Is there any game where I can fight under a fascist dictatorship against an enemy I don't know isn't an actual threat and never disobey my leaders?

Yes.
Helldivers
Helldivers is literally Starship Troopers
They were fucking throwing rocks at Earth. They started it
I would like to know more.
there is starship troopers mod for l4d2
I'm from Sup Forumsuenos Aires and I say ban them all!
No they weren't. The bugs were on the other side of the galaxy. The rocks would have taken something like 60,000 years to get from the bug system to Earth.
It was a false flag
fuck off bug poster
>watching that japanese Starship Troopers movie on netflix
>topless chick scene is so cringy it hurts
>stop partway through the movie because its so godawful
Will Roughnecks ever be topped as a sequel to the movie?
Yeah pretty much Helldivers. Sadly the randomly generated maps get pretty repetitive pretty quick. Gameplay is good though.
still looks bretty good for early 2000s animation, I remember it was a rad as shit saturday morning cartoon, people got brain drained and shit.
Im just sad that theres no total conversion mod for the EDF games that turns them into Starship Troopers games.
>all the soldiers lines are replaced with lines from the movie
>IM DOING MY PART!
>IM FROM BUENOS ARIES AND I SAY KILL'EM ALL!
Is there any game where I'm part of F.E.A.R and shoot military clones?
No.
us military
Spec Ops The Line
Helldivers or Gears of War
Is therre any game that allows me to learn the importance of physical punishment in creating a stable society?
F.E.A.R.
Are there any real adaptations of ST
the movie is basically the complete opposite of the book
Earth alaways moves in space. It was a ruse, user. Stop denying it already
I have to start reading the book now.
And yet, the movie still works as a perfect adaptation of the book.
Fuck off civilicucks bugs started it and we ended it
FRANKLY I FIND THE IDEA OF A BUG THAT THINKS OFFENSIVE
Why is it that people can find the satire in Robocop but not in Starship troopers?
Robocop is more subtle and yet, people miss it in ST. Is that due to people not knowing the book as much as they should?
Movie was better entertainment than book and successfully mocked Heinlein's fascist utopia.
Every Verhoeven movie is satire or comedy.
>Starship Troopers
>Fascism
Kys
>Militarist "republic" of "worthy" people
>Every other man is second class citizen without vote
>Not fascist
Always found it amusing that there were far more things from the book in this show than the movie.
Earth Defense Force is good shit.
...
leave it to dumb leftists to turn a plothole into their propaganda so they can like this flick with no cognitive dissonance
I don't think you know what fascism means.
Sure it's great and it involves blasting hordes of giant insects but the setting and tone is totally different.
More like a meritocratic republic where the merit is patrotism desu.
Having any kind of democratic elements, even limited ones, would disqualify it as fascism.
The other great marker for fascism is nationalism. Considering that most, if not all humans live in one federation it seems nationalism has played out it's role in ST. You could argue that hostility against the bugs are a sign of nationalism, though that would be really stretching it.
You clearly don't. Limiting the vote to people tested against it is still a democracy.

everyone saw the satirical parts. verhoeven likes to be cheeky, it doesn't mean it's a political movie about how humans are evil and bugs are innocent. a modern filmmaker (like Neill Blomkamp) would have done that because they're all braindead but verhoeven is more subtle and nuanced than that
Will there ever be a picture of a Terminator armor without fucked up proportions?
I prefer Total Recall over both of them
Terminators aren't really possible unless you fucking break the marine's hips and shoulders
But if read reviews at the time (Like Siskel and Ebert), they all said it was a big dumb movie with an overbearing love on fascism even though it is the opposite.
They don't realise the entire movie itself is a propaganda movie made by the Federation. It's fucking obvious from the very beginning.
Professional movie critics are fucking retarded.
Terran Ascendancy is probably the closest you'll get. uses the movie aesthetics, has cool power armor designs. Goes off on it's own plotline, nothing amazing, but it's passable.
How is the Federation, the state that curb any kind of political freedom not fascist/authoritarian?
Fascism doesn't mean you can't be a democracy.
it's not the opposite either.. it's not a leftist movie. that manichean mindset is what makes movies horrible today
Ebert is an overrated hack so who cares.
SEE YOU AT DA PARTY REEKTAR
Unironically my favorite Ahnult movie. Yes even more than Terminator 2.
YOO GAHT WHAT YOOH WANT GIB DEZE PEEPEL AYUR!
The only real limit is that you must prove your sense of civic duty to be able to participate in elections. That is literally all there is to it.
You are correct. I was thinking too much into the commentary track with Verhoven. He and the writer bicker through it all about the vision of the movie.
Both have different outcomes via the same movie. It's odd.
CONSIDAH DAT A DIVOCE
And only way to achieve this is to join military while many people don't serve because of religion and personal beliefs.
