More info on the Nintendo Switch

Hello everyone. I have some more (not as interesting) details on the Nintendo Switch regarding its gimmicks, bundles, and prices.

Firstly, a nintendo console isn't a nintendo console without its fair share of gimmicks. My source claims that at the January presentation we are going to be shown what is currently being referred to as Nintendo NFC cards. These cards use the same NFC technology as Amiibo to allow you to carry your Nintendo Switch and Nintendo account info wherever you go.

This will allow you to carry all sorts of data with you that you otherwise would need to bring your entire Switch with you for.

>Both you and your friend have Mario Kart, but you have more characters unlocked than him
Tap your ID card to access your unlocked characters on your friends system
>You want to play a game that you have downloaded at home, but your friend doesn't have
Tap the card and download the game to your friends system until you leave
>Want to log into your friends Switch to play online using your own account
Instead of typing in a long user name and password, tap your card and login instantly.
Etc...

Other urls found in this thread:

twitter.com/AnonBabble

Each card is paired with a "Home Console" and a Nintendo account.

Every single Switch will come with at least one of these, but they can also be bought at a retail price of ~10 dollars according to my source.

They can also be customized if purchased through the nintendo site themselves. Use your own picture or chose your favorite character logo. Even get your name engraved onto the bottom of the card.

Cards that come with the systems have a 2 randomly selected colors and a randomly selected icon as you can see in my mockup (I'm sure the final design will look a lot nicer)

This concept was created by Nintendo to make up for the less than stellar battery life the Switch will supposedly have. Since the Switch isn't as portable as some people wanted, they are attempting to do the next best thing.

I can't guarantee that I will have any answers, but feel free to ask some questions and I will answer what I can.

Forgot my trip

>It's a Switch bait thread

That's fun to say

I'll bite, just because these threads are always entertaining shitstorms of fake info. Is it weak or not, not buying a weak platform from them again.

>Customize with your own picture
I can already see people trying to put all sorts of porn pictures in their ID cards.

Completely forgot the prices and bundles part of what I was going to post.

According to my source there will be 3 bundles at launch. One with Zelda and a pro controller, one with Mario, and one with neither.

The Zelda bundle expect to be ~340 dollars
Mario Bundle around ~300 dollars
And the final "budget" bundle will be around ~260 dollars

>feel free to ask some questions and I will answer what I can
Do your parents know you're such a retarded faggot?

What other info you got?
Specs
Launch games
Support
Region lock
Joy Con options
Bundles
Release date
Other gimmicks?

Not sure about the current specs. All I know is that the portable screen is 720p, and the base brings it up to 1080p. Unsure if that is upscale or not.

your made up bullshit doesn't even make logical sense - if someone wanted to share their data with another person, they'd just bring the Switch itself, there'd be no need for a separate peripheral to achieve that.

I keep forgetting to save my other info. Is there a Sup Forums archive that currently works? I can maybe find my old stuff there if you want specifics.

What I have already covered:
>Super Mario Switch info
>Nintendo Directors Cut (expanded versions) of Mario Kart, Splatoon, and Smash Bros
>Rereleases of popular NES games with new content being released on the eshop for a few dollars more than their virtual console price

Believable.

Nintendo would take something that could just be done by logging in on a system and demand you own a physical secondary product to do it.

Sounds like something they would actually include with the console, rather than make you buy it separately.

>NES games on Virtual Console are actually getting MORE expensive

You can still buy the original game, or you could buy the expanded version. Each compatable game will have one or two new features. co-op in Mario Bros 3 and a new area and boss in Metroid are a couple examples

>popular NES games with new content
How does that work?

Not sure the exact process they are using. For all I know it could just be rom hacks.

Probably like NES remix or Super Mario Maker. New stages for old games.

Found the full post I last made reguarding extended NES games

The eshop is going to be coming fully stocked from top to bottom. I don't have an exact number but my source said to expect it to be full of games from NES to Gamecube.

Nintendo is also going to be releasing expanded versions of already existing NES games, sold for 50 cents to 2 dollars more than the vanilla eshop price.
"Expanded" really isn't a great word for it because most games are really less of an expansion, but more of a new feature or two tacked onto the already existing game.

A few examples I know of:
>Co-op in Mario Bros 3
>A new boss, beam, and mini area added to Metroid (This is going to be Nintendos posterboy for the concept)
>A few new tracks and another 2 cars to FZero
>A new enemy and powerup in Kirbys Adventure

I am probably going to compile this and my leaks of Nintendo Directors Cut games and my info on Mario Switch into a pastebin soon.

