Battery lasts 5 hours while gaming, and about 10 hours for multimedia use

This was the proto-Switch, and we all know it. I think it's reasonable to look to this thing to see what to expect from the Switch. It won't be $400, it won't run dead after 2 hours, and they won't have to downclock the Tegra. Thoughts?

I think this thread will not get any attention as Sup Forums only cares about jaded pessimism and shitposting.

>costed

Nintendo is kill if the Switch is $300. $250 is doable.

So you're saying that Nintendo's Switch is just rebranded Nvidia Shield tablet? Wow, they really are gonna die. Nintendo is finished!

Switch is the next Shield product. Nvidia codeveloped it, and it's probably using their newest Tegra.

Nintendo has gone Android?

>Thoughts?
That deluded nintendrones should kill themselves now to avoid the embarrassment the Switch will cause them on launch day when it's revealed to be a piece of shit like any sane person thinks it will be

It's only the strategy that worked for the Wii.

t. butthurt

i literally bought one when i saw that the switch was coming out. it's a solid piece of hardware that's held back by the android tv os i believe. i can emulate any console up to the ps1 era with no real downside, gamecube and wii at 40 fps though. added bonus of it being an android tv system is that you can run it as an ftp server that's always on so you don't have to fug around with a baby server in your house. also plex is p. neat. i can see myself using this thing 5 years down the line just to play old video games.
all in all 8/10

Everybody should own a K1; it's just so versatile, although since I got a Pixel C I only use it with DeskDock, and not for real tablet stuff.

It's a good thing considering the shield is the best tablet on the market.

Thanks for the information, OP. This bodes well for the life of the Switch.

t. delusional nintendrone that plays with his toy in public

If it gets a ton of indie ports like minecraft, fnaf, undertale plus a ton of call of duty shit then it will be fine.

Best for the price, and if you want a small tablet, but the Pixel C is by far the best overall.

I own both.

I've been considering upgrading from my Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 Plus to the K1, and was curious how nice it really is for the price.

Also, is the shield controller really worth $60, or would it be better to just buy a Dualshock 4 or some other BT controller to play on it?

And one last thing, but any recommended bluetooth keyboards for it? I want to do some typing alongside gaming on the go, since I have a weird job

Any clue if it'll go on sale for Black Friday or Cyber Monday?

t. quentincuck that thinks he's cool for playing fartstone and candy cuck

I cannot wait for this to sell well and all the Sony fanboys cry out on Sup Forums "well it's not a real system it's a handheld so obviously it would sell well, but it's not a real system and only children/ manchildren play it". The tears will be delicious.

You can plug headphones into the switch controller, that's more or less its best feature. It's just a bluetooth controller.

Everything goes on sale for black friday/cyber monday

The controller is SUPER useful, feels even more solid than either the DS4 or XB1 controller, and the mic works flawlessly, but it's kind of a bastard.

Even though I really like the DS4 the most, the XB1 S controller is the best controller out now for Android and PC usage. It uses a normal bluetooth connection vs the root-only crashyourdevicedriverbullshit solution to use a DS4 on android.

I'd say go XB1 S, or Shield controller, but not DS4.

So...this is the power...of the nintendrone

>bada bing
If a spinoff Mario game had Mario talk like a gambino id love it

Huh, didn't realize that was a feature for the controller. I read that it uses wifi for faster speeds than bluetooth, and had less latency as a result.

I'm thinking of using the tablet to stream FFXIV while I'm off elsewhere to do some quick gathering and other non-demanding stuff, but the idea of having the chance to do more serious content sounds appealing as a selling point.

Already have a DS4, but never used the Xbox One controller before. the D-Pad is the biggest thing to me in a controller, as I will likely use emulation when not messing with newer apps.

Not sure either of you kind anons would know, but any clue how the Adobe Creative Cloud apps like Premiere Clip / Lightroom Mobile work on it? And is the built in Twitch streaming good for any app, or just certain ones?

Any recommendations of what you can do with a desk dock outside of browsing web pages?

My tablet is still collecting dust because I haven't found a proper use for it

I hope the Switch gets some non gaming apps too, it'd be easier to convince someone to take a tablet with them if it's multiuse.

>Nintendo's Switch is just a rebranded Nvidia Shield
This was repeated over and over on this board. Nobody wanted to believe it.

I'll be fucking laughing when this piece of shit forces Nintendon't to go 3rd party

>tfw Nintendo has NEVER had a video player of any kind
The closest they came was playing short clips in the Wii photo channel. I'm not optimistic since closed platforms rarely have proper video support, but I can dream.

It's a Nintendo thread, that means it's guaranteed to be filled with jaded pessimism and shitposting

You're not getting smash, broseph. Only dead Shit Farter 5

Ohh the D-Pad on the Shield Controller is worse than the 360's, so, literally the worst D-Pad I have ever used yet... Yet it's in the DS4's D-Pad position... Think of the most mushy D-Pad ever... It's a lot more mushy than that. But the analog sticks are fine, although your thumbs can actually touch while using them. The buttons are okay, and the overall weight and feel is more like a handheld console than any other controller I've ever felt. Like I said, a bastard, it's super unique and weird, but not bad at most things.

I have a chromecast audio hooked up to my PC's aux in, so I cast music from my tablet to my PC and control it via that. I have an ultrawide instead of multi-monitor setup, so this works for me. Ohh, and Fallout 4's companion app is epic with this setup. It's at least a use for my shield tablet since I got my Pixel C.

that's fucking stupid, but not as stupid as you are

>2016
>playing Smash
You are supposed to try to convince me that you don't have autism, not of the contrary

Ohh and if you have a Shield Tablet, not the K1 but the one with the stylus, you can use it as a neat stylus note-taking device... But WTF writes down notes when you can type them? I guess if you like to draw, it works great for that.

Ah, and the MiniHDMI out, you could just hook it up to any TV and play RetroArch just as well as you could with a Shield Console.

Reported.
