Fighter, Thief, Mage

>Fighter, Thief, Mage
>Mage is so vastly superior to the other options it isn't even funny

Why does this keep on happening? Is it just beta nerds that got game dev jobs and are trying to live vicariously through the wizards?

D&D has always favored the weaklings, and most RPGs build class archetypes from it.

Rogues and Wizards are always given the most ridiculous bonuses, while straight-up fighter/warrior classes get bupkiss besides "hit things more". It's also that magic is more or less a reality breaker, so it's obviously going to be more powerful than just hitting shit with hammers/axes/halberds etc etc.

>he thinks muscles can compare, to someone who can outright bend the laws of reality to his whims to make those muscles worthless

>not being a battlemage stealth archer and rekting all of them

Not a whole lot reality warping can do if you break the wizard's neck, cut off his arms, or stick a dagger in his throat before his four eyes can spot you.

A wizard without simulacrums and spelltriggers deserves to die.

Mage Armor + multiple wards would easily stop a warrior before that happened.

Also, you now know why wizards tend to roll in groups with warriors and other meatshields in tow.

mage is basically that kid who every time you came up with a power would try to one up you

>oh I can I use my lockpicking skill to open a door
>oh yeah well i'll just cast a spell opening the lock

Literally this.

Just play Dark Souls and weep.

Came in to post this.

The reality is that any idiot with a gun will beat both of these faggots.

You can't outwit a bullet. You can't beat up a firearm.

t. /k/

>you can't outwit a bullet
I can it's called dodging.

...

Try Dragon's Dogma, mage will bore you to tears.

>Dodging a bullet

You literally can dodge a bullet.

>wanting to be hurt in battle

Protection from normal missiles.

So, yeah, and that's that.

Go try to dodge a bullet and tell me how that goes.

Not playing Fighter/mage

Using that magic to counter other mages and allow you to carve them to pieces.

who else play rogues every game they get their hands on?

>His pose

Jojo reference?

...

ZA WARUDO

Nigga that's D&D in a nutshell

>Thief/Rogue: I pick the lock
>Fighter/Barbarian: I smash the lock
>Wizard/Warlock: I magic the lock
>Bard: I seduce the lock

Mages simply have a larger toolkit to work with.

If you can't describe that you swing your hammer into a guy's legs to knock him prone or jab your dagger in his eye to blind him, that's your own fault for not being imaginative.

The magic classes may have powerful stuff clearly labeled, telling you what they do, but the physical classes have the benefit of imagination and flexibility.

t. Someone who currently plays a Warlock In D&D.

>implying I don't have a mag loaded with both normal and magic ammo

More or less because
>All 3 have roughly same maximum power levels in terms of damage
>Mages have the longest range and thus the most protection because of on-hit effects and close-range AoE

Balance problems are always oversights. Outside of joke characters, only one comes to mind that wasn't.

This is the reason why I fucking hate Anime

To many special snowflake mary sues

You're talking about targeted attacks, which are usually at a disadvantage unless you're above level 6/spec right for them. That or the DM is tired of your munchkin shit and kills your character out of spite.

t. Currently running multiple games with Bard and Barbarians.

I mean in all honesty this particular anime was pretty bad read the manga

>What are spellswords?

Faggots, all of you

Only red headed stepchildren play spell swords it's either magic or get the fuck out.
