Fucking "Woman" by Wolfmother on Hard mode, and having to actually move your hand up and down the fretboard. That was such a jump.
It was. Good memories of playing world tour at parties or those after-school club things. I killed it on the drums but I'm completely inept at doing anything or holding any rythym on real drums
>inb4 just play a real guitar lmao
rushing or dragging?
I played the fuck out of 3. I had beaten everything but the last set on expert.
>pirate rocksmith 2014 to actually learn guitar
>play it for hours
>realize my eyes are fucked and everything appears to be moving up
that was when I felt nostalgia over a disorienting optical illusion that I had forgotten about until then
>your friends think you're good just because the fifth note doesn't give you any more trouble than the other four
It's fun to hang out with people who have low standards
I... I don't know
it was fun. Buddy and I did Rock Bands endless setlist w/ 30+ dlc. Was half a day worth of playing and neither of us have touched a rhythm game since. This was 7 years ago or something, so I think I could probably go back.
I know nothing about playing guitar but apparently some of the solos are easier to play on a real one, like the solo from "One".
i miss those days.
one on expert
cult of personality on expert
going against my brother and friends to see who is better
good times
START COUNTING

IN 4, DAMMIT, LOOK AT ME
>buy rock band 4
>£8 preowned
>hear about the rivals update
>sweet
>£25
harmonix can fuck themselves
>wow user you're good. I bet you could learn to to play a real guitar easy!
it is the case. My brother got a me a guitar and i immediately started to get into playing a few of the tracks from GH/RB. Things like Reptilia's solo is a lot easier (at least for me) on a real guitar.

the transition from playing plastic to real wasn't that difficult for me, but while I'm able to clear that pos dragonforce song on expert, I can't even begin to touch something that quick on real guitar. An odd trade-off is that two-hand tapping is natural as fuck for me despite it being something you can't even begin to practice on the controller
>The guitar broke and you had to do it with the controller
My R1 literally exploded out of my controller whenever I tried Holyday in Cambodia.
how the hell is that even possible
it's a challenge with alt strumming, how can you do it by tapping a button?
You gotta mash like real fucking fast and hope to not miss too many notes until you get the star power. I never was able do it with the Green ones though.
I almost beat the whole campaign on hard with a controller for the achievement
I could only beat Cliffs of Dover in the last set
Knights of Cydonia is way way worse on a controller than HiC
The Rivals expansion is actually pretty good t b h
But really only for hardcore players like me and the 9 other people in my crew. I'd recommend it if you are one, especially since they're locking the online multiplayer behind it (which I won't defend)
>play guitar hero
>this is fucking sweet
>actually learn guitar
>still playing 10 years later
guitar hero 2 changed my life
It inspired a lot of people to learn guitar, which is awesome. It certainly got me off all the shitty pop I was listening to, and into rock.
Who here plays Guitar Hero 3 custom on PC?
I was like 8 when the first GH came out and before then I wasn't really listening to any music (except for Green Day I guess) so that really cemented my taste for only liking dadrock and some newer rock
I want to get into it but apparently my toaster that can run Borderlands 1 at lowish settings can't handle running this game at 60fps and I don't have a guitar controller that can be used on PC
I miss drinking games with friends.
Every time you passed a song, you had to take a shot.
Stupid game, but I miss spending time with friends doing stupid hood rat shit back then.
You gotta get guitar hero control panel. Disable everything (such as all the graphics so it's just the fretboard and a black background) and force vsync off and it works on pretty much anything at 1000fps.
Also I use my PS2 guitar hero 2 controller with an adapter with xpadder. Works a charm.
who /ukogmonkey/ here lads
Alright I didn't know the control panel I'll have to look into it.
The only issue is that I never owned a plastic instrument game, I had only played them at my cousin's house. The first one I bought was Rock Band 4 and I don't think there's a wireless adapter for a PS4 guitar controller
probably the one thing I honestly thank guitar hero for. I started seeing soooo many more people with a newfound passion for learning instruments and getting into rock
He's the only guy I sub on Twitch with prime
>implying anything will be a better party game than guitar hero
You're not wrong. I still crank it out with buddies when we're bored
Lol what hood rat shit does someone on Sup Forums do?
Not trying to be harsh here but bare people on here are sheltered af and usually middle class
Taking shots cause you passed a song is not hood rat man
Then again the worst shit me and my mates done was get pissed and stoned up at a park on the cheapest booze you could buy, paint thinner type shit
Fuck yeah it was. I still boot up Rock Band though, some of the new dlc is pretty fun. Since RBN tracks didnt export over alongside a few regular dlc songs (fucking where's my Metallica and Ozzy tracks you fucks), I've got around 800 songs in my library.
>Avenged Sevenfold shirt
disgusting
I wish Dolphin had mic support. There's too many good vocal tracks on the RB/GH games.
Ukog?
No I'm just some fag
I'm not that good
I still remember every other person going "WHY DONTCHA PLAY REEEEEEAL GUITAR"
Jonas?
Literally who
bite your fucking tongue
We did shit like this too. We would also have "real" guitar battles where we would shove each other out of the way or jam the guitar into each other and see who could win while you were getting fucked with.
God this pissed me off, it's really such an easy answer. Because it would take years for me to get good enough to play any one of those songs proficiently, let alone what it would take to get a full ensemble to play the styles of 50 different bands well enough to where you would actually want to listen to it.
I was never amazing at GH but it's fun. I kinda wonder if I can still play it decently. It's been a good while since I last tried.
I still pick it up maybe once a year and I'll tell you what happens to me every single time. Yes, you are as good as you used to be, but when you first start up your hands will cramp up halfway through a song you're used to shredding. If you play it through a whole weekend you'll go right back to where you used to be.
>Picked up rock band 4, and got dlc codes for some previous games
>got all the DLC I really liked
so great
I wish GH:Live didn't rape my perception of the traditional layout.
Are you the kind of person who won't drive an automatic because they're afraid they'll forget how to drive a manual?
Which game had the best setlist and why was it Rock Band 2?
>not GH2
Rock Band 2 was too damn easy. also
>PDA instead of Stella
yeah no
It's not the same at all.
I can 5 star expert songs but never ever gold.
Live makes me worse at regular.
>mfw it was on the 2nd tier on the 360 section despite being harder than every song until the 6th
Fucking why?
Yeah, only played with a controller though, fucking hated those goofy looking plastic guitars
I used to until my guitar broke, i wouldn't be assed buying another one or using my keyboard. I used to use a normal controller for 1-3 but a keyboard would just feel weird.
