Kingdom Hearts is a series that will always be dear to my heart (no pun intended). No matter how batshit insane the story gets, I will always love this series. 14 years ago back in 2002, I was 11 years old and got Kingdom Hearts 1 for Christmas and it changed me. I never had a video game experience like it before. The new trailer for Kingdom Hearts 2.8 made me feel like I was 11 again.

It's so fucking amazing. Simple and Clean Ray of Hope Mix is beyond incredible. I know I'm sounding like a faggot right now but I don't give a fuck this series is magical

>Dat remix

Hot damn

>2:07
>"What about the others?"
Is that Young Eraqus? It sounds exactly like him. I'm so confused right now

That's Luxu. But yes he does sound like Eraqus. Weird

youtube.com/watch?v=NKo4BgDnlfQ

Is it me or does Luxu and the MoM sound alike too?

Why does she have to suffer so much?

I'm hearing more Xigbar/Braig in MoM than Luxu

Mmm, maybe I need to rewatch.

How would you guys react if the book of prophecies is revealed to be bullshit and just something to enforce the destiny that MoM wants?
What if it the future really isnt set in stone but MoM wants everyone to believe so, so he could carry his plan and get to Kingdom Hearts and be God?
>mfw
I'm expecting a ruse like this desu.

>TWEWY is in
Time to get back into this shit show.

She is very cute!

Kingdom Hearts is a series that I regret not getting into at a younger age. Now I see everyone love it meanwhile I cringe every time I watch a trailer or hear "The Darkness" and stuff.

It's cheesy but it's fun.

>One of your best friends become a vegetable
>The other one becomes the big bad of the universe
>Try to save your retarded big bad best friend
>Gets trapped in Hell
>Losing your mind
>Having hallucinations of retarded best friend
>Now your sanity is fucking destroyed
>Literally get into a fight with yourself because you're completely off the deep end
>Give up all hope and just wish to die

I just want Aqua to have a happy ending

>Having hallucinations of retarded best friend

Alright, I chuckled.

>tfw you try to rewind time to save her but you bring about the end of arcadia bay

If you play in release order it is less ridiculous. Darkness is just like a magical force and so is light, when you think of it like that it sounds way less ridiculous.

Aqua and Riku should fuck, they fit perfectly together.

Will this be the first KH game to get a T rating? This shit with Aqua losing her mind and Back Cover is dark as fuck

It's just kiddie disney shit. It's dark if you're 12

I hope not.
I want her for myself.

This trailer and anything 3 related legit give me chills and happiness like no other.

I know how you feel, OP. This series has a special place in my heart

The original KH has a T rating.
Nomura said that KH is actually not specifically aimed at kids, despite featuring Disney.

>The original KH has a T rating.

No it wasn't

>The original KH has a T rating.

No it doesn't. It was E.

>Nomura said

>no one cared about my idea
:(
I thought we were supposed to be friends and stuff like the games teach...
: (

Oh yeah, whoops.

youtu.be/r-zxCz-P_sg

I feel you OP, I really do.

Why is he so perfect?

Don't worry, man. I understood what you were trying to get across. KH wasn't made specifically for kids, it's just inoffensive enough that they can play it without much risk of overly-protective parents freaking out, much like Walt himself envisioned his studios' work.

Why are there so many dickhumpers on this board?

>Nomura said KH isn't aimed at kids

More proof that he is a literal retard.

I thought it was one of those "before E10 existed" things.
Not really. It's his game. He can aim it at whomever he wants.

Tons of kids still love it. It might not be specifically targeted at them but it isn't like kids can't play them.

>Irafags are real

Also it was a brain fart. Maybe I was thinking of Melee for a second.

When I beat Kingdom Hearts 1 I legit cried.
I'm not sure why though, but I was very wistful.

I didn't even pursue the sequels either. Only the spinoff on the PSP with Agua.

>Guy in the bear mask is voiced by Knuckles

He's automatically my favorite character in the series now

sigh
BBS is not a spinoff. It's KH Zero.

Are you surprised?

>It's his game, he can claim to aim it at whomever he wants.

So what Disney stuff do you want to see in KH3?

More 2d less 3d
Jungle Book should finally be in the game and not just in the code

Did this game seriously upgrade? Good Lord I'm shocked a game actually upgraded for once. I'm so tired of games downgrading all the fucking time. What a breath of fresh air

From 1:38 onwards make the remix sound like something out of a rave. Goddamn I want to go to party now. This remix is the shit Sup Forums

:)
Well, was he wrong, based on the results? There are teens/adults who enjoy KH and even Disney.

KH is not exactly a game that pushes high end tech or pyhsics or high poly models, so they can actually go all out. Japs only started with Unreal recently and it looks like they get used to it pretty fast. If they improve the lighting until KH3 than it could look like the Backcover scenes or even better

Agreed OP' ! And similar story

Toy Story. It better be fucking in Nomura

So why the fuck does he have Xehanort's keyblade?

Was it confirmed Backcover is in-engine?

I know how you feel OP. I only got into the series this year with the HD collections but it's by far my favorite game series at the moment. It feels like the last bastion of the magic that Squaresoft games had back in the nineties.

I've probably watched the new 2.8 trailer close to 100 times already and I've had it on loop in the background for the music right now.

It wasn't Xehanort's originally.

