I just finished this game last night with about 35ish hours clocked on it. Wanted to talk about it and couldn't find another thread on the catalog so I figured I'd just make one.
Initial thoughts were that this game was extremely comfy all throughout. Lasting thoughts after finishing are that the game was a fantastic celebration of the series in my opinion and a GREAT way to kill time before FF:XV's release.
>came out like 7 days ago >hasn't sold a billion copies >clearly it flopped
end your self.

>35ish hours Did you get the True Ending?
Anyway, Sup Forums doesn't want to talk about it because it's not on PC. When it gets ported to steam in 2019, then we can talk about it.
Please look forward to the >thanks for beta testing >master race wins again
Jason Carter
I'm slowly chipping away at it. An hour or two a day. I'm a massive sucker for monster raising games.
Caleb Wilson
Still too early to call it a flop, mate. The art style, I admit, is very polarizing but I think Square knows exactly who the target audience is here. They meant to cater to longtime fans of the series as well as appeal to a new and younger audience. I feel this is a perfect entry point for newcomers to the franchise because of its battle system alone.
Carson Watson
SquareEnix is sure jewish when it comes to what "success" is. Sleeping Dogs 1 sold like 3 million and they still called it a complete failure.
Hunter Myers
Why can't I hold all these waifus? Just caught undead princess. Wish I could have more than two stacks. Having to put too many on the back burner.
Isaiah Carter
>They meant to cater to longtime fans of the series as well as appeal to a new and younger audience.
So they failed then, since doing both is impossible?
Cooper Cox
Indeed I did! It was a really fun time and the production values were very surprisingly high for what the game was selling itself as.
I think my favorite part of the game's narrative was the excellent voice acting. Even Tama started to grow on me after I got past the "your speech impediment is aggravating" phase.
Kevin Parker
I played like 10 hours. I don't really like it, which is a shame because I was looking forward to the game.
Nathan Scott
>chibi art style
Instantly dropped.
Ian Harris
I actually adore the style but to each their own!
Joseph Nelson
Thought it would be better than XV. I was wrong
Brayden Nelson
this and sun and moon will definitely hold me over till FFXV
>tfw I own World of Final Fantasy, Monster Rancher 2 and 4, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Pokemon Red, HeartGold, Diamond, (and soon Moon), and a countless number of MegaTen games

Xavier Cooper
I can't wait to trade this shit game in at gamestop to get Final Fantasy 15 cheaper.
>Play for 2 hours >no savepoint >suddenly an enemy appears that not only requires more than just pressing triangle - it can easily kill me >no savepoint for 1 hour. >dropped
Evan Smith
I sincerely can't tell if you're being ironic or not.
Brayden Davis
Just the fact that you aren't using the classic layout says a lot.
Evan Stewart
yea I know how this must sound but I am actually serious. Played it for a total of ~5 hours at best.
Brayden Lopez
What's it like playing a game without being able to see? That's the only way I can imagine you not being able to find a save point in a game that litters the world with them.
Thomas Gray

desu I'm glad that this one is flying under the radar. much less shitposting, and its nice to finally get a new ff not getting completely shit on by "fans." first time since vii that's happened i think.
nice calm before the storm when xv drops, and for about 2 years we'll be talking about how its literally the worst ff ever and people will pretend that everyone loved xiii at launch.
ff fans are autistic as fuck
Jason Peterson
...
Blake Cooper
I like it too, I just hope that SE doesn't deem it as a failure and we never see anything like it again. I would actually like to see a World of Dragon Quest at some point.
Michael Lewis
Holy fuck you are stupid. End yourself.
Josiah Flores
>people are ok with this design
I love FF but this shit is ugly. At least give them big detailed bobble heads. Not this same face lazyness like those toys you can buy at gamestop of popular videogame/cartoon characters.
Landon Adams
>people will pretend that everyone loved xiii at launch. Feeling really nostalgic for Hope and Lightning right now.
Mason Young
You call it ugly, I call you dumb. Japan has used the chibi artstyle for a long as time now.
Ian Wilson
>got the Undead Princess Memento. So, what mirages can transfigure into her?
Isaiah Cooper
Deathskull is her basic stage. I use him instead of her.
Blake Murphy
>includes lightning >it's her shitty xiii-3 costume
Luke Scott
Where is the porn?
Or can someone at least post the diabetic autist and her sugar webm?
