How many KH are there?

HYPED

youtube.com/watch?v=al8YkZe4q2M
Superior version

Let's get this party started

>blandest character
>not Kairi
>not Xion
>not any number of Org. XIII characters

I'm hyped as fuck too

every one of those characters has more personality than aqua, are you serious

Why do you not like it narratively? Personally I think she's the best fit for it, since she's the only Keyblade wielder with zero combat experience and is also in need of training.

Having an hour of playing as her learning the ropes before you swap over to Sora is the easiest way to fit a tutorial into KH3 from a narrative sense imo.

That lightning left on the ground god damn
Now this is shitposting

I'm sad they remove reaction commands. They added some good variety and there some great RC in KH2, all they had to do is make them ore timing based like some of them actually are

>Three minutes and thirty seconds of Aqua
Nomura knows where his bread is buttered

They did nothing for KH2 but ruin most of the boss fights desu

Reaction commands are a complete joke. Pure "cinematic gameplay", a QTE that doesn't require any real timing. Good call to remove them for KH3

Well with KH1 it's obviously Sora being introduced to darkness.

WIth KH2 you play as Roxas as an introduction to what a nobody is. Nobodies is the whole second chapter to everything darkness from the first game, so its puts you in the shoes of Sora: nobody form. It works well when its wrapped up in the end. Every nobody is killed. Roxas and Namine are back to Sora and Kairi.

And like I said, I like the idea of Kairi training, but her rising into a position of strength would have to be a major overarching narrative, rather than a side one, for her to be a satisfying introductory character. If you start as her, and you finish the game without an explicit emphasis on her, than it just won't come off all that well.

I get that BBS kinda did this, but that was a more deliberate setup whereas 3 feels like a finale where such purpose seems unwarranted.

I'm not saying don't have her be playable, (although desu I only want a limit with her, and maybe a small playable role like Riku's in KH2, moreso than actually fully playable) but putting her in the beginning is just a bit much.

Don't pick on wizards, kids

I will miss doing cool or silyl shit to heartless or nobodies. KH isn't a high end characer action game. Take out every RC scene from KH2 and tell me it's still just as good

Right. If Nomura replaced Sora with a twat central female protagonist and you never again control a male character, much less Sora, KH's sales would drop.

Only cucks like to pretend they are women.....well cucks and trannies.

Put down the meth pipe, Billy

Using blanket statements like this is retarded. KH2 obviously had cases where it was more flashiness over substance, but there were several excellent uses for it. Not even just with the bosses, but with a lot of the nobodies.

Got a webm of her doing the ice surf?

A few of them where timing based though or actually added more evasion methods and shit. KH2 without the RC would be boring as fuck

It is nine times out of ten style over substance. Low risk, high reward. Really the only time when using a reaction command is a gamble is against Xemnas, and you have to be a fucking moron to be punished by that.

I feel pretty much the same. There's games after 3, so Kairi can get her game after, so I'm really fine with her either being optional like Mickey, or her just having a cool partner limit of sorts with Sora. What's important isn't that she is playable. What's important is that she's handled better than in the past.

The boss ones were mostly flashy, but for Nobodies they were legit additions. There just needed to be more timing based and less random.

I stop taking KH2FM fags seriously when they complain about the reaction commands being removed. We're not on the PS2 or PSP anymore kids, we're on a PS4. We can have do cool shit which isn't scripted now

>9/10

No. Especially on Crit lvl 1

I AM a KH2FM fag and I am going to take him seriously. It's well-divided topic and there's no reason to not discuss its exclusion.

>Organization XIII members
>bland
Not one of them was bland

Not all the reaction commands are scripted cutscenes though, most of the heartless and nobody rc's aren't
And removing RCs could also just mean that we now get cutscenes without any interaction every few seconds in bossfights or that we just the the same few combos against a huge boss like the one in Mulans world etc. until it just explodes and dies

It's a QTE. It's bad. And if you need to qualify an outdated QTE mechanic by saying it's good on Crit Lvl 1 like this faggot, then you're not actually interested in discussing gameplay mechanics, you're just fanboying over KH2

Drive forms are great. Limit Breaks are great. Reaction Commands are the definition of cinematic gameplay and I can't take "Muh game depth" seriously when a QTE exists as a major game mechanic

They just allowed you to do things you normally couldn't. They aren't QTEs and are directly integrated into gameplay. In some cases, you could actually fail QTEs, such as the ones when you are up against samurai.

