Mario 64 voices were fine. Mario Kart 64 voices were a bit over the line, but tolerable. Everything since then has been a never ending spam of voice lines, especially Mario Kart. Why?

Not really, Martinet did full sentences for the edutainment games and does it at conventions, and given his activities on various social media, pretty much everywhere else and it's fine.