Killzone I think
AHAHAHA. YOO DINK DIS IS THE REAL GUADE???? ID IHS!
Halo, aside from the "isn't an actual threat" part.
Here you are.
Obey orders, shoot towelheads cause they evil.
Nobody forces them to and people can still live very wealthy and comfy lives as civilians, as demonstrated by Rico's parents.
And in the book its outright stated that plenty of people serve the military in non combat roles that never go anywhere near the frontlines. Shit accountants could sign up and find a comfy desk to sit in and count while earning that sweet sweet citizenship
Medal of Honor 2010 and Warfighter
>And only way to achieve this is to join military
Nope. The book specifies that military is one way to serve. The Federation is obliged to let everyone apply for citizenship, but of course the service has to be something reasonable to the applicants abilities. Letting them run drug-trials on you is supposedly one of the worst ways to serve, if you don't qualify for anything else.
>don't serve because of religion and personal beliefs.
If they hold beliefs preventing them from sacrificing themselves for the greater good the point is that thay should have no say in ruling either.
And some people end up being genuine pigs for brand new biological weapons and medicine.
"You...are not you. You are me!"
"No shit."
How much action was the military even seeing before the bug war broke out?
Assuming the shit with the skinnies is considered part of said war
I dont think there was any mention of a war before the bugs but I assume there was. Probably kicking the shit out of the greys for abducting us all the time in the 50s
Iirc in both the book and movie it was a time of relative peace. I think the skinnier came first, then they allied with the bugs then jumped sides later.
What's more terrifying, Starship Troopers Book aliens or Movie ones?
>If they hold beliefs preventing them from sacrificing themselves for the greater good the point is that thay should have no say in ruling either.
>for the greater good
>greater good
FILTHY TAU IDENTIFIED
Just like what happens today, products are tested on people. You dont get forced into the fucking role there isnt any conscription or anything.
Prolly not much live-action, but even two years of peace-time drilling in the Mobile Infantry seems pretty harsh. The book mentions that a lot of people drop out because thay don't have what it takes. Others are discharged because of injuries and some even die.
There is literally nothing wrong with stripping the voting rights away from people who did not prove that they have an invested interest into the well-being of their country.
Hell, I'd give MY voting rights away if I knew for a fact that it would not let niggers, single mothers and other leeches who only vote for more handouts anywhere near the ballots. As long as I and anyone else could actually regain them trough civic duty/overwhelmingly positive taxes paid-handout given ratio/etc.
Shame the remake sucked bricks.
>Heinlein
>Fascist
Way to miss the point. The entire book was pointing out the FLAWS of fascism. Namely information control and unchecked government manipulation.
He was kid from rich family of dealers.
>Letting them run drug-trials on you is supposedly one of the worst ways to serve, if you don't qualify for anything else.
Worse than nazis.
There was barely any description of them, i can't recall any.
So you would take vote rights from smart but disabled people who don't serve?
As far as I know, all the sequels seem to not know what made the original satirical film so good.
>Fox Kids
Which is what's scary for me, even if it was still satire, that's some literal fascist propaganda to children
Remake was more faithful to the book but the book just doesn't translate well to a movie.
Define "well-being of their country".
>So you would take vote rights from smart but disabled people who don't serve?
It was established that there are plenty of accounting and management jobs for smart people. No reason to assume that being a scientist or a doctor won't count as a civil duty either.
>japanese Starship Troopers
You mean the anime OVA?
>Worse than nazis.
It's your choice, no one is forced to serve and there is no punishment if you wish to drop out.
How is running drug trials on willing participants worse then the nazis?
>ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country
Definitely the book aliens, since they were basically space commies as technologically advanced as mankind.
They were at peace until the Bug war. The skinnies were allies of the bugs and the raids conducted on them happened after the battle of Klendathu.
People used to join the service just to fuck around and get citizenship, but it became all the more important and tougher during the war.
Only that it never actually took place on Mars.
>>Letting them run drug-trials on you is supposedly one of the worst ways to serve, if you don't qualify for anything else.
Citizenship is a form of currency in the Federation, as in it gives you many benefits that are often directly or indirectly financial in nature — easier to get good jobs, government financial support such as a better pension, etc.
Instead what we have now is a company paying you a few hundred bucks for drug testing. Same difference, really.
This one.
Invasion
I bet you niggers like TTIP and the absolute power of bankers and companies.
Hey, last century called, they want their idiotic views back.
Book versions. Gigantic, claustrophobic hive complexes ran underneath the surface of the planet. They were scary smart too.
...
And super pragmatic. "They expend warriors like we expend ammunition!"
What does a "Mormon Extremist" do, anyway? Radical handicrafts?
>bugcucks actually believe this
I don't want to know any more.
