>Fusion: Seen as a departure from what made Super good. No one liked it. >Prime: Seen as a Halo rip off. No one liked it. The majority of it's sales came from being packaged in with GameCubes. >Prime 2: Overtly linear with a stupid dual world mechanic and ammo system. No one liked it. >Zero Mission: A remake of the first game with added, underwhelming content. No one liked it. >Prime 3: Too much like a generic space marine game. No one liked it. Also motion controls. >Other M: No one liked it. >Federation Force: SJW fans were upset that the female lead was replaced by generic space marines. No one liked it.
It's almost like these games aren't nearly as good as people think they are.
Christian Lewis
delete your Sup Forums account please, this post sucks
Oliver Cruz
But I liked all of those games except Other M. We can argue about the quality and specific aspects about each game that makes one better than another, but this discussion comes up because people like the games and want them to have sequels that improve upon the previous ones.
Elijah Morgan
Super Metroid is the only one people actually like. Starfox is the same way with 64.
Adam Walker
Fusion: was linear but I liked it Prime series: was overrated and I was never fond of them as a whole Zero Mission: first half that was a remake of the original Metroid was great and proved that the new devs for 2D Metroid knew how to make a 2D Metroid, second half (Sakamoto's shit) not so much Other M: was shit
Mason Nguyen
>no one liked prime >litearlly a 10/10
Colton Brown
I liked Samus' sass in Other M.
Robert Harris
You're supposed to try with your bait.
Gavin Stewart
>OP makes a post. No one liked it.
Jeremiah Roberts
Well its because Metroid games aren't good. Why they call themselves fans though is anyone's guess.
Adam Morgan
That's not entirely true, I like Metroid 1-4 and the first half of Zero Mission.
John Long
user you just listed a bunch of games I love, and then Other M and FF

>People are trying to meme Metroid like they did with Sonic
Nathaniel Moore
Are you denying that was what happened?
Chase Powell
The awful, slow paced, overtly casual, broken singleplayer that was gimped to be a "multiplayer friendly" experience might've caused more damage than Samus being replaced, but sure. Let's blame dem darn SJWs.
Owen Taylor
Did it even happen at all?
Jaxon Perry
>Singleplayer
It wasn't made to be a singleplayer game.
that would be like if I shit on Splatoon for having a short single player mode.
That overwhelming negative response on social media? yeah, those were SJWs all right. It had their MO written all over it.
Chase Hall

Jonathan Foster
Just because some tart in power armor threw a sword at you doesn't mean it's bait!
Michael Harris
SJW dont even know about Metroid games. I doubt they even give a fuck about Nintendo games other than Zelda to begin with. However they know "that guy Metroid" form Smash. And how do you imagine Metroid game without Samus? Its like Doom without Doomguy.
Samuel Lopez
Jesus this thread. Look at all these shills shilling their precious Other M, what a disaster of a board.
Joshua Robinson
>It wasn't made to be a singleplayer game. Then it was doomed from the start. Metroid is a singleplayer game only, and should never veer from this path. Yes, this does mean that I Despise Metroid Prime Hunters as well. Look at the trashy online that it offered, and how it was plagued by hackers and cheaters and exploits a mere month into its release, and let's not forget the singleplayer which was also garbage.
With all due respect, if you wanna jerk off to online gamer scores and achievements and leaderboards, then take your boner for multiplayer and go play Call of Duty.
Jace Lewis
>this pathetic falseflagging when OP is literally calling people SJWs for disliking Other M
Angel Hill
No user, you're supposed to put a false statement next to your meme arrow
Austin Brown

OP doesn't know shit.
Isaac Torres
metroid blast was pretty great
Jordan Price
I want to bury my face in the ass of Samus' power armor, along with her thighs.
That aside, I really enjoyed Fusion. Sure the story was kinda garbo in that the AI = ADAM OMG HE'S ALIVE ; u;) That kinda ruined it for me to some degree, but otherwise, it was a pretty solid game and I enjoyed running from the SA-X.
Some people have even made videos exploiting it's AI and teasing it.
Can't speak for any of the others, but I did play the Federation Force demo. It was kind of enjoyable as well, but certainly not a Metroid game.
For me, Metroid is about the music, and the sense of loneliness that it instills. You are alone on this planet, and you're doing the work that no one else will, or an do. You're hunting the biggest names out there, and they know it. They're not going to give up easily, and will do everything in their power to stop you. So exploring, finding all those little tidbits and power-ups, that's something I really enjoy.
Adrian Flores
What does Gundam have to do with this?