Ask a few questions if you want. I can't promise I have an answer though.

Ignore those last 2 lines. Like I said, this is just a copypasta.

I like how Mario is all blurry but Luigi is crystal clear in the screenshot.

Just a mockup I made real quick to grab attention. Don't assume any image I post is supposed to be the final product

bad

Couldn't I just bring my game over my friend's place?

>>Rereleases of popular NES games with new content being released on the eshop for a few dollars more than their virtual console price

Literally why just stop at NES?

I hope third party allow some sort of sleeves so I can hide my ID under a nerdily acceptable naked loli picture in public

Why should I believe you?

I don't know for sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if they continue past the NES games in the future. Especially if they sell well

Fake, but I love it.

I'd love zelda 1 to get better graphics, like how much better super Mario 3 is compared to 1, yet still the same console

>Ignore those last 2 lines

So you're not going to be making a pastebin? That would be nice, I didn't see your thread on Mario Switch.

I will. Actually its gotten to the point I should do that now. I'm going to re-type the Mario one if I can't find it. I may have been using a slightly different trip

Will we get any of the setelaview games with original sound?
I want to play some BS Zelda

Yea looks like I'm going to have to retype it. I'll post it when I am done.

great, now my account is a physical item and can be easily stolen or lost.

great idea.

It will be easy to disconnect or reconnect your card. If you lose it, all you have to do is go to your home Switch and disconnect the card.

>retards are actually believing this nonsensical bullcrap

Man, you can't screw up worse then Nintendo

>Make portable system
>Except not really
>3 hours of battery depending on intensity of game
>games run like shit in portable mode compared to being plugged in

It's the worst thing you could possibly do to a portable. Everyone always complained about how long the PSP battery lasted, Vita was even worse. Meanwhile the DS and 3DS (3d turned off) lasted for almost 5 hours and they only got better with the XL and new3DS.

But it's also made people apprehensive about portables because people don't want to be suckered into Early adoption anymore. They want to wait on the revision.

If Nintendo can't convince people to get the system, then devs won't make games for it and it will flop just like the Wii U.

>260 dollars for base system

They should have gone for a better battery and slightly increased the systems size, bumped it up to 300 dollars and 350 for the bundles. They won't convince people to buy a handheld/console hybrid, especially if the rumors are true and Sony got Monster Hunter back.

Pokemon won't come to the system for a few years after it will have already been out, so they can't count on it to sell systems.

Yeah, lets add more steps to the easiest concept in the fucking world.

Although this is a good thing in a way, chinks hacked the Amiboo as well, so all you need to do is load an account to the card that has all the games and done.

Don't tip off Nintendo, user. If piracy is easy for this thing it's going to be a blessing.

>nonsensical bullcrap
it's just the same thing Blizzard has been doing for years now. I see no problem there, it's believable and safe.

>it's just the same thing Blizzard has been doing for years now
No it isn't?

Good news. Found the copypasta of my first leak reguarding the Nintendo Directors Cut games. Still looking for the Mario info though. I really dread retyping it

Here's what I know regarding the upcoming games.

Mario Kart 8, Splatoon, and Smash Bros are all getting Switch "Directors cut" editions. It's still the same general game, but with minor changes and all paid DLC for free.
Mario Kart 8 DC I'd going to have with it some new characters and a new cup. Also a few battle arenas returning from previous Mario kart games. It's also going to have minor changes like holding 2 items and mirror cups for all CC speeds.
Splatoon DC is going to have all new cosmetics, some new weapons, a stage or two, and some features that had been left out of the original game for one reason or another. Voice chat, local online multiplayer, and the ability to choose stages are all going to be added. Along with the return of splatfests.
Super Smash Bros DC is going to add to it all 3ds stages, 3 new stages, and 3 new characters. Plus battlefield modes for all stages.
All 3 of these games will be downloadable for FREE if you already owned the game digitally on the Wii U. Nintendo is also partnering up with major retailers to create an exclusive trade in system so people who purchased the games physically can also get the upgrades for free, or at the very least a massive discount.
These aren't the only games Nintendo plans to do this with, but they ARE the only ones that will be launching with the console.

On a slightly unrelated note, I also know that Nintendo is working on a game called Nintendo's Rhythm Heaven, where rhythm heaven gameplay meets popular Nintendo characters. All new stages and all new songs.

