I see skies of blue and clouds of white

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful game

i wonder what kind of loser play the SE

you have no mods. are you implying that this game is playable without mods?

Yeah sure is hard playing a game without naked lolis running around everywhere

honestly my standard edition looks better than this new one in every way cause I got over 100 mods installed. old mods aren't even compatible on special edition. nexus only has like 11 mods total for it so far.

like most bethesda games, you have to take the release date and add a few months to it to get the effective release date. stick to modded regular skyrim until new years.

true a game this bland need some lolis in it

I got over 300 hours when it came out on ps3

Not even the legendary edition, just plain standard

i'm turning my head
up and down
i'm turning turning turning turning around
and all that i can see
Is just a _________________

Same

Oh, well this is convenient, I just finished making a quick comparison image of riverwood, between the two versions.

Left is my several-hundred hours file in the normal, right is the one I just started in the special edition. I picked riverwood as its the first thing many people see, and Riverwood was one of the few towns I didn't download any mods for to alter the appearance of.

am i looking at a screenshot from shadow of chernobyl? lmao

i'm not looking at something released in late 2016 right?

>I got over 300 hours

sure too.

then came the mods

>couldn't even take them at the same time of day or with the same weather

Way to go dumb shit

Maybe try again at the same times of day, this is worthless.

lol

SE looks decent with ReShade and Verdant. Nowhere near as beautiful as a good modded version of the original, but it runs really well.

Some gameplay at ultra youtube.com/watch?v=Uzbv521ceaw

Not really worth it considering you lose out on all of the non-graphic oriented mods. Until they redo them for SE.

>time of day meme

end yourselves

could you spoonfeed me a guide that will leave me with a good looking original skyrim?

Holy crap. I'm up to 1126 hours and I thought that was a lot

Holy fuck is the game really that good with mods? Like what do you even do?
Played it like mad on ps3 when it came out. All in all the game died way too quickly for me. I've since then gotten into pc but decided not to bother with it.
I know you're biased towards the game automatically but just let me know what exactly do you do with skyrim mods? Surely it can't just be for cosmetic stuff right?

Also mods for the regular game can make it look better than SE, and leave you open to years of mods that the community has already made and polished.

Modlist please.

>8 fps with 1080 SLI

I personally like an oversatured aesthetic so I used the guide on RealVision ENB's description page on the nexus. tesgeneral.com/ is also a great resource.

Is that supposed to look like the led zep album Houses of the Holy?

I got you beat familia.

It's not something to be proud of.

theres a dude with 14 000 hours. highest ive seen. ive seen 2-3 with 8k hours

>Holy fuck is the game really that good with mods? Like what do you even do?

there's like 60k mods online. you do pretty much whatever you wanna do

if you just want more quest and more contents theres at least a dozen of DLC sized questlines. if you just want goofy spells and fuck around theres plenty of that too. There's zombie apocalypse stuff, virus, or you can make your game so hardcore survival game. there's rape dungeons and shit like that too if you go dig a little deeper in the depth of the internet

me I dont give a shit about quests depth or character depth. I like a super challenging and unforgiving game with sexy girls and good graphics so it's what i have

fug

photoshop.exe

would you recommend survival mods like frostfall +whatever the other ones are that require you to eat and camp and stuff?

This seems like a good place to ask. Is it worth even waiting for mods for the SE, or should I just mod the fuck out of standard? I tried to get just LOOT working with it but couldn't figure it out.

Not him, but I have them, and I can't imagine playing the game without them.
Frostfall
Hunterborn
Realistic Needs and Diseases

Those are musts for me

Are there mods that fix the weird bethesda faces?

Bijin Warmaidens and Bijin Wives pretty up the faces of a bunch of the women in the game, but not all of them.

yep its a must. id boost the exposure level from the default 1 to 1.2 if you really want cold to be an obstacle

food mod is also a must for me. I reduce the food/drink requierements in the option a little though because otherwise it gets annoying mid/late game

SE is likely what will be built upon. right now modded original skyrim is the better choice until the script extender stuff is worked out for the special edition. i'd recommend sticking to regular and modding it - you have a few months yet before SE becomes an attractive option i;d say

Hmm, you think a 12 yr old would be interested in skyrim with some good overhaul mods? Only games I've really modded were nba 2k14, gta V and literally only one overhaul mod in NV.
Usually when I decide to mod a game I just want better visuals and tweaked gameplay changes. I just like having an enhanced experience.

