I've been using the Microsoft Sidewinder X6 for eons. It's still the best keyboard I've ever used
Corsar Strafe Silent. Had a 200 dollar gift card that didnt know what to spend on because fuck best buy.
Fell for the mechanical keyboard meme.
Felt no difference from an apple keyboard (wired) and the lights get boring after a week. It's just a dumb gimmick.
Get a cheap kmokoff instead. Or better yet, don't fall for this shit.
I can buy the exact same keyboard without the pretty faggot-ish lights for half the price
Do you want mechanical keys or no?
>Strafe Silent
you bought one of the worst mechanical KBs out there without even informing yourself beforehand
yeah I'd suggest you people to stick with the 5$ bargain keyboards
Corsair k70 Cherry MX Blues
I like the colicky and the tactile feel of blues. Mines not RGB tho. It's just red.
Ducky Shine 3 TKL with MX Browns
They had them on display and tried them all. Honestly they are all the same shit.
Not a fan of the clicky sound either.
I need a cheap keyboard that allows multiple keys to be pressed at the same time
for example, I play street fighter with keyboard and currently the input for back throw is just straight up impossible due to the way my keyboard handles inputs
I can get around it with a dedicated throw buttion, but I'd much rather press both punches and a direction.
So what is the best cheap keyboard that would allow for this?
Lights arent purely aesthetic but if you like them just go ahead. Your shekel, your life.
About the keys tho, I will always recommend true Mechanical. Anything except topre
You shouldnt
Corsair K95 - Same as your pic related but with macro keys. I bought it because I wanted a mechanical keyboard and have too much money.
Define cheap.
Almost any modern gayman keyboard has at least 6KRO. Pay attention to specs.
>Why shouldn't I buy one with fancy RGB lights
Because there's nothing admirable about wasting money, user.
I'd like it to be ~$100
ducky is the shit

Do you want mechanical? There's plenty models under 100. Just be sure it has n-key rollover. If it's "gaming" mechanical keyboard, that's almost always granted.
I have a Corsair Vengeance K70, at the time it was like an extra £70 for the RGB version which I wasn't interested in anyway but it's my first mechanical keyboard and I like it a lot.
Buy this
That's outdated as fuck
K70 LUX with BROWNS and this keyboard is for people with DOWNS
mechanical is such an overrated meme that's why you should not
oh sweet an lgbt keyboard
You need two keyboards. Like Unicomp (Ultra) Classic for most activities. And Cherry MX Board 6.0/Logitech w Omron/Steelseries Apex 800 for games.
CM Storm with MX Browns. If you like how mechanical switches feel, then buy one.
you can get $15 keyboards with enough rollover to play fighting games
or just buy a ps/2 keyboard
only correct choice, there's an older model with larger keys, the negative incline really helped with my cts
I use two at the moment, but I own five mechanical keyboards. The one's that I currently use are a KBParadise v80 with Matias clicky switches, and a tenkeyless Realforce with uniform 55g topre switches that I use at work. Both are phenomenal for typing on, but neither are ideal for gaming. Clicky switches for games are fine but not ideal, while linear switches just feel like shit to me.
I also own a Coolermaster with cherry brown switches that feel genuinely terrible and turned me off cherry switches. I have a Matias quiet pro, and the switches would be great for gaming, but the thing shipped with key chatter. My last keyboard is a Focus 2001 with blue alps that needs to be cleaned out before it is usable.
Some Kensington Washable keyboard.
I've drowned far too many to have any other.
The one in your pic and because it doesn't go well with the rest of your room.
no joke every full size keyboard with 6+key rollover is sold out or marked up 30% used.
like? I want at least 6, but would prefer none
>I own five mechanical keyboards
Great hobby, retard.
Who Filco here? I love my Majestouch 2.
I have several. I just make enough money to support all of them.
Why not just get a keypad?
That doesn't have anywhere near enough buttons, if I wanted to use a stick I'd just use a stick. I'm trying to emulate the hitbox style
So how loud are the clicky switches anyway? I'm using Cherry MX browns because I wanted the inbetween option.
I much prefer the layout of that rosewill to either of the others, but apparently it's only 6key when USB while the others both advertise none.
I was also considering this, any specific objections?
monoprice.com
I might end up going with your second link though
Didn't you test some keyboards in person or get a little tester kit? I'm fine with my MX Browns and decided against isntalling O-rings to dampen them but I probably couldn't stand a full keyboard full of Blues.
A mechanical keyboard just feels really nice. And if you use a computer all the time it's not exactly something that costs much. Just get one you like when it's on sale.
