Like EU4/CK2, but you know how the game will play out from minute

No choices to make

Shit by itself, good modding framework, which in turn is an ill omen for the sheer amount of DLC jewing Johan will subject us to.

space combat is dissapointing.
No ground combat.
Trying to take over 1 single empire is like trying to take over everyone in a normal 4x game.
Not the 4x we have been waiting for. Unfortunately.

DEUS?

If Ck2 is a 10, what is Stellaris? I've been wanting to get it

>tfw I just wanted Distant Worlds with a less disgusting interface

Iktfb

I didn't play much of CK2, but I'd say a 6. It's fun for a bit but it lacks anything that makes the space environment really enjoyable or special apart from a bit of exploration early on.

Garbage. It won't ever be good either, unlike their other games.

Hopefully they do a follow up and make it like 400% better.

Elaborate please?

3 or 4. It's unplayable honestly. Feels like an unfinished game almost in my opinion. It seems good at first and quickly it just isn't.

It lacks an interesting backdrop compared other other paradox titles (even if it was just European shit). You just kind of wait around in waiting for world building story events to happen. Conquest isn't even fun it's just the only thing to do.

-map screen is fucking worthless, zooming in and out of the two modes is shitty
-directing your different miners/explorers is a huge pain in the ass and isn't fun as soon as you get like 3 of them
-in general navigating different ships that you need to use to produce, etc is a pain in the ass
-the planet mode is kind of lame with pops

I mean, in theory it could be good. It's just how after you play for like the first hour or two and get the basic system set up, you realize there just really isn't anything to the game, and suddenly the horrible map screen and gameplay just becomes a worthless trudge

I think the follow up could be good if they change things drastically and focus more on personalizing your people.

They need to get rid of ship customization and the shitty RTS aspect. I still want huge fleets and cool laser battles but I don't want to care about how effective each part of the ship is at countering something else.

Also make planets more special so I don't just settle 10 of them and throw them inside shitty sectors. Planets should be important and each one highly valued while space stations are more abundant while less capable.

Touched it one at the release, played for 5 days and then uninstall.
4-5/10

it had a great soundtrack

This. You look at the strengths of paradox titles and why people enjoy them, war was always about mustering resources and our manifesting the enemy or getting a tech advancement. They have all the tools to do that here only with cool future tech- but instead it's just a serries of tedious light show that you have to babysit.

I think you perfectly described my issue with it.

I pirated it, and actually really enjoyed my first game. Then I tried to start a second game and was instantly bored. I tried variant nations and ethos and traits, and every time it feels the same. Sure you may encounter different species in a new game, you might get a new crisis, you may change your ethos which changes a little of how you play, but so much of the game is just soulless and nothing. Maybe you'll use slaves or robots but it changes things in such a minor way, you get the same events game after game and most of them are stupid and pointless, you're going to use the same ship designs game after game and even if you change them up it doesn't change anything in a really interesting way.

When I play a game of CK2, fucking all sorts of shit can happen that completely changes the game from one game to the next. When I play a game of Stellaris, it feels like I'm playing the same game every time, and it always plays out in a really similar way.

I think one day I'll like Stellaris a lot, but that day is not today. I don't think it'll be with 1.3 either. Maybe in a year or something, with some major DLC updates. Also the game fucking needs espionage.

DEUS VULT

>with a less disgusting interface
casual
it's called Endless Space

So now that the dust has settled... whats the verdict on retarded faggots who make "now that the dust has settled" threads?

Still mad about the Hissho being a minor faction in 2.

It's just so bland.
