As always, Americans are the good guys.
>not playing with polish va
stupid anglos
It's presumably a Rivia accent that he deliberately adopted.
Next you'll complain all the obvious viking-based people are irish.
Also
>not playing in polish
Plenty of people other than Geralt have American accents
Eskel lambert Vesemir are the only ones I can think of
>>not playing with polish va
Why would anyone do that?
No offense but your language sounds awful. I would rather choose Russian VA over Polish.
Dandelion, Triss, Cat School Witcher fag, couple inconsequential NPCs.
His accent is an accent in the game world. Just like how Nilfgaardians tend to sound like full Third Reich Nazi Germany motherfuckers, or how Skelege people sound like whatever the fuck accent that is.
>high pitched fish person rape voice
fuck off you braindead weeb
Don't you have toilet to open up or something, Wojtek?
Triss, Dandelion, and maybe Letho but his accent is kind of weird
Skelege is Scottish and Northern Irish
They wanted to change all VAs to Witcher 2, but they kept geralt since he did a good job and people would be identified with it. So they kept. Also, it suits him very well, he knows other languages too, them he is prone to have a diferent accent.
Like in Thedas all the sophisticated people have European accents. Americans are Midgets and Qunari, which should be badass but they are all bi, big ass dudes fucking eachother bs
DAI is pure retconning and should not be considered canon
Nilfgaardians sound French, not German.
Feels so damn good I can't even tell you.
i hate this "every super main character/protagonist must sound as if he had throat cancer" meme
>people are actually doing this
>they talk themselves into believing it's better
>when they don't speak polish
Geralt comes from Rivia, do you know what a Rivian accent sounds like? People from Toussaint sound French, people from Skellige sound Scottish, and people from Nilfgaard sound some sort of Germanic.
>Society based around totalitarian pragmatism
>Sten being legitimately flabbergasted at the notion of people acting outside their assigned roles
>Oh but if you *feel* like you're something you're not we'll totally respect that!
Yea, that was some retarded bullshit
As nice as the voice is, it's really poorly cut from line to line to make it fit.
Shut the fuck up.
Skellige is Irish.
The Polish actor for Geralt especially is much better then Gruff McGrizzly did for the english voice. I bet you'd play stalker in english.
It has subtitles and is therefore better and more sophisticated don't you know?
all the dubs were botched at that scene
Who woulda thunk
No.
Adorable, it's angry today :)
what exactly is an american accent.
From what I hear it's just "normal and serious"
You should play with Russian or Polish VA
It's when you mispronounce the 'H' sound and merge the Mary, Merry and Marry sounds and the Cot and Caught sounds.
:) thanks.
>Mary, Merry and Marry
those are supposed to sound different?
They're Scottish you dumbass.
It's norwgian, two of the towns there are named after actual norwegian places (lofoten and larvik). And they even use norwegian curse words, such as "fy faen" wich is the norwegian equivalent of saying fuck
Yes you pleb.
>All of the people in the game have english accents
They absolutely fucking don't
vocaroo it.
There's also some random Dutch accents.
i dont remember british or american accents
triss isnt british
Absolutely no reason to do so unless you understand polish.
Geralt imitates a Rivian accent. There's a reason why his voice changes when he gets drunk.
fuck you if that's not true cause that's cool as shit.
Netherlands, not france.
It's a Rivian accent. It is directly addressed in the fucking game. Stop making retarded threads
I literally said Russian sounds better than Polish so its obvious i would have no issue with playing stalker in Russian.
Your language is shitty version of Russian without that pleasant feminine sounding words, deal with it.
>Not playing the game in polish
L O L
:startmusic:
>Geralt comes from Rivia
No he doesn't, he pretends to to get work
Hes presumably from Kaedwin, since that's the Witcher school he went to
This. I've played all 3 games in English and then replayed all 3 this year in Polish. The Polish VA is excellent and I much prefer Polskie Geralt. I speak very little Polish, but you don't need to be fluent in a language to recognize the quality of voice work. Look at how many weebs don't speak a word of Jap outside of "kawaii and baka" yet only watch subbed anime. Just because my Polish mostly revolves around conjugation of the word pierdolÄ™ doesn't mean I can't enjoy the VA.
Besides, the Polish VA helps put me more in the world.