I've been using this Dell SK-8115 since I purchased a Dell prebuilt XPS 410 back in 2004 or 2005, this thing is STILL going strong without a single problem. Since then, I've learned how to assemble a computer and have made my own custom machine, I've been through the original Dell mouse and a Logitech G500 and this keyboard is still working perfectly fine. Cleaning is simple, popping the buttons back on is easy, and even the cord is still in perfect condition with no fraying. Plus, since I know how to touch type, I don't need lights on a keyboard and can type at night with the lights off if I choose to.
Pic related.
Aside from non-detachable cable, seems alright.
I own a Razer Blackwidow X Chroma and it feels very good to type on.
A Logitech G710+.
It's a brown switch mechanical.
Really pleasant to type on and haven't had a single issue with it.
detachable cable makes absolutely no difference to me, I never intend to move my keyboard or unplug it.
Only $50 but they get you for another $10 in shipping. Still cheaper than the rest though, and since I only have $65 in my checking account until I get paid again I think I'll go ahead and pick that one up then
Not to shit on you mate, but don't most people know how to touch type?
As an owner of a keypad (G13), I wouldn't recommend it. You're just replicating the keys on the left side of your keyboard, and attaching a joystick to it.
I guess it makes sense if you have a laptop and want to use its joystick as an alternative to a mouse, or have a game where having a third axis of rotation is useful, similar to the hat switch on a joystick, but for most games it's not a useful device.
The amount of people who claim that backlit keyboards are worth getting says otherwise.
Baby boomers usually can't
hell, my roommate still hunt and pecks and he's 21
This.
If you spent more than ten currencies to your keyboard, please castrate yourself.
>people who spend money for better equipment for their job or hobby are somehow in the wrong.
hold both shift keys and type "the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog"
HE QUIC BROWN OX UMPE OVER HE Z OG is what you'll get on a shit keyboard
nice keyboard, have mine.
looking to replace it with a fancier newer keyboard that is less uncomfortable to type on, the keys on this are really squidgy and give a lot of resistance.
that said, all these mechanical keyboards are super loud and i hate that. i just want a quiet, simple, easy keyboard that isn't garbage.
please suggest keybros
I ordered mine online, I didn't really get to try any of them out in advance.
I did try what I assume was a mechanical keyboard in a store once and it was loud as shit, hence why i went with the browns.
If you're going to spend $80 just buy parts for a cheap hitbox and move to a nicer case/ get a nicer pcb later
You can pick up a big ass model M for like sixty bucks shipped off ebay.
I already went with
monoprice.com
It's fine though, because I use my keyboard 10x more than I play street fighter with it, so I think it's a better purchase than a cheap hitbox
>2 key rollover
Model M is a great typing keyboard but it's usefulness ends there.
If you want a decent gaming keyboard get a dell AT101W and remove all the leaves from the switches.
I just ordered the Mpow I-500 Mechanical keyboard from Amazon for $27. Blue switches. I know it's not going to be the best out there, but for $27 I'm willing to try out my first mechanical. It seems to have solid reviews from the few I've found online.
Anyone have experience with this keyboard?
Monoprice makes some damn good keyboards. I use
monoprice.com
and it's by far the best keyboard I've ever used. I will never use another ever.
I got the K95 RGB, and it's so Sexy, it's definitely worth as my build was an rgb build.
Funny I've got a K70 with mx cherry red keys that's blue
There are some pseudo religious attitudes when it comes to mechanical keyboards. Most are just not suited for gaming.
Bought this Chinese one for shit and giggles during a sale for 27€. It's just as good as the mx blue cherry switches if not better. Also, great build quality.
amazon.de
All this talk about the great longevity seems to be not the case with modern switches, comparisons to the IBM model M are also wrong since they used a buckling spring and were actually waterproof which modern switches aren't; hell they can even stop working by to much dirt/dust underneath the switches which will sooner or later be the case. Why isn't anyone talking about this? I clean my second gen G15 by punching it on the back over a bathtub so that all the dirt falls out and on the front clean it with a water sprayer/towel combo. A modern mechanical switch would NEVER survive that. WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THAT? There is a great article which explains in detail that mechanical switches, no matter which, are far from ideal for gaming. I only found out about all this after doing extensive research.
This whole "mechanical keyboard experience" left a very bitter taste in my mouth not only because of all the reliability issues, but the difference in all cases was so utter vague, subtile & minimalistic compared to a good membrane keyboard or Chinese knockoff, definitely not worth the asking price to me. The only switch that felt really different was the blue one but it's a no go for the reasons I stated earlier. I was not expecting to be so dissapointed after all the buzz about them. I'm also baffled & bewildered about all the people saying it's a night & day difference; you will never go back to a rubberdome etc. which has to be the biggest hyperbole or perhaps I'm missing something. Probably just mouthbreathing geeks defending & justifying their +130$ purchase.
