Why do people hate this? It really wasn't that bad.
Why do people hate this? It really wasn't that bad
I liked the campaign.
Its a shame the multiplayer is terrible.
The first game was better in most ways.
Blizzard put forth just enough effort to get money out of people, they weren't trying to make a great game.
Could write a lot about it, but it isn't worth the effort. Killing off a good franchise in exchange for three easy payments of $60. 'It wasn't that bad' doesn't excuse the fact that there were (are) a lot of easy ways that the game could have been better, THAT FANS HAVE BEEN SHOUTING AT BLIZZARD SINCE BEFORE THE IT CAME OUT.
They dominated the RTS genre in broodwar and didn't shake shit up to future proof it. They should have been looking for the new thing at the time which was mobas and instead created slightly more dumbed down races in favor of adding even more races. Standard games would have prob been 2v2's or something would have been amazing. Also they could have just been fine if they had just introduced the browser list for the arcade at launch instead of only recently doing it properly. Why work on sc2 maps when dota2 has a larger audience.
Like everything Blizzard has done since 2006 they failed to recreate the perfection they already achieved.
No Starcraft will be as good as Broodwar.
No Diablo will be as good as LoD.
No WoW will be as good as Vanilla.
Blizzard is destined to make low effort meme games with micro transactions.
it's an RTS
nobody gives a fuck about those
RTS games are too "optimized" for me to get into seriously, especially StarCraft. I fucking love the genre, but it seems a lot more fun when you suck and everyone you're playing sucks.
Here we see a prime example of a nostalgia fag
Blizzard fucked up really badly at making their game solid at release since they didn't know whether to make it fun for casuals to fuck around in or a competitive esport game, and a community wasn't able to grow around it early on. Also the core gameplay just doesn't feel very good, blobs look ugly as fuck.
I really liked WoL, but 3 years for a crappy expansion is too long, their jewery fucked it up
I'd agree if it weren't for brood war still being huge in s.korea (the only place Starcraft actually matters) and a vanilla server getting so much attention that Blizzard had to meet with the devs as damage control after they had it shut down.
Who the fuck hate it? It's has best campaign in RTS lately and most played(by Koreans) competitive RTS.
>Competitive RTS
...
Wasn't bad, just wasn't as good as BW
On topic. Is Nova DLC is fully out?
I don't hate it, I love it.
The MP is still a thrill and the only RTS with an highly active ladder.
SP is fun.
2 out of 3 maps are out. So no
>Metzen's wild Hollywood space opera in space
>no Kerrigan, you are the prime Mary Sue saviour
Why didn't Kerrigan get what she deserved?
that's because just playing and enjoying RTS games only requires basic understanding of the mechanics and allows you to approach each level however you want. Want to spam weak units and overwhelm? Go right ahead. Want to turtle until you get end-game tech? Sure why not. Getting a small group of people into the same mindset is the best way to enjoy an RTS
Being "competitive" though is less about strategy and more about clicking the fastest. That's why you see top-tier players rage-quit if they fall a second behind on their build queue. It sucks all the actual fun out
Campaign is fine but the story goes full retard
Multiplayer is pretty much just gathering up death balls which is terribly boring
>wasn't that bad
If you can't say it was good that's a pretty bad start