>>You want to play a game that you have downloaded at home, but your friend doesn't have
>Tap the card and download the game to your friends system until you leave

For what purpose, that would be so fucking stupid cause
A) It would take up space on the friends hard drive that, if its only 32gb, would be small already if cartridges dont just play the game and
B) the cartridges are so fucking small there is absolutely no point in having this feature when you can POP IN THE CARTRIDGE THAT IS SMALLER THAN THE CARD ITSELF
C) The other person will probably have that game already because the library will abysmal :^)

>Nintendo is working on a game called Nintendo's Rhythm Heaven, where rhythm heaven gameplay meets popular Nintendo characters. All new stages and all new songs
Fucking sweet.

You dread typing your info again, but I dread buying Smash, Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon again. I already bought this Smash twice. Any idea what the new characters are?

>its another fake leak thread so people can shitpost about it under the assumption that it is true until january
end it

As I said, you would get the Directors Cut games for free if physical retailers cooperate the way Nintendo hopes.

No clue on the new characters. Thats something I can't possibly know given my source

I guess I should have read the whole post, lol.

How do you know all this stuff?

Is Mario Maker being considered for a switch port?

I don't. I have connections to people who do, and they tell me.

If you want to know about ME than you are going to be surely dissapointed. If you want to know THEIR credentials, than you are shit out of luck because I'm not saying.

Depends. There is a good chance, but Nintendo is more than likely to see how the 3ds port does before they fully decide. Honestly thats mostly speculation on my part.

Tell us about you

Do you have any info on the new zelda?

I found the Subject title of my Mario info thread, but the thread was 404ed so its not accessable. I don't use Sup Forums x, but apparently it allows you to access 404ed threads? If that is the case, if someone wants to use that to copy and paste my Mario leak for me that would be helpful

>Physical retailers
>wasting shelf space for a literal free game

No, it's not going to happen. Retailers would basically be hoping that the few people that didn't buy a physical copy would be picking up the DC and that's highly unlikely. Anyone that wants Smash, had it for the previous console.

You are asking for retailers to waste their time, money and effort for no return. They are going to give Nintendo the middle finger and rightfully so.

The very idea of it actually makes me hate Nintendo, even if I were to get a deal from it. No matter how much I hate Gamestop for their shitty practices, I can't abide by companies like Nintendo trying to push people around.

>I can't abide by companies like Nintendo trying to push people around
They want to give you games for free. I have all 3 digitally on Wii U and I'm fucking stoked.

...

I believe this is it. Since I can't see the post I don't know for sure

Post not found. Sorry. I guess there is a time limit to how long dead threads can be accessed with Sup Forums X.

Thats a shame. I guess I will get typing. Won't take too long if I condense it.

Good for you, but for Gamestop and major retailers that stock games, they are literally being forced to lose money from this.

As if Devs didn't hate Nintendo, now people that stock their games are going to hate them.

Nintendo doesn't have the man power, market share or even the money to force these major chains to do what they want and they are insane to even try.

They can do what they want in their own time in their own market. Because I guarantee you that retailers would sooner drop Nintendo games from their shelf space.

Gamestop is irrelevant in 2016.

>Switch + Pro Controller + Zelda = $340
I really really hope this one's true, day one buy if it is. Well, maybe not day one, I'll see which version of BotW is better first (since we might have another TP situation).

>As if Devs didn't hate Nintendo
they don't

wow! another leaker!? thats the 976th one this month, Nintendo must have shit security

Nintendo has a real problem with company loyalty. Remember the guy that stole the video they sent to the ESRB for Smash?

The Switch -might- have a Zelda U bundle instead of it's usual pack in game, but anything more than that is dumb. Nintendo will want to release the Switch in the simplest (and cheapest) way possible, so no Pro bundles at launch at all.

What I know about Super Mario Switch:

>Super Mario Switch may be the final title, but I doubt it
>Its supposed to feel like a combination of all 3d mario games up until this point
>Blends both linear and open world 3d gameplay

The game is structured as follows:
There is one big open hub world where you can access smaller open world levels. The main hub should be roughly twice the size of Dalphino Plaza. From this main hub are a few Stars (stars are back to being the main collectible) and some hidden areas very similar to Mario 64. Once you are in one of the many open world areas, you can explore and collect Stars just like any traditional 3d mario game. However, to get some of the stars you need to complete linear levels similar in style to Super Mario 3D World. Each open world level will have multiple of these 2d levels branching off of it. It is essentially a hub world within a hub world.

