I think it's more that the devs shouldn't be the ones to spoonfeed every single detail in the game into a wiki.

It'd basically be like masturbating about how genius they are.

They should do a better job of documenting how shit works in-game but they shouldn't be making a resource detailing every single aspect about a game. And a lot of a fandom's game knowledge usually comes from people datamining shit or reverse-engineering aspects of the game the devs didn't want people to see so it wouldn't make sense for the devs to host/publish that information either.