Liam Morris
>put an order in for it 3 days ago >still haven't got it
Get your shit together, Webbhallen
Josiah Baker
Can you get a unique version of the Undead Princess like you could the Goblin Princess? I talked to the Undead Princess, but she doesn't want to fight.
Evan Collins
It wasn't even meant to be a blockbuster success. Barely any advertising for it, and clearly designed for and targeting exclusively the FFcore fanbase.
Kevin Allen
Reynn porn when?
Ethan Bailey
Not that I have seen. If you beat her 10 times you get a trophy though.
Isaac Watson
>Bought the game days ago. >No time to play it. >Sit down today. >Chapter 4 or 5. How many chapters are there? I feel like I am blazing through this game.
Also >Is there any Dragon Quest or Chrono Trigger cameo's. I know Xeno and Einhander are in it, but anything else?
Ian Williams
Yes you can, I think misread your question.
I think there are 3 intervention quests involving Sherlotta and Undead Princess you have to do before you can duel her.
You gotta be pretty high level to catch her though because you need light based attacks
Grayson Ramirez
Is this done yet?
Jason Perez
>Vivi
Is that fucking Chuckie from the Rugrats?
Tyler Morales
The twins are fucking right? there's only 1 bed in their room
Jordan Edwards

I caught her didn't realize it was a unique since it is in my deathskull's tree. My Ifrit and Shiva has their own thing with nothing attached.
Jack Cruz
03./00. [PS4] World of Final Fantasy # (Square Enix) {2016.10.27} (¥5.800) - 53.176 / NEW
04./00. [PSV] World of Final Fantasy # (Square Enix) {2016.10.27} (¥5.800) - 47.159 / NEW
No idea I'm not home right now. I may have used the memento in the deathskull tree to access her though.
You also don't need to be high level, just buy the banish spell and spam it on her while healing with cura.
Evan Gray
I was more hyped for World but the Builders demo blew the World demo away and now I can't decide which to get first.
Alexander Walker
Can I download it digitally or do I need to fucking drive all the way to a vidya store to buy it for my vita physically?
Asher Rogers
I prefer WoFF over DQB, but both are great.
Robert Baker
>Right at the beginning they explain you can't get a game over unless you are fighting a boss. >Savepoints at each zone, you more or less find them each 15 minutes and ALWAYS before a boss fight.
You are full of shit and you know it.
Asher Thomas
>vidya store that still carries vita games what is this fantasy land you live in?
Aiden Smith
Perfect thread for this question, everyone here seems to be on he same page, my question
I budget myself one game a month, and I've been really in the JRPG mood lately. If ya'll had to choose would it be:
having the same problem as this user, except the builders demo didn't grab my like the WoFF one did. Which is better for a discount price? Which is the better 60 dollar purchase for my time? Isn't 35 hours for a JRPG relatively short?
Daniel Cook
Are you saying i have to ORDER it for vita????
James Baker
I fucked up the format of this, but you get the idea.
Chase Davis
Is this game good for someone who doesn't play ff games? I know there's a lot of fanservice in it I just wanted to know how it is as a game itself.
Ayden Martin
>didnt realize the game was released yet > walk into game stop yesterday > pleasantly surprised to see it in the vita section Since when did stores stop carrying vita games? I still see them in best buy, walmart, game stop, toys r us, and so on. Is it just small towns that stopped carrying them?
Jack Allen
I'm really liking the game and can see me enjoying it more than XV, but I don't get why people are saying this is a good starting point to the series. A good 50% of the fun is the fanservice.
It is at least sound mechanically, FF alwaysdoes combat pretty well, and if you like monster collecting it will work.
I mean, 35 isn't that short for a JRPG these days.
Adrian Cruz
It's a nice casual rpg if that helps? It's got a good pace and you don't have to grind too hard unless you're constantly swapping monsters, it's very pleasant to play. Fuck the last boss though, what a dickhead.
Chase Parker
It's a great monster catcher game. Tons of different species, and the game would be enjoyable without the fanservice anyway since it's not that big of a deal imo.
Noah Gutierrez
That's a fold out couch.
Ryder Jenkins
Game in the UK doesn't have a Vita section or at least my local one doesn't, you have to ask for Vita games at the counter like you're buying dodgy porn. They do have a huge Minecraft section that's bigger than all the other console sections though and does usually have the Vita version of Minecraft but thats about it
Adrian Hughes
It looks cute and I'll probably get it at some point, but I've got other shit to finish before XV comes out so it'll probably have to wait 'til next year.