user you and everyone else here know damn well that wasn't why everyone hated Federation Force

>Metroid is a singleplayer game only
What a narrow minded world view. That'd be like saying that... say, a Mario game could never have four players playing at once.
Games evolve and change. As do we all.
>SJWs don't know about Metroid games.
No. SJWs are the reason Samus even has a fanbase to begin with .The only thing anyone knows or cares about when it comes to Metroid is that the protagonist is a woman. Bring up the series to anyone you know, and they will bring it up.
That is why it is an SJW series. Actual gamers don't give a fuck about Metroid.
It was that, and the art style. People don't like being reminded that Metroid is actually not all that different from any other Nintendo property.
Liam Baker
This, most people got butthurt because they got a game rather than a cinematic experience like they canted.
David Stewart
No dumbass, it was the artstyle and the gameplay.
Jaxon Edwards
>What a narrow minded world view. That'd be like saying that... say, a Mario game could never have four players playing at once. No, it's a proven thesis. Metroid's very best was when it was singleplayer only. Any time it ventured into multiplayer, it was a disgusting disaster.
Jeremiah Kelly
The gameplay was no different than an average Prime game.
The gameplay wasn't even considered when 'fans' decided the game was crap. Without that 'mature' artstyle that they can use to brag online the series lost all value in the eyes of 'fans.' And without Samus, they were able to try and pull the 'sexism' angle.
Matthew Watson
There was literally nothing wrong with FF's artsyle
Matthew Morgan
Size and proportions were completely out of whack, for one. And it didn't understand subtlety in color application. Everything had to be an extremely bright shade of blue or red.
Charles Cruz
>Metroid: This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move. Nobody liked it.
Evan Powell
>it was no different from the average Prime game Except for the lack of exploration, the shallow non-connected worlds, the casual garbage they called missions, the terribly optimized singleplayer, the lack of creativity in enemies and bosses, and every single part of the game being too linear. And then of course came the fact that the game shoved WAY too much story in your face.
Gabriel Perry
Why is Other M so hated? Honest question, ive never played it. Isnt it a combonation of 2d sidescroller and 3d prime type gameplay? Sounds good...
Henry Howard
Metroid blast was flawless
Brandon Butler
>Fusion: Seen as a departure from what made Super good. Great control scheme, new spin on old items, new direction for the story in Samus's position of weakness and the Federation being villainous, more narrative which wasn't too forced but still may not be the best storytelling medium. Many people still liked it, despite its linearity. Divisive game. >Prime: Seen as the new face of Metroid. Basically every mainstream Metroid has been 3D since. Incredibly well received and amazingly designed. >Prime 2: Seen as the black sheep of the Prime trilogy, sort of the Dark Souls 2. People say it's the worst, but if you play it, it's still really good. >Zero Mission: A remake of the first game with fun extra bosses and powerups, and more areas to do shit in. Lots of fun secrets and short-cuts, complete overhaul of the map. How a remake should be. Inspired AM2R to be the best it could. Something many people wish Nintendo could do again. >Prime 3: The shittiest of the trilogy in my opinion, but it pioneered the AMAZING Wii motion controls that make the trilogy so great to go back to on Wii. 100% an improvement in control to 1 and 2. Really boring maps and exploration, but awesome bosses and interesting story. >Other M: Terrible control scheme, vapid and mindless gameplay, boring map design, no atmosphere, hamfisted and blunt story fraught with continuity errors and stupid decisions, actively fighting the player every step of the way. A truly awful game. >Federation Force: Completely unrelated game that became a stupid spin-off of a series that hasn't seen a real game in nearly a decade, longer if you don't count Prime. Another of Nintendo's poorly thought out blunders.
How can you be so wrong?
Landon Cruz
>I've never played the game, the post.
Wew.
I didn't cover the first two games because I didn't grow up with them, but II sucks because of it's linearity and tedious aspects while everything looks the same in in the first.
Hating it is a meme. It's honestly better than a lot of other games that came out around that time. Like... say, Dead Space.
Robert Roberts
I'm convinced that M. Night Shyamalan was involved in Other M somehow. right down to the tweest at the end.
Eli Lee
>I've never played the game, the post.
Oh, what a canned response. Might as well have just called me an SJW if you were gonna meme.
Thomas Morales
Apart from the story.
No exploration at all, which is also the key problem with FF. So basically it's a NG-like action game, only with so few fucking buttons your only real attack is fire, so it's an action game with absolutely no mechanical variety seeing as you have one fucking move.
The dodge move is retardedly overpowered, it's like 100% invincibility frames and you mash the d-pad to activate it. Thing is it only activates if an attack is coming your way while you do it, so there is no possible way to dodge too early.
Pixel hunt sequences.
Missile can only be used in first person, which not only requires you to change the way you hold the controller but ALSO locks you into place while you use it.
Blake Torres
What fucking reality are you from? The only thing you got right was Other M
Jason Peterson
who fucking cares
Sebastian Ramirez
Here come the waifufags to ruin another Metroid thread. Although this one was ruined from the start, really.

