So I picked up Harvest Moon AWL cause I wanted some farm fun and shit from before Harvest Moon turned to ass but have come to a crossroads
Who the fuck should I marry? This game seems to have a lot in it so is there any upside to a specific one over the others?

They're all pretty good in that game. Nami if you like a challenge, she's harder than the other 3. Muffy is easy as fuck but still cute and lovable. Celia is the hardest worker and is nice as well, plus her son ends up the least emo.
Dunno much about Lumina, didn't play much SE, but she's nice too AFAIK
I went Nami all the time as a kid but I started going towards Celia more as I aged

Went Muffy first till my data was erased so was curious on other so got all three between 2 memory cards get Ruby Spice made romancing Nami hell of a lot easier.

AWL seemed a bit dead after playing Mineral Town and BTN. Still a great game that did a lot with the farming side.
Always picked Muffy but AWL is a pretty bad Harvest Moon.

Back to Nature is probably my favoutite but Story of Seasons on 3DS is also very good.

You should try Another Wonderful Life if you enjoy Wonderful Life. Another improves a lot from the original.
I'm actually with you on not liking AWL much, but it's still definitely on the positive half of Harvest Moon games. Have you seen some of the trash they've turned into Harvest Moon in the last several years, especially on the DS?
The new SoS game is also pretty good. Xseed needs to hurry up already.

And no, I don't know what many of them past that are like. Only played a couple for short periods.