Plan on giving my brother one of my GPUs but I don't want him playing trash games. He legit has a shit taste in games. Would you recommend skyrim if it didn't take a long time to mod?

but it has mods
some basic gameplay mods like frostfall
some basic waifu mods like UNP
some basic graphics enhancement mods
and CK isnt even out yet

Just mod the standard, it's gonna be a long fucking time before it even gets close to where regular Skyrim is now, especially since most veteran modders have moved on.

Thanks. I guess that makes sense. I even heard rumors that a lot of modders don't feel like working on SE versions of their mods. Not to mention the fact that the workshop mods are gone and you have to sign up for a bethesda account and download within the game. I feel like that's too much of a hassle.

>steamworkshop mods
>bethesda.net mods

for a good year AT LEAST, the regular is the best choice. I can easily imagine the regular skyrim being the best forever.

i guess its possible. just fyi modding skyrim can be hard you have to be able to troubleshoot your game sometimes. it can be time consuming to have a well moded stable game

unless you just want to install a tiny handful of mods you shouldnt have a problem in that case

Here you go. This is exact same time of day (mid day) and weather. I'll keep my modded build (bottom) for now.

Verdant was converted to SE already?

modlist? :-)

Are there any mods that make unarmed combat fun?

>sullying the creative vision of the game designers

You don't deserve vidya

Wtf that's a little over 4 months worth of time playing Skyrim.

plz explain why

Verdant works with SE?

Ah if that's the case I might just make him play fallout 3 or NV. Wish I didn't have to force him to play anything but he just has a very very shitty taste in games. I just don't respect his tastes and would rather him not waste my second GPU.
He didn't even bother finishing kotor

I didn't mean I was only using steam workshop. I know to use the nexus for everything. Sometimes I just want to take a look at what the workshop has, though to tell the truth I haven't looked at either the workshop or the nexus in like 4 years.

Unarmed helper makes unarmed scale as you level.

There's also the Arcane Fist mod, that lets you enchant your fists with the elements, and turns the game into a Dragon Ball Z simulator.

that's true in the case of games that are actually very good vanilla+patches/DLC like New Vegas

But Skyrim is literally a bland, horribly mediocre game without mods.

you sound overbearing, let him play what he wants

You have no idea. All he plays in his life are wrestling games and gta games. I'm tired of it. Every few months I'd force a game onto him, games that I know are good and he'd most likely enjoy them....but he just goes back to the same boring ass games. How can you play the same type of game for years and not get bored of it? It's not like he's even playing them online either.

Mods.

>have over 500 hours in Skyrim
>have never played a character longer than 10 hours before finding something else that needs to be fixed, downloading a mod to fix it, restarting, and debugging
>there's now a new Skyrim out

There is no escape from this hell

Was the same time of day, just the left happened to be raining. Here is a re-do, just because the thread happened to not die in the time I was dicking around in game.

Same time of day, same as before. Original on the left, special edition on the right.

they sure enhanced the shit outta that chicken. 5/5 game playable again.

>get mod for normal Skyrim (non-SKSE)
>run in CK
>it now works on SSE
that was hard

lol I wonder how many people killed that chicken when they first started the game. I just wanted to see if it would give me meat. Didn't realize it was the towns mascot or something

the SE runs WAY better than the 2011 version

not having a crash every 15 minutes is fucking great

choosing between if you want a piss filter or not

Both on ultra settings! joking aside, I did notice that. I'm gonna make some more comparisons here and there, in places that could still be considered relatively untouched by mods so its comparing vanilla with vanilla.

I noticed the water in vanilla special edition might be better than the workshop mod that I downloaded for the original, not that I was searching for ones to really push my computer or anything.

lol

Way of the Monk with the dodge moves mod (Cant think of the name and too lazy to google.)

ebony isnt meant to be shiny and metallic looking though, so that looks shit by default

I hate how bright Special Edition is. Everything looks washed and dried out.

SE looks better just by virtue of the bottom right pic.

>playing SE
>when I use a door or entrance I can see the color filter removed for a brief instant before the load screen

mods to remove color filter when

The problem I always have with these mods is that after about 4-5 hours in-game they're no longer real gameplay-changing things, just minor annoyances I have to deal with every 10 minutes - just like Hunger in Minecraft

Just plug the ESP in after Unique Grasses, both work with SE.

I'd say the plants looks more vibrant in the special edition, but yeah, that evening filter does tint everything in the SE. Both were taken at ~5:15 in game

Yeah, I got the Realistic Water mod, and watching some guy play through the SE, I noticed his water was a FUCKLOAD nicer than mine. Although, admittedly, I don't think I ever got my mod working properly, either.

the water in SE is half assed, ive noticed water in and around the cities looks pretty nice, but out in the wilderness the rivers and streams look like ass

I may have to relook at my Realistic Water installation then.