It's true. Witchers are all supposed to pick their own name and homeland. Geralt chose Rivia and trained to have a Rivian accent. It's only by accident he helped save the Queen of Lyria and was officially knighted as Geralt of Rivia.
It's the same as saying someone has a "British accent". There are several accents in Britain, as there are in America. It's such a broad term it doesn't really say anything other than they are from that country.
No, the guy who dresses you sounds Dutch but the rest don't.
t. dutchman
Fuck off eurofag, I speak how I was raised to.
And also lecherous mutant degenerates?
>shitty western localization
Nothing new under the sun.
hocus pocus shari mari tvoia stara to tvoi stary unless you reply to this post
t-thanks
>be norwegian
>mfw the cringe that is blood and wine accents
makes me want a refund
The amount of kurwas across these games should be more than enough to make anyone want to switch to the Polish VA.
all the Witchers have American accents. get fukt
Because Geralt is a foreigner you fucking idiot.
Yeah but Fear a Batha is a gaelic song.
>2016
>playing dubs
Fucking disgusting
>being polish
>all the witchers have american accents
really makes u think huh
Nah they're irish (mostly northern irish). Dwarves are scottish.
Im irish btw
>being too retarded to have subs on
Even fucking overworld dialogue has overhead text. There is no fucking excuse.
You mean, the localization dub?
Because in the original version (as intended by the creators), they don't have an english/american accent.
YOU played an inferior version of the game. Sorry for you.
Nothing wrong with enjoying media in its original language, even if you need subtitles.
Unless The Witcher is actually made in English first I guess, haven't played the series yet.
I bet you play Jap games with dubs, faggot
Simultaniously. But the writers are polish and it's really, really fucking hard to not rely on your language's rules when writing anything, even when you are fluent in English
Skellige is an island in Ireland.
It's clearly an amalgamation of gaelic and scandinavian culture.
it's not specifically nordic/scottish/irish.
Far from how the game played (which I really didn't mind, honestly), this is THE most annoying aspect of it.
I know they tried to justify it in the sequel but holy shit, why was it even allowed at all?
Why wouldn't I? Who in their right mind would hant to hear that fucking shrieking and squealing?
>only read text
>ignore everything spoken
>this is totally superior to someone just listening
kek
American accents will kind of mix it up really.
If everyone had English accents it would kind of be weird in a game with such emphasis on different kingdoms.
>having attention deficits so deep that you can't read and listen at the same time
Kek indeed.
American people don't have accents you fucking retard.
yeah polish language is just pszybrzyszczchny crap all the time
The Irish and Gaelic influence stops with the name of the island family. Literally EVERYTHING ELSE is Scandinavian. The names of the towns and people, the architecture, the clothing, the culture, the ships, the religion, and the way society is organized is all Viking Age Scandinavia. Saying that Skellige is somehow based on Ireland because it has the name of some tiny Irish island is incredibly retarded. Even the names of their rulers (jarls and the konig) are directly Norse.
I meant konung. Konig is German.
>He thinks he can understand the witcher lore without any knowledge of Polish/Slavic history
Tip top kek
*tips rolls of fat*
Their accents are Scottish or Irish
Isn't that because you are a foreigner in the game?
No they're not. They're not Irish or Scottish in the least. Only retarded Americans believe that.
He's obviously being ironic, you brain-dead moron.
Toussaint is French but not many of the npcs have a pronounced accent. I mean, the french accent is often used jokingly so that would be boring to have everyone speak like that.
Their accents are Scottish
Nilfgaard is basicly Rome with modern germany aesthetics
And the Nilfgaardians have a Welsh accent. Does that mean Nilfgaard is Wales? Because they're more heavily influenced by Wales than Skellige is influenced by the Scots and Irish, considering their language is basically Welsh.
Lads the Skellige accent is irish, mostly northern ireland.
Obviously skellige is based on the vikings but there are a lot of irish influences.
(also the vikings did settle in many places in ireland, and founded many of its cities)
Skelligers have Northern-Irish accents there are a few with more southern sounding ones but the vast majority are Northern-Irish sounding.
How can you not tell?
The Nilfgaardian accent and language is faux-Welsh.
The North speaks with English accents.
I guess Nilfgaard = Wales and The North = England even though literally everything else says otherwise.