>Mario has the same feeling of control as he did in Sunshine. No flood though, so expect it to feel more like a cross between 64 and sunshine in terms of control.
>Mario can unlock new abilities using a new collectible scattered all over the game world. Using the collectible he can buy new hats and other powerups from a shop. When bought, they will appear in the open worlds, and the linear levels, making them easier to get to the end of. The powerups can also be used to unlock new areas in the hubs.
A good example of this is Mario using a metal cap to walk underwater into a cave, bringing you to a new linear cave level

>Yoshi is going to be back (I don't know to what degree)
>2nd player co-op as luigi using the joycons
>Some levels will connect into each other ala Banjo Tooie. For example, the ice hub may have a 2d level that connects you to the desert level

Pic related is one of the open levels

While this is one of the linear levels branching off of the same world as (You)

Gonna compile everything now into a pastebin for future reference. Sorry about not being able to deliver info right away guys

Don't know why my trip was off

So they're trying to make a combination of all the previous ones. Isn't that the last resort when there are no new ideas? I hope it's good, anyway.

well you seem cooperative. if you've been making all this stuff up, then congrats you fooled me.

What are your personal thoughts on all the things your sources tell you? excited or nah?

>actually believing any of this

kek a doodle doo

that nfc card idea doesn't even make any sense

I have been a Nintendo fan since I was a kid, but frankly the Wii U and even the Wii made me worried that Nintendo would be stuck in this gimmicky rut until they go thrid party. All I wanted since the gamecube was just a regular console I can sit down, and casually play with a regular controller. No second screen, no ridiculous motion controls, just pure games.

Switch is finally giving me that and I am more than excited. I see people complaining about the battery life, and the fact its a tablet, but honestly, as long as I can sit on the couch with a comfortable controller I am happy. I will absolutely be buying one.

This, not even a slice of proof and i can't take this seriously at all. Try harder next time OP

To be fair, you can sit on the couch with a comfortable controller to play most Wii and Wii U games.

it sounds like the sort of thing Nintendo would do, anyway I have nothing to lose by believing this.

>I see people complaining about the battery life, and the fact its a tablet, but honestly, as long as I can sit on the couch with a comfortable controller I am happy

Because that's going to be the reality for most people. So why have a gimmick that isn't used? It's going to be the same as the 3DS and 3d. Why have it be portable if you aren't going to use it? You are paying a premium for a shitty gimmick either way.

Maybe you can, but I can't.

90 percent of Wii games require motion controls and like 70 percent of Wii U games do. I was so incredibly excited for splatoon and Star Fox until I found out that I couldn't play them with the pro controller

I am not believing or denying his information is correct and valid. All im doing is taking in all this info and speculating what might or might not be true. a lot of this info is possible but im not believing anything unless someone gives direct proof or it comes from nintendo themselves

>You are paying a premium for a shitty gimmick either way
I'm paying a premium to have all of Nintendo's studios working on games for one console. THAT is what I've always wanted for a Nintendo console.

>All 3 of these games will be downloadable for FREE if you already owned the game digitally on the Wii U. Nintendo is also partnering up with major retailers to create an exclusive trade in system so people who purchased the games physically can also get the upgrades for free, or at the very least a massive discount.

that sounds SO bullshit

Ha, fake.
We already know that the base doesn't hold any extra hardware, it's just there to charge the switch and provide an exit to hook it up to the TV

>mfw $340 will end up being $600 in Canadian syrup.

>mfw homebrew emulator tap cards

Yes.

Mario Kart 8 came with a free extra game. I can see them doing this, since people will be rightfully angry about buying the same 3 games again.

And how would the Switch display 1080p in portable mode with a 720p screen?

Your dad works at Nintendo too OP?

The Switch will be the ultimate homebrew machine.

I'm almost more excited thinking at the possibilities than the actual games

>people still think tv will display 720p
The tablet CAN display 1080p, it only displays 720p to prevent its already poor battery life from being even worse. I'm still baffled by how tech illiterate Sup Forums is.

>2016
>nintendo discovers cloud computing

will i be able to add friends without typing in some 256bit string consisting of completely random characters

Can't wait.

unless Nintendo makes it uncrackaboo

Yes... and? Have I said otherwise? It is still not the base that does that, it's just a charging dock.

The ENTIRE hardware is in the portable module itself.

>Believing (((((((leakers)))))))) on Sup Forums

E

the "leaker" only said that it displays 1080p in base mode, no where does he say the base has additional processing.

what do you have to lose.

if you actually think about it for 5 fucking seconds you'll realise how ludicrously redundant the NFC card idea is given that someone can just take their Switch with them in order to share their games/data/etc. with friends.
