Anyhow, my impressions on the game:
6-1: one of the worst cases of the game, kept waiting for something from it to become relevant in any way but it never came, also found a huge plot hole (why was the box open when found? the only person who could open it was the hippie, and he had already stolen the orb and didn't want anyone to know it had been stoleN)
6-2: I was pissed off that it ripped off a popular movie (don't wanna spoil it for you guys) and I could see 60% of the case coming, I think that ruined the case a bit for me even if the rest of the case was pretty good. It's just "good" for me.
6-3: Fucking amazing, actually using Maya for something useful for once was a masterstroke
6-4: Started out hating this case but the witnesses grew out on me, Blackquill was fucking amazing and carried it too. A solid 4/5 for me. I'm happy the localizers basically gave up on making it make sense for Americans, the closest thing we have to that humor is "Potion Seller"
6-5: A DRAGON NEVER YIELDS, 10/10, might take over 2-4, but I'll reconsider it for a while because I thought AA5 was great when I finished it
>he was dead all along
>kept waiting for something from it to become relevant in any way but it never came
the fuck are you smoking, my man
>Hey daddy, can I visit Polly in Khura'in? I really miss him.
>Sure Trucy, what could possibly go wrong?
I realized this 10 minutes before the twist was actually revealed, I really didn't want to believe it, fucking hell. It was handled really well.
Also figured out Nayna was someone else, but I also considered Inga to be her, because the hair spray was never addressed and I thought it was weird that he cared so much about his daughter and kept it secret, combined with his back pain that could be explained as him having to lean down as Nayna. I didn't want to believe Amara was such a fucking idiot either, but oh well.
I mean something huge, of course it introduced the setting and the orb. If it was actually an important case then I missed the connection.
Same here just finished it. It is on par with AA5. I think at this point the franchise became a little to predictable. The twists didn't really suprise me like the older games.
But Dhurke and the Defiant Dragons theme was great. A dragon never yields!
Still AA3 remains the best in the series.
Oh man, I was already ready to whine about that revelation never coming, I thought the writers had retconned it, then that one scene finally came.
>mfw his dad tells Apollo that she's a keeper
It was merely connected to the overarching plot, I know that AAI2 set the standard for all cases being interconnected and amazing, but not everything has to work that way
Yeah, AAI2 spoiled me hard, I know it but I was still disappointed.
So, where is the series going from here now that apollo died?
IF HE WAS DEAD ALL ALONG WHO WAS TALKING TO ME IN THE BEGINNING OF THE CASE?
FUCK
Maya
More Athena shenanigans that I'm not interested in the slightest.
spoil your shit faggot
>people really think 3-5 was a better channeling case than 6-5
But the revelation still hasn't come.
Don't enter a thread that clearly states "spoilers ahead", faggot
it said spoilers ahead because of the following tagged spoilers, dumbfuck
I swear, if I hear "a dragon never yields" one more time, just one more fucking time, I swear to god.
Capcom can't possibly get away with that kind of shit twice.
...right?
Not at all, 6-5 was the peak of channeling. The way the crime scene worked was nuts.
I'm sticking to the idea that you shouldn't be entering an ace attorney thread and expect not to get spoiled
Question about 6-5:
How did Inga not realize his hostage vanished for three whole days?
...
we've been doing it fine for multiple threads now, dude
i finished the game so i don't mind, but make a little effort
you'll come to love it, get the fuck out if you haven't finished it
a dragon never yields
Rayfa would suit that better
He did, he was just bluffing since Phoenix didn't know Maya had escaped. That's why when he calls Phoenix and "Dhurke" takes the call he flips his shit, he knows what's going on.
I was hurting man. The beginning of case 5 made me love him so fucking much. It really fucking hurts.
OP here, it said spoilers ahead because of the entire thread, it's common sense to not enter threads, I certainly didn't until I finished it
He knew, but Phoenix didn't. Dhurke said "You can't touch her, and I do mean that literally" and Inga knew exactly what he meant, but changed the subject
I liked 6-5's twist more but I was far more engrossed by 3-5 and its cast.
>ripped off a popular movie
What movie?