Jack Wright
All Vita games have a digital option, how do you not know this?
Benjamin Bailey
Man I can't believe a Final Fantasy game got outsold first week in Japan by some SAO cash grab thing from Bamco.
Camden Morales
>you have to ask for Vita games at the counter like you're buying dodgy porn. I want the one with the anime girl panties! Can you put it in a nondescript paper bag?
Elijah White
I know it's just shitposting but this whole everything is always flopping thing is dumb as fuck. People should just stop commenting on video game sales ever
Carson Davis
Who cares, I'm just hoping on the slight chance it won't just be all pre-order social media hyping and a Day 1 broken shit game that doesn't get addressed properly like No Man's Sky. After everything that's gone on in recent years I'm more wary of games with massive amounts of social media hyping because it just makes me think they're hiding something at worst and destined to over promise and under deliver at best,
Oliver Brooks
Episode Duscae was solid, and was even better when they patched it.
Parker Thomas
I'm surprised it sold as much as it did, to be honest. Its preorders and anticipation rankings were downright microscopic.
Liam Cooper
OP Here, I'll give you my two cents.
Much like you, I played both the DQB and WoFF demos before WoFF released. Much like you, the DQB demo didn't catch me either but the WoFF one did. WoFF wasn't even remotely on my interest radar until I played the demo. I was originally turned off by the Chibi style but it grew on me VERY fast when I started playing that demo.
Maybe it was the old-timey ATB battles or the nostalgia blindness but I ended up picking the game up on day one and I do not regret my purchase one bit. 35 hours is great for a more casual JRPG but let me inform the thread that I did not complete every side mission (including the Colosseum) and I can, in fact, confirm they give you more to do after you finish the story. They give you plenty of strong foes in the endgame to strive to beat after grinding levels. It's very Final Fantasy still, in that regard.
I picked up
Dominic Roberts
NMS and most hyped games weren't sent to the press to let them write reviews one month before the release. Witcher 3 was one of the few times something like that happened, because it requires the publisher to be absolutely sure that the game will impress.
Mason Lewis
God damn. Why is Reynne so sex?
Parker Jones
also, the game is gorgeous if you're picking it up on PS4. The Vita version has surprisingly sharp visuals as well!
William Morales
The Vita version looks good, sure, but the frame rate is Pokémon bad.
Mason Rodriguez
Damn. Guess I'm gonna have to get this now.
Elijah Sanders
Ok can someone explain to me why i need to unlock these prisms on the "sphere grid". I though the chocobos would all use the same prism but everytime i see a new color they just give me new one. Are the extra prisms for catching multiple or have the other monsters just not shown up yet.
Grayson Peterson
Also worth noting that the game has a bigger sense of humor than most of the recent mainline FF games.
Although I can see how some of the jokes wouldn't land for some people, I was fairly amused and smirking all the way through.
Oliver Wilson
...
David Barnes
You get an empty prism for every new mirage you encounter, free of charge. If im understanding your confusion correctly, you captured two separate chocobos of different color? It's technically a different mirage if its a different color and will have its own separate grid with other abilities.
eventually you'll be able to transfigure certain mirages into bigger forms after leveling them up enough and your mirages that share a line or "family" will also share abilities from the grid of the one you transfigured out of. For example, your chocochick learned Ram and any other abilities on its board. When you eventually evolve it into a Chocobo, it retains all of those abilities you unlocked for it as a Chocochick.
Most of the mirage boards also have another freebie prism of the same type on the grid so you can capture a duplicate of that same mirage in the overworld if you want to train a second one but itll start from level 1 again.
Hope any of that helps! It's hard to thoroughly explain the mirage boards without a screen in front of me so I apologize if that all sounded like gibberish.
Parker Bell
Nah I just wanted to know if there was any reason to get them other than getting multiples. The way they word it made it seem that if I didnt unlock them I wouldn't be able to catch stuff down the line. I only need one of everything so I no longer have to prioritize those nodes.
Nathaniel Murphy
Gotcha. That's all the spare prisms are good for. You will want to eventually unlock every node on their boards, though. You get a huge stat boost and reward for "Mastering" boards.
Anthony Baker
Wikia says that Rydia is in this game but I don't see her in any of the artwork.
