>the only single FF game that managed to break 10mil threshold is FF7 >in one of the interviews Tabata fucked up and revealed Square's goal of 10mil sales for FF15 to make it worth >Square quickly tries to damage control afterwards >too late >NO PC release for FF15 >Uncharted 4 barely sold 5mil >Last of Us sold 6mil on PS3 and only with re-release FEW YEARS after on PS4 managed to get 9+
Maybe they'll look into cutting down their release cycler and/or not completely throwing out multiple builds of the game.
Or maybe not trying to make the game play itself would give a bigger draw than targeting people who just want an interactive movie.

Believe in Square-san, XV-kun, and Anti XV-kun.
Xavier Peterson
Wow XII sold good. I thought everyone hated it.
Austin Johnson
>I thought everyone hated it. Only you and the stupid """""""""""le videogames reviewers"""""""" you've read, like your favorite Shittaku.
FF12 was a bomb
Carter Wood
They've been like this since the merger. They always post insane expectations that are never met
Do they genuinely need that many sales to make a profit? I mean, I don't know how much they've pissed away on XV over the years, but are the production values on their average title really that insane?
Wyatt Perry
>I don't know how much they've pissed away on XV over the years, >10 years in development >all the PR shot >events >anime >whole CGI movie
have you tried to use your brain, user
Xavier Lopez
Sales says otherwise.
Levi Torres
...have you? That's why explicitly singled out XV as maybe needing that many sales. But what about things like Tomb Raider where they posted similar expectations?
Ryan Hughes
WoW's latest Legion expansion had a development budget of 15 million. They're saying the next FFXIV expansion will have a 35 million budget. Now this is clearly a lie, and they've cooked the books to avoid investor panic when XV fails miserably; the differential is 20 million dollars between the two, and SE has criminally underfunded XIV's development since the reboot so there's at least 25 million bucks to recoup. If you look at the miserable list of tie-in boondoggles mentioned the whole thing is clearly one giant money pit.
Gavin Barnes
>Sales says otherwise. No they don't? If you think you can just drop a line "sales says otherwise" with your smug face it will have some meaning or weight behind it?
It will not. This is the only (You) you will get until you make a post with arguments.
Lucas Clark
>Vgchartz Holyshit they still around? Lel! They suck, fàm, also, that's not counting digital or PSN sales.
Christopher Edwards
>But what about things like Tomb Raider where they posted similar expectations? ??? Source?
>the publisher hoped to sell between 5 and 6 million copies of Tomb Raider in its first month, which would have placed it amongst some of the fastest-selling games ever.
Oliver Parker
Uh, did PAL regions just not get some titles? XII has nothing sold there.
Ethan Mitchell
>IGN If your goal was to make me take you seriously you are not just failed spectacularly but achieved exactly the opposite result.
That being said, I'd like to remind you that you have to be 18 years old to post here
Nathaniel Torres
It doesn't even include the Zodiac edition. All together, FF8,7 and 10 have broken the 10 mil mark via downloads/reissues. Not bad for a trio of games that started on a single console and PC.
Connor Foster
The difference is that this is the word of publisher itself. It is an official public statement they made.
Compare it to the game director fucking up saying what never was supposed to be public - internal sales expectations.
Oliver Cooper
Keep in mind, the numbers they want don't necessarily mean the numbers they NEED to make a profit. Even though TR didn't hit sales numbers they wanted, it generated enough to warrant a god damn sequel.
Justin Gray
>instead of these fauly numbers that haven't been updated in years why don't you.. Burden of proof is on Op, not me. Why not start with official SE sales reports?
>During its May fiscal report, Square Enix revealed that it had sold 4 million copies of Tomb Raider. That made it one of the best-selling games in the franchise’s history, and it was outpacing all of its predecessors. Yet the Japanese publisher was still disappointed in its performance.
William Bennett
>Burden of proof is on Op
>claim vgdbchartz is a bad source >asked to provide a better one to back up his statem, ent >LOL KEK IT IS THE OP WHO SHOULD PROVIDE FACTS FOR MY SHITPOST I CALL ARGUMENT XD
Here is your (You). Bye.
Grayson Foster
>I literally have no argument >here's some rules lolbye Muh sides autismo!
Charles Martinez
>He doesn't know how burden of proof works Sure you're not the one under 18, OP?
Isaiah Adams
Vgdbchartz?
Lucas Nelson
>Crisis Core sold more than tactics Why did you let this happen?
Adam Cruz
I told you - no more You's until you back up your statement.
Nolan Bennett
Meanwhile watcg dogs easily sold like 10m, the division even more