>he tanked 3 bullets and scared the fucker just by being intimidating
>I just realized we could have had Gumshoe for at least the filler case
>we only got one fucking reference if you present evidence to edgeworth at one very specific point
The Prestige, same teleportation trick, same answer.
>a dragon
>yielding
>ever
He was bluffing. That scene after the first trial in America when Inga calls Nick and threatens Maya's safetly, Dhurke who is Maya says you can't hurt her because she's not there.
>Now that Apollo is gone, it is only Phoenix and Athena at the office while Trucy is out doing magic shows
I mean, the teleportation wasn't that huge of a deal, not really what the case is based on
and I'm sure the idea of twins pretending to teleport has been around much longer in literature
But Phoenix is like twice her age.
Yeah, I said it wasn't the entire case, but it was still annoying, I was expecting it since I got that piece of evidence with the schedule.
That animated death scene
That whole entire scene with him and Maya
Maya telling Apollo what happened while shes softly crying the entire time
Felt like I got hit by a fucking train
>why was the box open
you dumb dude? If they found the box closed and empty, than they would have known 100% that he stole the orb.
He opened it intentionally so he could say that the kid or the victim stole it.
What's your point?
I guess that makes some kind of sense
Another thing, the founder's name was Ami Fey, right? I thought it was heavily implied but never got an answer.
>I was pissed off that it ripped off a popular movie (don't wanna spoil it for you guys)
which movie?
...
that'd really fuck with the whole channeling her thing because I'm pretty sure then everyone would know her face and name
>Andistan'dhin stole the orb for Inga and didn't even get to sell it and make profit off of it
>he did something that could've potentially come back to bite him in the ass at any time and did because he probably had no choice
In hindsight I feel kinda bad for him. Hopefully he's just playing metal to his fellow inmates and didn't get crucified.
Nah, Ami Fey was just someone who went to Khura'in to learn spirit channeling.
Her face is always cloaked in shadows in every imagery of her, though.
Was this stated? Because then the bloodline thing makes no sense.
>You'll tell them right?
>yeah sure whatever
>Its about time to tell them now right?
>lol I'll just tell them later. What's the worse that could happen?
I thought Ami Fey was implied to have been part of the royal family, and just left Khurain?
I don't think it's stated she went there. If it makes more sense, she might have been born there and then brought the technique elsewhere. In that case the Feys would also be descendants of the Founder, which I guess is possible.
I guess I might just have some misconceptions because why Atishon's Crystal of Ami Fey thing was never explained, there was also a custom box for it in Kurain village, etc etc
I thought the crystal and the orb might be one and the same.
.have a head injury that hurts my scalp whenever I get goosebumps
>mfw the thought route starts
They said the Crystal of Ami Fey was something else that was stolen from Atishon and he took advantage of it by pretending it was the orb. I do agree that it's left slightly ambiguous, but I think they would have said it clearly if Ami Fey was meant to be the founder. It would also be weird for the first queen of Khura'in to eventually just leave the country and settle elsewhere.
>It would also be weird for the first queen of Khura'in to eventually just leave the country and settle elsewhere.
not if she literally left a way for them to give them a call anytime
She's fantasizing about the S&M she can do with him.
Make way for the best girl to come out from this game.
>teleportation trick utilizing twins is a rip off of a movie that was made in the 21st century
Are you retarded?
Sun and Moon?
Get it? Because she looks like a Pokémon trainer.
If you're saying it's a very common twist then you're just making my point. It was very predictable.
>you will never have your gender listed as "apache helicopter" in official court records
HERE CUMS JUSTICE
That smugness.
Yes, and...?
I just realized how stupidly tiny Sahdmadhi's hand is in the cover and ruined it for myself forever
So why didn't Dhurke just tell Phoenix that Maya's safe? He should have had the opportunity to do so, shouldn't he?
What I'm saying is your anger towards the case is unfounded.
I know it is, I said so in the post where I complained about it.
