Final Fantasy

Which Final Fantasy game will you be playing this month before Final Fantasy XV (the greatest game of all time) releases? What FF games have you played this year?

I'm going to play Final Fantasy V since that's the only retro FF I haven't touched yet, but also because it seems like FFXV will be referencing V more than any other FF game, as far as enemies go.

This year I played FF4, Type-0 HD, FF14, World of FF, and Brave Exvius.

I'm finishing FF VI for the first time right now.
Pretty good, aside from few bullshit bosses, forced party split and a AWFULLY HIGH encounter rate.

I'm currently playing FFV on my phone, it's my favorite game along with IX and XII.

Thinking about getting the ffx HD collection even though I own both games and have 100% both in the past multiple times. I've never played the international version before and those superbosses look fun. Also trophies.

That's one of the things I like most about FF6.

I can't find the comparison pic, but a huge number of FFXV enemies are ripped straight out of FFV, including: Catoblepas, Garulas, and the large samurai enemies.

I'm going to play none of them because I just know I won't finish in time or I'll get overattached and not want to play XV until I'm done. Still finishing up with World of FF.

Agreed. It caused a lot of interesting encounters and parties to happen, both story and gameplay-wise.

To add to what this user is getting across poorly, there was an interview floating around saying they drew heavy inspiration from V

XIV, Mobius and Brave Exvius. XV doesn't interest me and I'm probably not getting a PS4 until the new Dissidia gets released on console anyway.

I hate Brave Exvius and Record Keeper, what is Mobius like? Is it a more traditional FF or is it another autistic FF crossover freemium crap like BE and RK?

That was a pretty dope moment actually. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Finished FF VI for the first time the other day and wow I now understand why people like to go on about it all the time. I played it on ps1 so the load times were atrocious but still had a blast. It made as big an impression as any FF game I played before it, if not more.

the closest comparison is that it's like a turn based Lightning Returns (though global does not have job switching mid battle yet). It still has a gacha, but once you pull a job you can't get duplicates and limited time ability cards are introduced in packs with no randomness so it's a lot less frustrating. It definitely has the fairest gacha of the mobile games.
