am i a faggot for picking standard?
>playing POE starting the white frost dlc

>increase challenge
>same reward
waste of time. Everyone complains about level scaling but I want to stumble upon new content in my own time, when I'm good and ready instead of trying to 100% everything in any given area as soon as I can
its better to play standard first so you know what you getting yourself into. be a pain to hit a wall somewhere.
Im downloading this game right now, anything i should know?
Probably going as Raider.
>Raider
for starters, there are no mounts in this game.
its even worse when they dont warn you that completing a certain quest will boot you out of an area so you dont have time to go back, especially when that area is required to start an expansion quest (though this isn't really relevant to PoE it's still something that happens in rpgs)
I've already played Diablo 2 and 3, Grim dawn, sacred 1 and 2 and some other stuff, will i find Raider too boring? Any suggests on which class to pick?
I tried playing it a while ago, the dialogue is kinda shitty, not shitty in a fun way either it's just verbose for the sake of appearing to be more intelligent than it actually is. The combat is pretty but encounters are very repetitive and have little effort put into them so it's clear the game was made with the intention of story/roleplaying at the center, even though they are the weakest aspects of the game.
im lucky i saved outside the last dungeon. i thought the dlc started after completing the main quest but, i was wrong.
>The rewards you receive will be the same regardless
What did they mean by this?
Challenge IS the reward.
This.
No fun in killing enemies that won't do any damage anyways
i played a rouge thief. it was alright. just dont think you can doge everything just because you have high dex.
maybe be a guts build? (warrior or barbarian ,two handed weapon, full strength)
gear/xp/gold/whatever should be in proportion to the difficulty involved. Even lots of action games have extra content like different enemies and endings that are not available without completing the game on higher difficulties. You should be rewarded for your gumption. Even Halo 3 had an additional ending cutscene you cannot see without completing legendary difficulty, basically robbing you of a vital part of the story's conclusion if you play ez mode
>gear/xp/gold
That just leads to a power spiral.
>Halo 3 had an additional ending cutscene you cannot see without completing legendary difficulty
CE has different intro and I think Sarge and some random Elite hugging in the end is Legendary exclusive too.
>that just leads to a power spiral
If you don't want to become powerful over time why play an RPG
>CE has a different intro etc
Yeah I remembered there were some other bits and pieces in the previous games but I couldn't remember clearly what they were so I didn't bring them up, the Halo 3 ending stuck with me the most
I agree with ya, yet i think it's ok to do something harder just for the sake of it, some more challenges in games are always welcome.
>constant trash mobs
>no exp awarded for kills
WHAT, WERE THEY THINKING?
Ideally, I want to become more powerful in non-linear ways (so not just getting a sword that does 10 points more damage, but maybe that and a new kind of attack that is better in some circumstances and worse in other), but I still want to be challenged.
to hardcore for you?
Gameplay is the reward and it would be more engaging if you can't face roll the keyboard and win
take some adderall and put your glasses on next time. maybe you'd be able to work out that I wasn't saying I want to faceroll but I want to get some worthwhile gear like you'd get for investing the same amount of time on a level-appropriate area
The gear is meaningless if the game is not fun. The entire point of a game is the gameplay
>the gear is meaningless
Why is it an RPG and not an action game like Hatred or Exanima then? What is the point of even developing a stat growth system at all if it is so irrelevant to the gameplay?