Or we get ones like KH1 where you have to scale them via platforming to reach weakpoints, time guards in order to stun them, and generally use your standard moveset in order to defeat them instead of activating a cutscene to sheer off a chunk of their health or knock them out every other minute.

Or hell, maybe they ditch that very basic and simple formula for something more complex and interesting that doesn't involve QTEs. Lord knows plenty of other series have managed it.

>Namine being of use
>COM aesthetic

this isn't going to happen and now I'm going to be sad

So you want her to be this unrealistically competent twat fighter stereotype? I want her to be Videl from Dragonball. I want her to train and then when she gets her first fight? Gets her ass handed to her and quits fighting altogether and becomes a baby making machine.

That's what women are for.

>dismissing the objective fact that KH2's combat variety shines more in harder difficulties

If you were just an assmad bbs fanboy looking to dismiss KH2, then you could have just said so

>And removing RCs could also just mean that we now get cutscenes without any interaction every few seconds in bossfights or that we just the the same few combos against a huge boss like the one in Mulans world etc. until it just explodes and dies

It could, if you were retarded. Luckily, some of us know how to read.

>When KINGDOM HEARTS III was presented at E3 2013, there was tremendous excitement. This E3, it looks like KINGDOM HEARTS III has been making several updates.

>In regards to supplementing the gameplay, we have removed the Reaction Commands in KINGDOM HEARTS III. QTE (Quick Time Event. Actions that execute at the touch of a button according to when it displays on screen) isn’t there anymore. For people who have seen the “flashy” battles in KINGDOM HEARTS II, it felt like there were too many of them when doing these operations.

>Q:Are there no longer Reaction Commands in boss battles?

>A: That’s right. While removing the elements of QTE in KINGDOM HEARTS III, being referred to as flashy battles, we are making it more challenging. All actions will be based on good or favorable timing.

Let me spell this out for you, I know it's tough to do things without a triangle prompt.

>We are making it more challenging. All actions will be based on good or favorable timing.
khinsider.com/news/Quick-Time-Events-Will-Not-be-in-KH3-5575

So QTEs

They literally say no reaction commands or QTEs. Can you read?

More like
>we'll have enemies without any interesting attacks or counter abilites or RCs, that where 99% optional for normal enemies, but you could always do them if you want to and they we put the extra effort into it, but not this time

The attitude they have is excellent, but they're overlooking the fact that that means less variety in boss battles. You will have to rely on the abilities you have, and there's never going to be dynamic moves when they perform certain attacks on you.

Some of these dynamic moves added a lot of character to the boss's, or were given as a reward for proper positioning or dodging.

Again, it wasn't alway used well but I'd rather have the concept expanded upon and used sparingly than just outright dropped.

That said, I'm not defending cutscene QTEs. I'm talking in-battle reaction commands, free from cutscenes.

>Menu is back
>Drive Forms are back
>No more reaction commands
Seems fine to me famalam.

...

That's a very nice picture of trees you got there

...

Cool coat.

update those drivers chief

So has anyone pointed out how Sora having a guard form with a shield means that he's probably not going to have Valor form anymore?

Which is fine by me desu since I always thought Goofy giving you a dual-wielding form was dumb.

I think it's simply nostalgia to act like Reaction Commands added that much to combat. Give the the enemies in KH3 more moves, and you've regained twice what you've lost

What, that doesn't dismiss the possiblity of returning forms at all

So we finally meeting this fucker?

I'm proud of you guys.

>>No more reaction commands
This is a problem to me famalam

Sorry, but when it comes to Reaction Commands, I can't help but be a little Critical

I still liked all the heartless and nobody reaction commands. I don't care if people cried about it, it gave them more variety and some boss RCs were just short half second attacks that add varition and set the boss into another phase or stunned state. You act like all the RCs are 5 minute QTE cutscenes, some bosses would've been boring as fuck without it, RCs are small rewards that could be better if they require timing

I'm playing right it right now and I feel this way. They added a lot to the combat and they could outright save your life.

Sora isn't performing moves unique to the situation. You're not gaining anything in that regard, you'd just be getting more boss patterns to memorize. Which is cool but its not the same thing, and you can still have both

The thought occurred to me as well.