I would say it definitely uses the same assets from UE4. But the lighting is way better, i hope they figure it out for actual gameplay too, they still look a little too much like clay right now, all the enviroments look great thoguh even in the KH3 trailer. Dat fucking grass

I wasn't as old, but KH was probably the first game on a console I really took seriously playing, since before that all I had was a computer. It was also my 2nd jrpg ever (first being FFX)

Wait, keyblades/keychains can get passed down? That's new.

shit goes off
and utada herself remixed it too

>That pic
Vanitas becoming the Vegeta of the good guys when?

It's really not. Remember, Aqua inherited Master Keeper/Defender from Eraqus.

Yeah Nomura confirmed the Kingdom Hearts 3 cutscenes will have the same quality as Back Cover. I'm so fucking hyped. This means Kingdom Hearts 3 is going to be gorgeous.

Sorry, my bad. I mean I wasn't as young. I was 16 when I first played KH1 the year it came out.

Yeah you're right I suck benis. So what's Luxu's story in a TL;DR way?

EH OO II TOO EH OO II TOO EH OO II TOO EH OO II TOO EH OO II TOO EH OO II TOO EH OO II TOO

IT WON'T STOP PLAYING IN MT HEAD Sup Forums, MAKE IT STOP! I'VE LISTEN TO IT LIKE 132894389249823 TIMES AND I STILL AM ADDICTED TO IT, SOMEONE PUT A BULLET IN MY HEAD.

Hopefully not. I liked Vanitas as just an asshole played straight.

>nice environments
Yeah, which makes it all the weirder that Aqua and Terra looked as strange as they did at E3. It's not like SE hadn't done high poly models of them before.
Now we need confirmation that the fundamentals like the knockback and the stagger are done right this time.

Seems to be a game 20somethings love. As someone in their 30s, I could never get into these games. Could never finished the first 1. I just lose interest almost immediately. I hear 2 is better. Should I give it a go?

He's pretty mysterious. All we really know is that he's the Master of Master's 6th Apprentice, however he is not a Foreteller as he didn't receive a Book of Prophecies and in his words, he's carrying out the Master of Masters will.

If you didn't get into 1, then 2 is going to lose you even more. Not worth it in your case.

>Utada returned to do the Simple and Clean Remix for 2.8
>This 100% confirms she will do a new song for KH 3

THERE IS A GOD. UTADA IS BACK WITH THE SERIES. YES YES YES

I'm 29 now, but I'm in love with the series because I was only a teenager when it started.

I don't understand a single thing that's happening in that trailer. I have only played KH1 and KH2. What am I missing to understand what's going on here?

Fair point. There's some fun to be had with a redemption arc if done properly, but it'd be cool to see him succeed Xehanort as the next big villain of the series.

I've seen a couple of 30 somethings who say that they love the series.

Go play 1.5 and 2.5.

Literally 5 other games, user

Play the remake versions or emulate the games, you NEED to play them to understand what's going on

The Master of Masters had six apprentices.

Five of them he would give new names, Keyblades, and the Book of Prophecies.

These five become the Foretellers, leaders of the Unions which would eventually clash and spark the Keyblade War.

Luxu, his sixth apprentice, was not made a Foreteller.
Rather, he was given a different mission. All we know about that mission is that the directive is to see the Master's will realized.

What the Master wants is anyone's guess, but apparently he isn't concerned with the longevity of the world.

All of it
Play 1.5, and 2.5
There're probably thousands that have only played 1 and 2 and will play 3 beacuse they think all the other games are not important even though a fucking mobile game is more important than KH2 at this point

There are certain things I get. Most of the Back Cover stuff no, but everything else I more or less understand what they're talking about.

>KH is the only series where a entry on it for phones is now more important to the lore than a game titled "Game Name 2"

how did they do it? How did Nojima pull it off?

If you accept light and darkness as real, semi-tangible aspects of the universe (basically, the primordial ooze of KH) which govern behaviors more so than a strict good/evil dichotomy, then it becomes significantly less after-school special.

I was 20 when KH came out, and I could never get into it. My little sister loves it though, and I'm glad KH3 made her so happy.

She's so overrated but probably banked for the 2 songs she did for KH.

Go play these then come back

I mean, the unceremonious end of the world that everyone in-game knows cannot be avoided is pretty dark, user.

Go play OSTs?

Hell, doesn't Eraqus prove that if you become too obsessed with light, it can consume you just as easily as darkness?

I hope Nomura changes his mind and ends KH with 3. I've had it with this series' bullshit

Pretty much.

It's Disney, it will be kiddie sunshine happy end with everyone hugging and dancing a jig.

>Did this game seriously upgrade?

Nah, it's definitely been downgraded.

I don't think the light itself consumed him. Rather, it seems that in his overzealous devotion to it, he accidentally opened himself to darkness ("My own heart is darkness."), just like the inhabitants of the pre-Keyblade War world did.

It ain't over till people stop spending money on it.

I never want the bullshit to end. Even if it stops being about the characters we know.

Why does her skin have a weird yellow hue to it? O__o

She's preparing for her upcoming gratuitous celebrity appearance on The Simpsons.

She's asian

>it will be kiddie sunshine happy end with everyone hugging and dancing a jig
χ[chi] already ended and that's not what happened.

Everyone died. Because that's what happens in the Keyblade War.

The devastation is so much that the entire world shatters and creates the fragmented universe we play in for the later games.

Holy shit the CGI for 0.2 is GORGEOUS. Like stunningly gorgeous. I'm speechless Sup Forums about how amazing it looks. If one thing Square can do right, they know how to make shit look gorgeous
