Decide to replay pokemon fireRed for dat nostalgia

>decide to replay pokemon fireRed for dat nostalgia
>get really really bored after 2 hours from the pointless grinding and having to use repel to keep sanity
>never touch it again

Seriously how is this shit still acceptable? Why is grinding still a thing? Who the fuck thought grinding was a good idea in the first place?
I thought games were supposed to be fun for fucks sake

The problem is that we haven't gotten rid of RNG regarding pokemon encounters. On the GB it was partially excusable because of the limitations of the hardware, but there's no excuse for it anymore and they're just clinging onto it for the sake of nostalgia. And that's kind of why I'll always dislike pokemon.

>i have the attention span of a flea and I want eeeeeeveryone to know it

How much of a shitter are you that you need to grind in Pokémon, of all things?

It's a good time waster for kids.

Really? You're THAT bad at Pokemon of all things?

>grinding
>in fucking pokeyman

literally the only game in the entire series where grinding isn't a monumental waste of time is vanilla rby, and only because of the retarded level curve

and it's still a waste of time there, but at least a five-year-old would be justified in doing it

>Grinding in a pokemon game

You know they're made with children in mind and you can just beat the whole game only ever using your starter, regardless of starter, right?

Holy shit, if you're that bad at Pokemon I don't know how you can play any game.

only using your starter is boring

Don't listen to any of these faggots. The reason grinding is still a thing, especially in JRPGs is because Japs actually seem to enjoy it.

>tfw you can't play pokemon without fast forwarding option

>I was playing firered
>a 12 year old game
>why is grinding still a thing?
Well I dunno, maybe because you're playing a game thats 12 years old?

>play older game
>why is ______ still a thing?
Regardless of your point this sounds dumb

>replay yellow
>all the mons have fucking garbage level up moves
>spend more time trying to put together a half-way competent team with halfway decent moves than playing the game itself
So far my team will be Nidoking pimped out on TMs, Pikachu because all the other electric types are ass, Starmie, Dewgong, Charizard (would be Arcanine but that shit comes way too late), and I don't know, Victreebell or something.
>All of Rhyhorn/Rhydon's level moves are normal

I spend way too much time researching my games and spend too much grinding even though I know it's not needed. I need help.

>grinding
>in a pokemon game

Git gud

I like pokemon.

>all those kadabras
>haunter too
Kek

>using the lake of rage gyarados
>using the shiny metagross given to you via special event

I was talking about the eternity of "unique" pokemons and trainers that you have to beat if you want to advance your game and not have shitty stats for later not leveling up.
Generally most jrpgs do this, countless turn-based battles that give you nothing just waste your time and make the game artificially longer but lamer.
From my experience persona 3 and 4 did turn-based jrpgs right but still had that artificial "longer" game feel.

>using a full team
>not overlevelling two murder machines and making the rest HM slaves

>grinding in Pokemon

So this is the new demographic of players

>grind
>this is boring
no shit, dumbass

>>>>>>>>>two

>>>>>>>>>not two

I did this in Sapphire once. Just kept Swampert and the rest were for show. I beat the game in 5 hours (iirc) and actively had to avoid trainers because I felt TOO disgustingly overleveled.

>don't grind
>still coast the game with 1 pokemon
>every encounter is literally pressing a 2 times
>>>i-its not boring or a grind, you just have the attention span of a flea!
jrpg fans have been cucks since wizardry/ultima and they fucking love it

Rhydon and normal moves are great in gen 1. I bet your Pikachu has thunderbolt and thunder

>pointless grinding
pokemon is so fucking easy, you never need to grind