I have about 20 of pic related
i cleared out a computer lab of them awhile ago and i just replace one with another when it finally dies out
they're shit but god damn i don't have to worry about buying more keyboards for awhile
Is this a copy pasta?
Corsair K95 RGB. RGB's not really that worthwhile a feature. It's moderately nice to have.
I grew up learning how to type on an actual typewriter, so I prefer some actuation. I don't type very fast, around 80wpm or so.
Go with how it feels when you type. I like mech but plenty of people don't like that.
This whole mechanical keyboard hype thing also started shortly before Cherry's mechanical switch patent expired.
Of course corporations tried their best to rob the kids with that mechanical gaming keyboard nonsense.
Also, there is no difference between Cherry switches and some random Chinese ones.
Would it kill you fuckers to invest in a nice desk? This is the most overlooked aspect of using a pc you "gaymurs".
here.
Would it kill? No.
Would I care for it? Not atm. If I do scale to a open office, I would have to do so.
>planning to upgrade PC
>one of the upgrades is a new keyboard, preferably mechanical
>eyeing corsair's k70 lux rgb
>mfw its the most expensive part of the upgrade
And I'm planning on upgrading the mobo, case, and cooler but for some odd reason, its the keyboard thats the most expensive one
Try and buy a used mechanical keyboard instead of new. You should feel the thing instead of going by hearsay.
That's the same keyboard I have, been using it for +10 years now so I've gotten used to the "sqidgyness" and don't notice the resistance. Too cheap and lazy to replace it with a mechanical but maybe one day I'll buy into the memes and get a Corsair mechanical because muh volume knob
If you want a mechanical keyboard that isn't loud get one with cherry switches. I hate linear switches but that's the trade off if you don't like the sound of clacking.
buy the non-RGB one
seriously you will not even look at the pretty colors after a few days of using it
Have had this for ages, and still works great to this date.
Types and plays like a dream.
My taste is crap by Sup Forums standards.
Prefer brown, finds red to be ok, blue to be pig disgusting.
I'm the opposite when it comes to red and blue switches. Never tried the browns though
I use an older model of this exact keyboard, but my mouse is still way too small for my hand, so I use one of those wrist rest mousepads..
Logitech illluminated keyboard.
Soft, nigh on silent keys and no gaymer gimmicks, It just works, highly recommended.
I tried that keyboard. Don't hate it, but it's not mech so I didn't opt for it.
I got the G13 and not the Nostromo. It's a bit underutilized. I am in agreement with . My use of G13 greatly decreased once I got one of those "phone" MMO mouse with 12 buttons on the left side.
i have long fingers like those of a spider so i will take the cherry red switch thank u
i also do not like attacking my peripherals and generally play games very relaxed so the keyboard needs buttons that are not trying to fight back
Sidewinder X4. Used it for years now and it still works without a hitch. As long as it keeps on doing what it's supposed to I see absolutely no reason to buy a mechanical keyboard.
I prefer browns for gaming and blues for typing. Linear switches are meh. With my weak babby fingers, anything heavier is no go.
This one.
I couldn't find anything else that had a low-profile keys, wrist-rest, backlighting, wire and wasn't a piece of shit.
I previously had one cheap keyboard with such specs but found out they keys were shitty and blocked themselves so I decided to shell out some money to nor deal with any crap.
>more win
Jesus christ...
It's a magnet for "gamers".
I use the Black Widow Chroma, and you shouldnt buy it because youre paying an extra 200 for pretty lights and you know you wont take care of it
This looks like trash. And it's probably fucking expensive too.
mine died on me recently while experimenting with other keyboards :(
I find LEDs distracting as fuck. I have them set to off on my mouse, keyboard and computer case. Wouldn't have it any other way, they're annoying.

THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS OVER THE LAZY DOG
>Spend good money on a keyboard
>Doesn't get a topre
Why would you do this?
I ordered this a while back
mechanicalkeyboards.com
If you're paying $100+ for a mech keyboard you should really get one with PBT keycaps
I wanted a 68 key for playing games so I bought those Magicforce 68 off Amazon for $40. Pretty good. Only gripe is I wish they at least had pg up/down keys without the use of a function key. Whatever though.
>why shouldn't I buy an overly expensive one with pretty RGB lights?
Gee user. I bet you can show it off to all your friends.
This is my current keyboard it's pretty awesome, got tired of LED gamer gear after a while, it's pretty minimalist but it gets the job done and that's all you really need from a keyboard OP
