999 and VLR are coming to Steam in increased resolution.
Hype?
Also, dont read the spoilers if you have not played 999 and VLR or ZTD. They will be too complex for you to understand.

Flow movement is confirmed in 999 too. It will be easier to get all those endings now.
God that looks like shit compared to the DS version. I'd rather just have new 3D models instead of that lazy shit.
AND voice acting was added. To both 999 and VLR.
It's not really lazy. It's upscalling. Having a 320x resolution boosted to 1920 or even 4K would look horrible and blocky.
And for the weebs, it's both Japanese and English voice acting that has been added to 999 and VLR.
"A remastered and revamped Nine Hours
The well-received classic Nintendo DS game 999 has been updated with hi-res graphics and a variety of new features including both Japanese and English voice acting! "
So much for that SONY "exclusive".
Well Sony can always claim they have the "console" exclusive. Since the Switch might not have it, and the Xbox One wont have it.
Not sure I like the giant touchscreen friendly buttons though. It's like they took the Phone version for some reason.
>releasing this so much time after ZTD
>still not releasing DR:AE on pc, or ps4
>not even a western release planned for DRV3 at all
Spike Chunsoft is really too complex to understand
Man if I had known 999 was coming, I wouldn't have bothered to play it on emulator.
And fuck 999 for being good. It only made the disappointment from ZTD being absolute trash that much worse.
I emulated 999, got all the bad endings and told myself "I'll get the good endings in short time", that was 3 months ago so I'm looking forward to actually buying it.
...
Yup that's Seven alright
After ZTD who fucking cares?
ZTD was still good. It was less good than the two others, but it was still good.
They're not on a boat.
I just don't get how you can get the two screens to come across. Turning over your DS at the end was incredibly satisfying
No idea. Maybe have a mechanic where you can turn the image around at the end? Or change the puzzle?
Yeah, the remake having voice acting and Flow charts will make the game a breeze to go through.

Plz dont spoil games like that. It's not chill my bro.
Gold star.
spoiling implies posting something that when learnt, would make someone who knows nothing about the game like it less
To anyone who hasn't played any of these games - ONLY buy 999.
After your first ending drop the game and just consider it canon. The real ending never happened and neither did the next two games. Trust me.
This is not how visual novels work.
I'll pick it up on vita so I have the entire physical collection. It's been ages since I played 999, I'm really hyped for this.
>tfw Snake's NUCLEAR scene is going to be voice acted
The series would have been boring as shit if it was a regular Saw-like thriller. All the crazy sci-fi mumbo jumbo is what gives it flavor.
I was waiting for this. I will be nice to have all the games together in one place, rather than spread out over as many systems.
>So much for that SONY "exclusive".
999 was DS-only and VLR was 3DS/Vita, so I'm not sure how either game would be considered a Sony exclusive.
Some people thought the remake would be PS4/Vita only.
>Exclusive to PS4 and PS Vita, The Nonary Games is a double pack collection of Zero Escape: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors (999) and Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward (VLR)
Uchikoshi teased this ages ago by calling it a VITAl STEAMship. If anything, the ps4 version is the most surprising.
i wonder why SC is pushing PS4 ports so much now, does anyone like playing VNs on console?
Ah, so it's the remake that's Only For Playstation*
* also on PC
Although really, being excited about a remaster having console exclusivity is sort of silly. Nobody claimed that the first Resident Evil was ON GAMECUBE ONLY because that was the only console which had REmake at the time.
This is a good question
Like a lot of the smaller publishers in particular, they need to explore every potential avenue, given mobile gaming has just about decimated everything else in Japan.
It's really wierd. I think they're just banking on the ps4's massive base to provide some garunteed extra cash. I have no clue who'd wanna buy a VN to put on a tv though.
>Another good fanbase ruined by PCfags
What other games have recieved the Dark Souls kiss of death?
Most likely, Spike Chunsoft knows that the Vita is dying and they want to move their userbase onto another platform with a bit more life in it. If their userbase scatters then they'd need to be making games on all systems to maintain it; if they can encourage their fans to switch over, though, they can keep focusing on just making games for one system.
PS4 is the most similar to Vita in programming, and not everyone (especially not everyone in Japan) has a computer good enough to run games, hence why they're likely pushing the PS4.
It's nice to see them coming to Steam. I emulated 999 on my phone since I prefer VN's while laying in bed. Don't know how I'll enjoy VLR on my PC though, but at least I won't have to pay Nintendo's jew tax and can at least wait for a sale on PC.
Also japanese voice acting, you don't have to be a weeb to know things are best in their original language. Cause holy shit Phoenix Wright is trash in english, specially with the localization.
Makes sense, but remember the VN market makes a lot more money in Japan. So I guess I'm just confused with this being on PS4.
>don't read the spoilers
>they will be too complex
So do you mean, don't read them because it'll be hazardous to your mental heath, or I doesn't matter if you read them, because you'd have forgotten by the time you play the games anyway?
You can ruin 999 and VLR for someone in like 5 words.
That complex thing is a meme from ZTD.
And you just shouldn't read spoilers if you plan to play the games, that's it.
Dont read spoilers. People like to spoil stuff for some reason.