Also I thought Ema was fucking terrible in this game and she was everywhere. I just want Gumshoe back. I'd even take a reformed Phantom.
i will never like 6-5 because they make Phoenix looks like retarded whole time and Edgeworth is nothing more than a paper guy
>tfw you had more fun with DD (while liking both) but know you're going to end up in the minority
They really fucked the pacing by making every trial take a single day. Even the multi-day trials were always for different cases. SoJ's end twist twist was good but came too early in the case. Nothing in the game hit me nearly as hard as the mental image of Athena trying to "fix" her mom
but Apollo will soon
zing
Because Dhurke was still being blackmailed, and it'd be easier for Phoenix to go along with it if he didn't know where Maya was yet.
Edgeworth had his time to shine, his story is over, of course he's not going to have any huge moments.
And the entirety of 6-5 is about how Apollo surpassed Phoenix, of course he's going to look bad.
I heard he's prosecutor in the DLC case
>And the entirety of 6-5 is about how Apollo surpassed Phoenix, of course he's going to look bad.
I never got this impression at any point. Nothing Apollo did here feels as intense as what PHoenix pulled off to take down guys like Von Karma, Gant, and Engarde
von karma's case was great but he was brought down thanks to a bullet still in his body
I don't even remember how gant was taken down, shit
and engarde's non-guilty shit to make him confess was fun
but the two don't beat using the seance on a 20 year old case to see through the eyes of apollo's father, then reveal that the queen isn't actually a spirit medium while surrounded by people holding you at gunpoint
>Nothing Apollo did here feels as intense as what PHoenix pulled off to take down guys like Von Karma, Gant, and Engarde
He literally overthrew a Queen who could change the law at the wave of her hand. Not mention that if lost he is executed. He was literally playing a game that he wasn't supposed to win and won anyway
Not him and I wouldn't say surpassed, but Apollo was definitely two steps ahead of Phoenix in that case. He was making all the important connections whereas Phoenix only chimed in with advice here and there and was clearly slower on the uptake.
Von Karma was a prosecutor who had never lost in 40 years
Gant had forged evidence and blackmailed several people involved in the case, yet Phoenix managed to perfectly turn all of his legal scheming against him to win
What Phoenix did to beat Matt and save Maya went beyond a mere Not-Guilty verdict
What Apollo did to the queen was about on the same level as what Phoenix did to Dahlia Hawthorne in 3-5.
Apollo has matured but he's not on Nick's level. He even admits he still wishes to learn more from Wright during the ending.
Athena and Ema are both fantasizing about the S&M Phoenix is going to do to them.
she was literally REWRITING LAW DURING THE CASE
there hasn't really been any boss like that yet, Apollo earned his stripes
I'd rather see Nahyuta cum on Ema and Phoenix cum on Rayfa
see
Well, it was Apollo's case to solve. Phoenix sat back as his adviser
>Apollo has matured but he's not on Nick's level
I honestly can't remember when but I remember Phoenix giving up under pressure several times and having to be bailed out with more experience than Apollo, in the last case Apollo does it for himself
I still think Apollo is better than Phoenix even with less experience, he's rebuilding an entire country's justice system while Phoenix's shitty jury was quickly confirmed a terrible idea
Nahyuta would bless them with his cum.
Phoenix was the one who had the most knowledge of Spirit Channeling. He probably could;ve figured it out
Apollo had years of legal background between Dhurke and Gavin. It's not surprising that he's ahead of where Phoenix was at the same age, but I still feel like he hasn't come across anyone as devious as the three I mentioned. The closest would be Gavin who he only beat with the Jurist system
Spirit Channeling isn't the crux of the case, though. Dhurke's inheritance is.
I was talking about how Apollo overthrew the Queen at the end.
So? That didn't require anything but apparently common knowledge
I wanna explode inside Ema's womb.
Just want to say 6-4 is a great case.
Bye.
>while Phoenix's shitty jury was quickly confirmed a terrible idea
that's because Takumi is gone m8. Capcom is making fanfic right now.
Exactly, it's why I don't feel he surpassed Phoenix. I was more impressed when Nick deduced that the priest's death was a suicide.
And you would be correct thanks to one man.
I agree, but people seem to think it's shitty filler, while praising 6-2
Apollo deduced every major twist of 6-5 himself, though, including the big one, which was definitely on 6-3's level.
