Why does OOT have this symbol everywhere? and why do several of the dungeons have middle eastern inspired music?? Please answer Sup Forums? So what were Nintendo thinking when they thought this was a good idea for it?

It's a cool symbol. Actually, why is a crescent moon a muslim thing?
Believe it or not there was a time where the middle east wasn't a degenerate hellhole with sticks up their asses.
Gerudo are desert thieves who worship a different God
Muslims are desert thieves who worship a different God
Gerudo also go to Hyrule to mate with the men and have kids
And muslims, well...
>Area is set in a desert/heat environment
>Has middle eastern themes present
Only muslims would have a problem with this
EH REH
>Believe it or not there was a time where the middle east wasn't a degenerate hellhole with sticks up their asses.
uhh no there wasn't
>Muslims are desert thieves who worship a different God
There's so many things wrong with this sentence.
But obviously the sand niggers in OoT are inspired from sand niggers in real life.
>American education
Simply representing culture in a game is now grounds to become offended.
It was made before Islam became a taboo topic in all media.
As for the old Fire Temple theme, I'm pretty sure one of the devs mentioned they got the chanting samples without knowing they were actually muslim chants, so they changed it in the later version to prevent any dumb controversy.
I know but I'm curious why Nintendo and Japan in general has an interest in importing abrahmic symbols and themes into their media even if most of their population doesn't really know about it. You can look at NGE for instance.
The symbol is everywhere and the Fire, Water, and Spirit dungeons all have middle-eastern inspired music
Religous symbols had been in almost every Zelda game before muslims cried about OoT.
Literally fuck Islam cause now zelda will never have religious symbolism again.
They based the entire Gerudo mythos off of arabs. Originally the Fire Dungeon or whatever the fuck it's called with Volvagia the dragon thing had muslim chanting in it that they ended up removing quickly after release. People who bought the game right when it came out still have the chanting, the blood is still red, etc.
As for why, cause history is cool mate. Spirituality and shit is the inspiration for a lot of art.
Not true.
>I know but I'm curious why Nintendo and Japan in general has an interest in importing abrahmic symbols and themes into their media even if most of their population doesn't really know about it. You can look at NGE for instance.
It's exotic. It's the same reason western media romantizies Vikings, we know that most of the media based on them is incorrect but people like the fantasy
Anno did it in NGE because he thought it looked cool. Nintendo could have done the same thing.
Because it looks cool, that's the reason, not some conspiracy
Also, the 1.1 version was actually already made before the game got released, but the production run of 1.0 was already done.
Pretty sure christians like the cross in games, as long as it's not blasphemous. It 'advertises' thier religion subtly.
>mudslimes cry about OoT with nigger-tier culture-misappropriation
>3 years later 9/11 happens
Spot the retards.
bumpo
>Crescent moon: Shiva bears on his head the crescent moon.[108] The epithet Candraśekhara (Sanskrit: चन्द्रशेखर "Having the moon as his crest" - candra = "moon"; śekhara = "crest, crown")[109][110][111] refers to this feature. The placement of the moon on his head as a standard iconographic feature dates to the period when Rudra rose to prominence and became the major deity Rudra-Shiva.[112] The origin of this linkage may be due to the identification of the moon with Soma, and there is a hymn in the Rig Veda where Soma and Rudra are jointly implored, and in later literature, Soma and Rudra came to be identified with one another, as were Soma and the moon.[113]
Gee, I wonder why the people in Zelda closely associated with the topic of "Spirit" would have a signature based on the deity of the religion, associated with the pun on their name.
It was never about Islam, nor was there any Muslim backlash. You people are the ones who ruin the fun for everyone in the subsequent years after 1998 by making up stuff that never happened. Yes, you're all THAT KID. We can't have any symbolism in media these days because you cry wolf, and blame it all on the Muslims. You think it's a game, but it's not.
So thank you, dumbasses.
(You're Ok. You're just repeating what Sup Forums's told you.)
The star and crescent was used as a symbol for the city of Constantinople before it was conquered and re-appropriated by turkroaches.
I don't think nintendo ever outright confirmed it was changed because of complaints from muslims but the weird part is the date on ROMs for the revised versions with the symbol changed are before the game was even released.
Its possible they anticipated backlash but the first run of cartridges had already been produced.
Also is there seriously a group who pisses and moans about everything that offends them more than muslims? They honestly put feminists to shame in that department.
>Also is there seriously a group who pisses and moans about everything that offends them more than muslims?
Christians
I don't think the Gerudo are based on muslims, I didn't see any beheadings, woman beating or child marriages
>le ebil turks meme
fuck off greekboo
Reminder that Hyrule converts to Christianity in the downfall timeline as they're sick of their goddesses leaving them to suffer.
The Gerudo aren't based on muslims.
They are based on Arabs though.
You know, the fun arabs with the genies and the funny shaped buildings, before 9/11 happened.
1453 never forget.
Here, I found one.
>Before Islam happened
FTFY
>implying that muslims would not have rejoiced at having their religion be featured in the greatest game of all time had it ever been true, even if it was the bad guy's religion.
As someone who remembers the 90's, America and Islam were cool back then. I still remember the first Iranian woman I ever saw because she is the most beautiful woman I can probably remember. She was a guest speaker, having been the mother of a former student of my Elementary teacher. She was awesome. The progressivism of a Muslim woman not wearing her head scarf was probably more noteworthy than the fact she was Muslim to anyone who met her. That's cause in the 90's people didn't focus on the negative like they do now. We were zen. Nowadays we've become so desensitized we don't know when something is awful or we're supposed to like it or hate it.
See
Isn't it only in the desert places?
Besides there's Christian imagery in Zelda as well, I like to think both religions exist in the universe given that, and others.
I meant, see
No, the symbol is used a lot in OOT
I only remember it from the blocks and the shield tbqgfah famalam
Oh and around the Gerudo place.
what about Armenians?
actually pre-orthodox Islam it was pretty damn degenerate
Both the Sassanians and Romans used it everywhere, so naturally when the Muslims gobbled up all of the first and most of the second they adopted it.
>before muslims cried
But Nintendo changed the OoT shit before they would have even gotten the chance to complain.
It's actually a Turkic symbol it represent two gods.
The Ottoman empire was a Turkic empire and they were the ones Europeans had the most interaction with so they just assumed it was an Islamic symbol.
The mosques in the old ottoman empire have the Cresent moon and star but mosques in the Arabian peninsula, Morocco and Iran do not.
The muslim countries that use this symbol on their flag have turkic history as well.
female dominated society parody of sandpeople.
>Female dominated
>Muslims
Something's not right here
Learn what parody means.
first of all, Gerudo go into Hyrule to RAPE the men, not mate with them. totally different. you understand this when you rescue the group of literal faggot carpenters.
second of all, Muslims don't worship a different God, they worship the same G-d that Abramic religions do they just call it a different name. ah law yow we jaysus whatever the fuck, it's all the same shit. they differ in who gets to kill who and currently muzlumz think they're allowed to kill everyone (see: ISIS, Hezbola, sadam huseein's group, etc)
LASTLY, the music in OoT and that symbol are not fucking middle eastern inspired. nothing good has ever come out of the middle east. stay. cucked.
they worship the same god as part of the triforce. gannon is part with zelda and link.
almost like it was the climax of the game or something.
That wrong you retard.
>hurr durr but this fanart from a japanese player's guide!!!!
I bet you watch gametheory
>second of all, Muslims don't worship a different God, they worship the same G-d that Abramic religions
When will this meme die. You can't just change fundamental aspects of a religion's theology and claim that it's the same god. See en.wikipedia.org
