Dualshock 4 on PC

I'm thinking of buying a PS4 controller to use in my PC. Do I need to buy anything else apart from the controller itself ? If I use it with an USB cable do I ever need to charge it ? What USB cable should I buy ?¨THANKS FOLKS !

Bump.

InputMapper and maybe the xbox 360 controller drivers. You don't need to charge it if you have the USB cable, and assuming one comes with it, you can just use that.

micro usb cable

if you use Steam they just rolled out beta support for it today.

Why would you make a thread for such a stupid question instead of using google?

>If I use it with an USB cable do I ever need to charge it ?

Are the average people really this stupid these days?

This is the tool I use with my DS4 to emulate it as a xbox controller. MicroUSB cable if you don't have a bluetooth capable computer.

You'll be surprised just how illiterate people are with basic gadgets.

This is degenerate, why would a cabled product need to be charged?

>If I use it with an USB cable do I ever need to charge it ?

No user. The voltage running through the cable turns off just because just for you because its a DS4 and you're trying to use it to play video games.

I don't know, ask OP.

Speaking of these controllers, how well does the USB cable stay attached to the controller?

like they do into 99% of phones out there, its the same connection

God damn you people are fucking retarded.

They stay in pretty good.

It's been plug and play for every game I've tried it with

Op. Only program you need is inputmapper. It works better than others and games don't have any problems with identifying the controller. I played many titles like rocket League, dark souls, alien isolation and many others. Only problem I had was with the fifa 17 demo, but I'm sure it's the games fault. Back to the subject. Go for it an buy it

Well, if I use my smartphone while it is plugged in my pc, it disrcharges faster than it charges, so I asked in case something like this could happen. Thanks for all the feedback,

nice kneejerk response without actually understanding the question. he's asking how well the cable stays connected as microusb is notorious for having female connectors that dont properly hold the cable in and come loose easily. there's a third party controller ds4 coming out with a coax style screw on cable for this exact reason. instead of being in such a rush to flaunt your lack of intelligence, just be quiet and let the adults talk.

why stop at the controller itself?
for $230 more you can get the console too.

No, theres nothing notorious about them dicklick, its a standard, its all the same unless you are buying chinese shit.
Is the DS4 chinese shit from aliexpress or is it a product that goes through QC?

It connects exactly as good as any other phone that isnt a chink piece of shit does.

Hang yourself you, pretty sure you are OP
Go wiki electricity and how it works you butthurt fuck

>What USB cable should I buy ?

Micro USB long enough to reach from your PC to where you play. I feel this shouldn't be explained.

You can use DS4Windows for presetting and input mapping. Works pretty well. Even after getting official drivers for it, I'm still using DS4Windows.

What? Just opt into the Steam beta and then turn PS4 shit on in Big Picture Mode.

Link to the controller? Micro-usb's definitely have a terrible time staying on my DS4, forces me to use the bluetooth.

I'm using the cable that comes with the Steam Controller, stays in both SC and DS4 controllers nicely.

I think the steam wrapper only works for games that support the steam controller. DS4windows and others will emulate Xinput, making it compatible for loads more games.

Also DS4windows has lots of custom binding options and stuff.

...

I used my PS4 controller on a Genesis emulator a few days ago. I don't remember installing anything for it. I just plugged in and played.

>the steam wrapper only works for games that support the steam controller

Well there's only like 10 games that have native support, but I still use it for every game.
