Can anyone tell me some JRPGs with male party members that use a spear?
I've been playing a lot of games where there's a female spear character.

Other urls found in this thread:
Final Fantasy games. Most prominently FF IV and VII.
Legend of Dragoon is one of them, trying to think of others...
Earthlock Festival of Magic. Shit's fun too.
Trails of Cold Steel. He's also secretly one of the best characters if built right, criminally overlooked by most people
He is all you need until he dies.
Arc the Lad 3
Tell me user. I stick with Ginger healer, best grill and her giant sword, and the tsundere guy.
Because of his shitty personality.
>Muh wind.
SMT4 if you use spears.
Also has demons like Cu Chulainn, Tam Lin, and Setanta.
Why are you using Machias if you're not using Emma?
You can build Gaius as an Evasion tank, just like Fie or you can abuse his crazy HP multiplier and abuse that MQ that gives more attack the more health you have. He can be on par with Laura damage wise and bring more utility than her in case shit doesn't die with Domination shenanigans.
>Because of his shitty personality.
I'll take MUH WIND over the shitty tsunderes (The one with tits and the one without them)
Suikoden games, although now that you mention it spear DOES appear to be more of a female thing in games.
Final Fantasy XII let's you equip pretty much any and all your party members with spears. in fact, the zodiac spear is one of the best weapons in the game.
I don't think it lets you do that in the original game, but I'm looking forward to the PS4 re-release
Lavitz from Legend of dragoon was pretty cool.
>need to NOT open a bunch of chests
>need to look up a guide to know which ones
I don't know if that's worse than IZJS's really low percentage.
But I'm guessing the latter let you have multiples.
You had to sell those strategy guides somehow.
Is this a spear?
Thats a lance.
No, that's clearly a pilebunker
No it's a gun.
>female spear character.
Can you drop some names?
Asking for my friend's son.
...
garr from bof3
>Dreaded Dragon as the finisher of your chain of PWS
Aw yeah.
That girl with the hotpants that caused a shit ton of drama and got the executive producer fired from one of the recent tales games
Judith
Gwendolyn
Olga if short spears count
Frieda
mmph
her story wasn't half bad either

Ungaga wields polearms in general. He is also the most handsome man in the village.
Sharon from Suikoden III. Her mother, too.
As for male spear users, Sharon's spear is actually Futch's old spear from Suikoden I and II (and he uses his old mentor's sword in III). Suikoden's full of tiny touches like that.
Tales of Rebirth / Eugene Gallardo
You're in luck, it's the best Tales too.
Is it bad that I still haven't played this game because the name cracks me up?
He is seriously the fucking worst. He sucks so much dick when you get him and are forced to use him on some floors straight away.
ff4
Kain's a dragoon, they use lances
FF12 lets you use spears on any character
Final Fantasy XIV
Also a bunch of other FF games.
Yeah he was pretty shit. I think the only way I got through his forced floors was busting out the shitty pole he starts with and just holding X to infinitely do that dumb pole spinning move he does. Since the weapon was broken I just kept holding it until enemies died.
In Disgaea, any character can use any weapon they want, even if they don't have the proficiency for it. You can have a mage running around with an axe if you want, though it's obviously inefficient.
Pic related for example starts with a sword, but can also wield a gun, bow, or spear if you so choose. Spears are pretty good in just about every Disgaea game but the first one.
Final Fantasy X is a big one.
Mareg from Grandia 2 uses a poleaxe. Not quite a spear, but still a type of polearm.
I'm not sure if you want to count a strategy RPG, but Ephraim from Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones is a main character who uses spears.

Riesz/Lise from Seiken Densetsu 3 is probably the biggest and better known female spear users, and probably an influence on a lot of the later ones.
...
Was alright if you had the foresight to keep a weapon sphere around.
Though I remember having some issues with hitboxes.
