't jump
bait
I don't have a problem with you disliking GW1, I'm baffled that those are your reasons for disliking it.
He was clearly pranking us, let's calm down.