He's assuming it means they've replaced Valour form with Guard if you fuse with Goofy.

I meant because you guys were ignoring Redpill-kun for the most part.

>Shotlocks are back

Yey.

Reaction Commands weren't just an "optional" way to do things, they were the "optimal"

Why both attacking the Fencer when doing his faggy minigame instakills him?

I'd rather have RCs than this targeting nonsense. I never liked using it, though at least here's it's not just a slow spell attack and seems to work well with combos.

That said the particles are fucking slick as fuck here, and you can see a lot in the distance.

>still caring about KH

You're a black weeb.
I know you are.

Name a better ARPG series to follow.
Emphasis on ACTION

Cool, the nitpick I had about the gauntlets is fixed with this form. I'll probably go into cutscenes looking like this if I can. It looks slick.

Not a huge issue with the main outfit, I like it quite a bit overall, but they were a bit too gray for my tastes

Why bother removing all of it and just hitting them till they're dead when you options like ganing back HP, ganing more muni, special items, using the enemies against other enemies, using the attacks of enemies yourself, getting yourself out of bad situations etc.

Ys

not to mention that it wasn't always a get out of jail card, you could fuck yourself over if you used it without care

FF XV :^)

Hi, nigger.

>he can't into Crit LVL 1

It's really not even that hard. If you're playing Crit you might as well do LVL 1. There's only a few cases where you'll most likely get stuck for several deaths unless you know what you're doing beforehand

Rare was the reaction command high risk, and rarer still was a reaction command anywhere near approaching "hard" to pull off.

The game coaches you to use reaction commands whenever possible. The game even forces the gimmick on you - you can't beat Sephiroth without the reaction command

it's not an option, it's an obligation

In boss fights, sure. But against normal enemies it's optional. It added variety and ways to actually attack different or evade differently or give you rewards for weakening enemies or guarding certain attacks. It's not like you walk up to enemies, press triangle and they die

They were great to look at once or twice, but afterwards they made game too easy.

Sure they were less frequent than the ones you might as well just use unless you're bored enough not to--but that's why I said I'd rather they expand on this for KH3. Make it less mindless. I don't agree that it was an obligation either. You're just thinking of the obvious cases with some of the bosses

Reaction commands were always fun so who cares. If you guys like BBS for being feeding off your cookie clicker addiction, then I don't see why having the optional opportunities amongst enemies is anything but a fun thing to include, especially when they looked fucking cool.

And what the fuck is the big deal about finishing bosses with a reaction command? You've earned it. You got his HP bars down. In concept it's literally no different than in KH1, except you get to have a cool finisher. Stupid fights like hydra shit on this but still, when it was used right it was rad

Don't go and wave away the boss example like it's no big deal - boss fights are the iconic part of Kingdom Hearts.

Personally I think more drive forms, command styles, and the gun Sora gets in KH3 are a better way of providing options than enemy specific commands.

you can't just say
>this mechanic can replace this mechanic
when the entire point of the reaction command mechanic is that it changes up constantly. There were a metric fuckton of animations and moves that you got from it. It's not as simple as it being replaced with more drives or a command style.

Don't go and wave away the fact that not all RC's are 30 second cutscenes. Tons of them were short optional things that give you rewards. I'll gladly agree when i get to see KH3 bosses and enemies without RC's but until then i will miss them. I don't just want to guard all day and the enemy has the same staggering aniamtions over and over and over again until he dies. If they integrate special animations for coutners than that's even worse cause at that point you won't have actual control over boss patterns

Well at this point it's Reactive vs Proactive Gameplay

Reaction Commands are reactive. You're not making a move. You're waiting for the triangle to come up. You don't get to control when you do the cool thing.

Going by the 0.2 Demo and what people have said about KH3 behind close doors, the triangle button now serves as a means to go into command styles or do a special move.

The difference? You get to actually make the special move happen. You don't have to wait for the enemy to prompt you

That's much better. That's not cinematic. That's what gameplay should be

Oh and let me elaborate - for 0.2's command style and for KH3's special move, there are conditions you fulfill to do them. Kind of like DmC. It's not random, it's based on how well and in what way you're fighting

as many silent hills

I was worried about Command Styles being shit in 0.2, but they're basically just weaker, more persistent drives now.

