The second half of the game is really fucking awesome. It's just one little 10 minute section that's weaker than the rest.

I legitimately liked the gameplay of this more than Metroid Fusion.

Samus was a lot more agile and the jumping was a lot less stiff.

I had NES metroid, metroid 2, and prime on display like that but I ended up keeping them flat and using them as risers for anime statues with HUGE titties.

That new game plus seemed interesting but none of those are huge losses anyway. What we got is a stellar remake and thats more than anyone could expect from a fan project

Zero Mission would probably be my second favorite if it wasn't for how annoying 100% it is and the Mother Brain fight, i mean Samus is just to big and having to squat doesn't help

many people state the backtracking and ammo as a problem. I never found the backtracking to be an issue because I don't mind it in metroid games. The ammo complaints are the ones I don't get, you never run out in regular battles but you have to be strategic in boss fights

If you mean everything after mother brain, yes
The zero suit segment sucks but it does feel good when you finally get your suit back and get to shit on the pirates

I legitimately enjoyed the stealth section. It's challenging the first time you do it, but you still have a fuckton of energy tanks by then so you're not really at risk for dying. It's more a test of your platforming and timing. Plus it feels great to get the gravity suit and wreck all those pirates that were giving you trouble before.