Other M is also the most recent game featuring Samus.

Shouldn't call yourself a 'no one' user.
Jackson Hill
Because Metroid "fans" are actually Super fanboys who shit on anything that isn't Super. It would actually go like this:
>Metroid: Primitive version of Super >Super: The only real Metroid game >Prime: Super with 3D camera issues >ZM: Super with forced stealth mission >Fusion: Linear Super bad plot >Other M: Console version of Fusion >FF: Blast-Ball spinoff of Super
I myself don't find Super that memorable. The real meat of the series is Prime games.
Gavin Diaz
my only purpose is to ruin metroid threads because I fucking hate you faggots
Brandon Williams
Except that isn't true at all.
Jason Moore
Prime 1 and 3 are the best video games set in a first-person perspective ever forged by man so I'm not sure what you're talking about.
Easton Ward
Here's a real metroid fan and not a faggot like op.
>Fusion: Awesome, not as much as Super, but still good with the X to deal with. Nice ideas, absorbing them to heal/power up yourself was really nice. >Prime: Simply a masterpiece and instant-classic. Everytime I play it I enjoy it like the first time. >Prime 2: Same as above, with added light/dark worlds that is someting I really like in videogames. My favourite from the trilogy. >Zero Mission: Finally the first metroid is enjoyable without having to deal with it's bullshit and lacking of map. Really great. >Prime 3: The perfect conclusion for the trilogy, using Phazon was the greatest thing about it. >Other M: No one liked it. You're right OP. >Federation Force: It's shit. You're right again OP.
Brody Hill
>SJWs are the reason Samus even has a fanbase to begin with
People loved the Metroid series before your mother even shited you out, let alone the SJW movement.
There aren't that many games because it fails to appeal to the developer's home audience.
Brayden Harris
Samus is shitty fapbait stop pretending otherwise
Evan Hill
I like all of the games you listed there except Other M for obvious reasons and Fed Force because I never played it.
The "problem" is simply that each Metroid game is different. Super is not Fusion, Fusion is not Prime, Prime is not Zero Mission, etc. etc.
I can appreciate every different approach. But not every approach appeals to everyone.

Its a open source metroid game called Mengine.

A remake of Metroid SR388's engine
Eli Bailey
Interesting. I always liked how MSR388 looked. Hopefully somebody does something with it.
Brandon Russell
Prime 3 was still good. The formula was starting to lose steam but it pulled through in the end. A Prime 4 probably would be dodgy at this point, though.
Mason Collins
>you were one of the people that wanted a co-op metroid game featuring federation soldiers I couldn't of been monkey pawed harder even if Satan was behind the wheel
Blake Edwards
Huh. I thought I'd tried everything on the keyboard, but obviously I did not. Thanks, mang
Jace Bell
Prime 4 would be fine as long as they had new powerups and ways to use them.
Gavin Moore
Uhh.
Xavier Gray
If prime 4 becomes a thing, I'd hope the dev team focuses on NOT splitting the world's into their own sections ala prime 2 energy nodes and prime 3's leviathans. As a bonus, make the area themes significantly more alien
Jeremiah Jenkins
>not wanting a co op game with houston you did this.