>Reaction Commands are reactive. You're not making a move.

It just sounds like you're just generalizing every single one of the reactions. A lot of them are basically a new move. It's not watching anything at all because you did it and it happens--same as hitting square.

I don't get why you think it shouldn't be expanded upon. Holding triangle to turn on a style isn't nearly the same amount of content. All it needed was tweaking.

>combining shotlock and FlowMotion
"yay" t. no one ever.

>basically a new move
That you have no control over. The enemy causes the command to appear, not you.

>I don't get why you think it shouldn't be expanded upon. Holding triangle to turn on a style isn't nearly the same amount of content.

Misleading. It's not just triggering the style, it's what the style itself does. Aqua in Magic Weaver mode is very different from Aqua in normal mode in 0.2.

Tons of fighting styles you can use and actively trigger yourself > Reactive Minigame

>Sora now has access to guns, drives, and possibly command styles
>Faggots sad that they can't press triangle to win anymore
Stop being afraid of the future Grandpa

>Sora has access to guns
Most hyped about this tbqh

>That you have no control over. The enemy causes the command to appear, not you.

Why is that bad? Especially if its geared more as a reward for proper dodging/positioning/blocking as it would logically be in KH3?

that's still just a new combo and finisher at best with maybe a few modifiers, nothing like a mountain of moves that you could use.

>Got BBSFM on an emulator
>Say fuck it and go Proud Mode Aqua having done nothing but Easy before
>Get boner from hearing her death noise a few times

Shit Anons I don't like what Proud Mode's doing to me.

>that's still just a new combo and finisher at best with maybe a few modifiers, nothing like a mountain of moves that you could use.

Nah, that's wrong. First it's worth mentioning you don't need to use the combo and finisher and can cancel out of command styles now. Secondly, with Magic Weaver at least, Aqua's spells behave differently. That huge Thundaga thing? That's not the typical magical weaver combo, that's a magic specific combo in Magic Weaver.

Now imagine having multiple styles and drives available, and all the cool shit you can do with that. Add guns for extra craziness

>Why is that bad?
Because the heartless/nobody/whatever the fuck will be the thing in KH3 determines when you can do a move, not you. Being proactive means you don't rely on the enemy to give you your move, you use your own moves and see where it gets you

Oh shit, I didnt know that. That's cool as fuck then if you can go in and out midcombo.

I'd still like a minimal and appropriate and nice use of reactions but that's neato

When you walk away
You don't hear me say please
Oh baby, don't go
Simple and clean is the way that you're making me feel tonight
It's hard to let it go

You're giving me too many things
Lately you're all I need
You smiled at me and said,

Don't get me wrong I love you
But does that mean I have to meet your father?
When we are older you'll understand
What I meant when I said no,
I don't think life is quite that simple

When you walk away
You don't hear me say please
Oh baby, don't go
Simple and clean is the way that you're making me feel tonight
It's hard to let it go

(So simple and clean, baby)

The daily things
(like this and that and what, what)
That keep us all busy
All confusing me
That's when you came to me and said,

Wish I could prove I love you
But does that mean I have to walk on water?
When we are older you'll understand
It's enough when I say so,
And maybe somethings are that simple

When you walk away
You don't hear me say please
Oh baby, don't go
Simple and clean is the way that you're making me feel tonight
It's hard to let it go

Hold me
Whatever lies beyond this morning
Is a little later on
Regardless of warnings the future doesn't scare me at all
Nothing's like before

Well if you cancel out of the command style you'll need to build up the style before using it again, but other than that yeah you chose to start and end it.

You still HAVE a finisher - but there's no obligation to use it.

Is Magic Weaver's finisher still as broken as it was in BBS?

No. It doesn't do absurd dps the closer to Aqua the enemy is, just steady DPS to a bunch of enemies in a general radius

It's a good change IMO, though nowhere near as funny

wisom form was fun as fuck, shooting and sliding all over the place, but have the same but with duel wielding?
Sign me the fuck up!

What the hell Aqua can go into and out of Command Styles at will? Holy shit I haven't been paying too much attention to the gameplay but that sounds nuts.

She still has to build up the conditions to ACTIVATE Magic Weaver, but once she does yeah she doesn't have to and can cancel out of it.

I want to cuddle with Aqua and grope her spats legs.
